  1. mattofak, Getting there i think. The registry below will map to another windows machine with the right click. The draw back is you need to use the DELETE net drive option when you want the I: mapped to another location. For some reason it does not overwrite the settig with the new settings.
  2. mattofak: looks good.... i am doing the same through batch commands but i'm finding it hard to get the remote comuter name in to my NET USE command. come on all you smart guys get thinking ! hail hail

  4. Thanks mattofak: But i would want it to map to the place i right clicked to so there was no hard coding. Here is what I have so far Registry : This adds the right click option, I am thinking I may need to do a batch file to map the drive. I dont know how to pass the current folder through the NET command hail hail
  5. Does anyone know the registry settings that would allow you to right click and map a network drive to your current folder in explorer ? The same way as you can “open command prompt here” Hail Hail

  13. A good tip I picked up, is to use a sentence if you want a lengthy password. Using the first letter as your code. Sentence = My Dog Is Lazy And Sleeps From 9 Until 12 Each Day Password = MDISLASF9U12ED Sentence = The Bhoys Humped Rangers 1 Goal To Nil On The 9 1 05 Password = TBHR1GTNT9105 You can vary it however you like adding caps and longer sentence but it is pretty handy and easy to remember. Also remember to change it ever so often ! Hail Hail
  14. Hi, I would like to create a menu with 7 choices in a batch file. I used to use the choice option but in XP sp2 it seems is not available as standard. I do not want to use any 3rd part apps II just want to use standard windows commands. Can anyone of you smart guys help ? Hail hail

  18. The point is for a system with one drive split with two partitions. So wth minimum fuss a reinstall can be done and there is no need to get data from another drive. hail hail
  19. Hi guys, Thanks for the replys. A backup is a seperate issue, I just want them to be able to put in the CD and it installs windows XP again when they have a major problem. And all data on the second partition is sitting waiting for them once the unattended CD completes. hail hail
  20. Recently I have been getting fed up of fixing my friends computers. I was thinking of creating a unattended install that uses one disk with two partitions. Partition 1 – windows xp Partition 2 – Documents and settings So when a problem arose they could pop in the unattended CD and it would install the operating system back to Partition 1 and pick up all the documents and settings from partition 2. Has anyone got any real experience with this and can help me out with something’s to watch out for ? Hail hail

This is my first submission like this so take it easy on me. But all good criticism and pointers welcome. All instructions are in the rar file. Hope they are helpful to somebody. Merry Christmas hf.zip
