Does anyone know of a way to change the way programs usee the stat menu ? I mean if an application is installed instead of it being put in START/ALL PROGRAMS it could be placed in START/ALL PROGRAMS/NON STANDARD APPS so all application would automatically be placed here. Thanks hail hail

The keybord is the key here I think. Does it work if both pc's are setup with the same lanuage and keyboard ? Although using 007 as the password I think that the different keyboard setups map keys differently. So 007 on one pc is different on another. You could setup your pc with the two lanuages and use the switcher when your burd wants to rD to her laptop ? Let us knnow how you get on hail hail

I would use Port 3389 and just conect through the normal way. I have found using the a browser to conect is very slow. Unless you cannot install software on the mac at your school. hope this help hail hail

I have been with NTL for around four years now. and started of with there 500k service then upgrading to the 750k and now the 2meg service. I know a person in canada that gets a 10meg down and 2meg upstream connection for less than I pay per month. Britain sucks !!! we get ripped of for everthing.....

You should be able to do that via IIS's ftp feature. Setup FTP as per normal and setup access rights to your harddisk. I would not do this myself. But I would setup and area that you coud droop the fiiiles you need into. I would if i were you use some 3rd party FTP application. There are some good free ones out there and unless your system is being used for video editing the resource used are small. You would need to forward the traffic from your router to the server remember. Maybe another idea is use a USB pendrive ? hail hail

I have tried to use it for while. I like the idea of using some form of uinx as it is new and different to what I am used to, but I always have a windows machinie running because from my experience you need windows compatibility for one thing or another. As for mandrake....it was easy to install, picked up all my hardware and easy enough to make it look nice and work well. My main wory with using it is my lack of knowledge of unix as soon as you get away from the basic's I need to google every minute or two. hail hail

there are a few things you could do.... I do not know of any free ways to do this using explorer, although there are some software solutions you can pay for and use there webspace. You could use the web publshing wizard or my option is to have an area on my site that I can use PHP scripts to upload and organise my files, FTP software can be used for greater control also. The good thing about this is you can get your files up and downloaded with any web browser on any platform. But you cannot save directly to it from word for example.
