@Prime excellent link, thanks.

The intercooler that snaps on the back is a hassle. The connection is a passthrough from the power cable so becomes loose with any amount of use. I recommend the following styles as they use the usb and seem to do a better job. I switched back when i was playing oblivion fairly heavily and was still worried about the heat. The model I have has five plain white slots for 5 games on each side, but that must be old because they are all shiny now. edit: i suppose you could use both. I was happy to get rid of it and not have the occasional inconvenience of the cord weighing down the intercooler and pulling just enough out of the slot to power down the machine mid-game. http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-360-Fan-Stand/dp/B000BDHBDK http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-360-Elite-Cooli...p_ob_vg_image_2

Secure Erase Freeware that works with Win 7 RC?
iamtheky replied to DigeratiPrime's topic in Software Hangout
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/dd334519.aspx I have had success using sdelete to 0 out free space (and previously deleted pointers to items that EFS leaves behind), but they offer switches for the CIPHER command that will do the same. No luck with secure deletion of everything aside from a dod wipe -

are you running task manager with admin privileges. admin start a command prompt and run taskmgr, then try? edit: found this site http://www.winhelponline.com/articles/146/...dows-Vista.html it has another method running taskmgr with elevated permissions in addition to the cmd prompt solution.

you will probably have to explain what you are seeing in the machines where there are discrepancies between the host/netbios name. Is it trying to make a ridiculous long host name and truncating it to the first 15 characters for NetBios? Making sure the name is not all numbers?
-
so 2 names per computer 4 computers Are all 8 names different? if there are duplicates anywhere in that equation i would think it begins there.

http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=126922 We ended up not needing the functionality, but the usbstor.inf/pnf is the 'component' you are looking for. Removal proved far less effective than explicit denies and other usb devices like external cd/floppy drives still function *and i never did figure out how to deploy that custom one unattended.

I use Installshield Repackager - not free. However, I think there are old versions of WinInstall LE that are still around and I believe it also advertises a repackaging function as discussed (basically it scans your box. then you install and make your changes, it scans again and packages the difference): http://www.msfn.org/board/lofiversion/index.php/t48327.html

Maybe I am missing something. But why not just xcopy the files, then xcopy the shortcut (as it would need to be in the source, it would have to be made prior and edited to reflect proper deployment location of the .exe) to the desktop. Its what I do for the portable suites.

172.40.48.248 IP 255.255.255.255 Subnet 172.40.1.1 Gateway ______________________ single node subnet, indicative of dial-up or dsl connection [edit: removed ? as I went googling and the web concurred] When you plug a single pc into the netgear router (and the router into the 'line-in') and do an ipconfig /renew what is the return?
-
Thats what your CSSAMO is for you said switch up top of the post and router at the bottom of the post. Can you supply the model(s) of the switch/router and describe the infrastructure at your location. Do they just have drops in your room and pay the $60 a month or did they supply with you a router as well? and indeed it sucks when your ISP is the lowest bidder.

http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showto...st&p=631282 cdimage switches are similar i use -h -n -o -m -w2 (you may need the -u2 to make a UDF disc as recommended). I am sure there is a nice selection in the GUI that allows for this if it ends up being the issue.
-
I use cdimage command line. There is a nice GUI here tho http://unattended.msfn.org/unattended.xp/view/web/15/

I know you mean" 'working' experiences with your 'personal' server environment " that is if we would like to respect Nlites EULA, which we all indeed would.
-
Indeed, if this was a discussion about violating EULAs and potentially bricking your Wii we could have walked through all of waninkokos wonderful software. once again,

no need to 'add it' necessarily, just see if it installs without the switches. Since they are last anyway all other pieces should be there anyway, if they succeed you maybe just need a restart between 25 and 30. I always 'net stop msiserver' as well, though I'm sure shockwave lets go of the installer service nicely. It was just difficult to determine if you had already differentiated whether they were failing, or simply not installing with the given lines.....so I started stabbing.

http://www.overstock.com/search?keywords=w...on=Lowest+Price my wifes is a marlet I think. Its quite sturdy. I quite lied, its a maxxum. you can fit two inside easy, and that front part would still expand enough to hold a small animal. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ShowImage.as...el%20GA-7303-06

True that clu, I was more referencing the link as it seems to declare all is well rather than encouraging careful steps. Apologies if it appeared to be aimed at yours. Altiris worked fine with one of the old betas, but on the RC when i played with the booting virtual disks and dropped oracle, it messed the sheets.
