  1. Gamehead, your right. never say never...
  2. I have never seen a router being attack as in settings being changed and bios flashed. My router you haave to be hardwired in to the private network to change setting. You canot use the admin interface from the public side or or the wireless connection. As for the DHCP check all your setting and test wqith another pc if possible. Try to renew the settings from the command box using ipconfig /renew
  3. If the PC's are networked would always use a password even if it is in the house. You could disable security on your network shares, this would enable them to be used by all users tthat have file and printer sharing installed. Or you could setup PC1 with a user the same as PC2 PC1 = Jblogs = yorpassword PC2 = Jblogs = yorpassword if you set the pcs up like this you will be able to not require a password to use the share although they will be blockked from other users. Also you could hide the user with a reg tweak so it appears they do not exisit on the welcome screen. This is the part that throws me, as it sounds like you may want to use Remote Desktop ? And for this I am unaware of any way to login without a password using the standard tools. hope this helps
  4. Thanks... i'lll take a gander at it hail hail

  10. depends on a few things. Do you know what machines have the virus ? YES Take those machines of the network and do a bootstrapped virus check with updated files and if it was a new virus I did not know about I would double check with another AV software and do a google about it. NO Take all machines of the network and scan them with above process. I would start with the server as this normal takes the longest. Note down the PC's and files that are infected and see if you can put a chain together and see if you can find the source of infection. This is just a basic overview as each network will be treated in its own right. But if you take virus prevention seriously, machines must be stand alone once they are known to be infected. Also a log check should be done atleast once a week to check for virus infection. hail hail

  14. After a few days of playing around with these different PDF software's I have found that for my needs, PDF Creator is the best. It has many options that the otehr lack and it seems fast and reliable. Some of the other software has badly designed windows with alot of graphics and text that are just not need. They are good also, and I am sure will be usefull to alot of people but PDF Creator is the most profesional one in my opinion. So a double thumbs up for PDF Creator hail hail
