  1. Great idea. I have created a .Net Framework 3.0 installer, can be used as normal and silent installer. ofcourse 2.0 included since 3.0 is only an update of 2.0. Difference with most other installers is this one installs Dutch languagepack (for 2.0). Check signature for downloadlink.
  2. Well, if it's simply like this: extract files & perhaps register a few files, then you could easily create an installer that could also be used silently. I just tested your installer, if I'm correct it does this: extract files directly to their location (I LIKE THIS!) run a batchfile that will run the registry of files/shortcuts/launch the readme file. Correct? Then you could create a nice 7zip Installer, with the option to install silently with a switch. I could help you with this if you like. Send me a PM. About the Nero package itself, why did you leave out Mausau plugins? Now people cannot simply create audioCDs anymore (still many people who use them especially for carradio!). I have many archived AudioCDs in Flac or Ogg Vorbis format... Also I think I stick with Hp38user's Nero Lite cos people that use my uA CD like to create Labels and Covers as well.. so thats 2 things I would miss with your pack. I do wonder what the size difference would be if Mausau Plugins + Coverdesigner would be kept in your pack.
  3. 3rd party or Nero apps (recode, vision) need NeroAPI, too? Only 3rd party applications I think. Nevertheless most home users don't need it. If Nero is decent enough they'll surely convert the NeroAPI-dependant software to Unicode as well in future updates. So leaving out the ANSI stuff would not be a problem Perhaps this is a good reason to update to the new Nero.. usually I don't update since it works just fine
  4. I never use Rapidshare anymore.. their website is so unclear. Files.to always worked perfectly. Unfortunately they are becoming more popular (didn't even had ads at first). And since a few weeks I experience the same as you. Via this nice blog I found another one, similar to the clean and user-friendly interface as files.to. But this one works. I updated the link
  5. Uhm sure. I use more stuff for my own Windows, things that are also in Windows Vista. Like Vista Drive, VistaTooltips, Y'zShadow, Y'zToolbar, Taskswitch and LClock. Still my Windows starts up faster then after installing with the Original WinXP CD I read somewhere the Vistadrive folder should be in the Windows folder, So I placed it in Windows\Resources folder because this folder also contains Themes. I placed Y'zToolbar and Y'zShadow also in that folder. Only VistaTooltips and Taskswitch have an installer so they are in Program Files. Modify the regtweak if you place the folder of VistaDrive somewhere else. BTW, Vistadrive starts up and shuts down at Windows Startup. It's NOT a background process! Download VistaDrive HOWTO: Add this code to your regtweaks or whatever and extract the 7z file to Windows\Resources. Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 ;================================================ ;startup with Windows, for all users ;================================================ ;start YzShadow & YzToolbar & VistaDriveStatus & VistaTooltip & Taskswitch [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] "VistaDrive"="\"C:\\Windows\\Resources\\VistaDrive\\vsdrv.exe\"" EDIT: And to view the size of folders graphically, the tool that views it the *best* way is Overdisk, check it out yourself. http://users.forthnet.gr/pat/efotinis/programs/overdisk.html I still use the FolderSize Extension if I want to see the size in numbers (it adds a tab on the Properties of a folder). Well now you guys now almost all my secrets I've been using for my Windows. I'll probably never switch to Vista unless future usefull functionality will be restricted for Vista (HDCP, DirectX10).
  6. There is EQ, but it's dependant on the skin wether it's visible in the menu. I can't change anything about this, you should contact the person who created the skin. I hate it even the very nice SimplicityClear skin (standardly selected in the Masculin version) doesn't have Equalizer option in the menu. The other skins do have it. Search google/yahoo for the skin and you'll find the creator. So this is an issue of the skin, not a winamp thing or eLite version bug.
  7. So if I want IE6 support, I should keep using Beta1? I never use WMP so don't care about that, never use IE either. But does this also mean the file icons will not be updated for files associated with these programs?
  8. too bad titou2k doesn't update his ReaLite and QTLite players anymore. Luckely there are also Real & Quicktime Alternative Lite versions available. But I trust titou2k's installers more.. they are also a bit smaller. @Marlby23: Why not use Winamp for your MP3 player? It supports your MTP player! see my link for a nice winamp below
  9. I am using Vistadrive, it shows a blue/darkblue/red line corresponding to how much space has been used. The only thing I miss: it doesn't show the line for USB sticks. screenshot: http://pixhost.eu/avaxhome/avaxhome/2006-0...sta_Drives_.jpg It's hard to find it online though, unless you know Russian. I'll upload it if anyone wants (its a small standalone .exe file that has to run at windows startup).
  10. Hi Kalavera, I wonder if you have an update for xpizesettings.
  11. I use to have this problem (and assigning a manual IP was indeed a workaround), not just with wireless, also with normal LAN. But don't have it anymore (since 2 years or so..) Make sure you use SP2 + RyanVM's updatepack.
  12. (not sure if you have to STOP the music first) Rightclick on the Playbutton and deselect "Play on selection". This is not skin dependant. It was first part of a plugin (SingleClick'n'Play) but I think it's buildin Winamp now, not sure if I had to add it manually. It can be handy, but especially when you are moving around songs in your playlist it can be very unhandy. Also interesting: rightclick the Stopbutton (no matter if music is playing or not). You have fade-out option and standby/shutdown after playlist options
  13. RockXP method would only work for 1 pc, if you use your cd on a totally different system you still have to activate. My method works on all computers. No problems with WGA or Windows Update. The only thing you need is some decency to use the cd only if people have a valid license
  14. Thanks for the quick reply, but never mind! It's not because of the Great nLite I found the problem: I need KB883667, without it I get popups on a laptop. I have Dutch Windows so I got the Dutch version of the KB. --> But when installing the Driverpacks into my setup, it checks for this KB, and it "unslipstreams" it when found! The consequence of this action is that there is no newdev.dl_ file anymore in the i386 folder. Already posted it in the driverpacks forum.
  15. Heyall. During the first stage of Setup, when all files are copied to harddisk, I get the error "newdev.dll" missing, check CD etc. When I check the disc, the file is indeed missing. When using 1.2 with an almost identical ini, the newdev.dll file is still in i386 folder. LAST_SESSION.INI
  16. I am actually against a "regtweaks" part in nLite/vLite, it's better users have their .reg file so they now And realize wich tweaks they use. But hey, I like Segoe UI, and ofcourse 1 font is better then 4 for the GUI. So it's better if people use this tweak. And since most people like to use the regtweaks part of the tool, it would be nice if this was at least an option.
  17. Whua, so sweet. But uhhm I am a man you know? Oh perhaps you do... Sorry, I have this prejudice, I always assume people on MSFN forums (and most other software related sites) are guys, not girls. So after all this time I now realize PixelatedEmpire is a she! So let's have kiddies (actually I don't like having them I think, making them is not a problem )
  18. This DX is an installer that runs during setup, it doesn't integrate in your Windows. Especially for Windows XP, it is a waste of CD/DVD space to use the full installers that are presented in this topic. B)--> QUOTE(chris.b @ Dec 22 2006, 03:37 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>You could take Serebys DirectX Slipstream that integrates only the newest files of the december release. You have to keep DX in nlite of course and it's a direct Slipstream no silent installer. It really integrates, replacing files with the newest version (DX december). So it's not an installer. It will hardly use more space on your cd/dvd. Since it integrates and updates your DX files, it's not meant for Windows2000 since 2000 doesn't have DX. So the installers in this topic are good for Windows2000. And Sereby's integration pack is good for XP.

  20. Since when? Are you talking about XP? cos it's certainly not a part of Windows 2000 (which is what I use). In fact i STILL have not found a way to get DX slipstreamed into Windows without problems. Always have been, as far as I know! My original CD already has SP2. Maybe that's why? I don't know.
  21. Nuhi said in his first post he would give information about the new things (Auditing, DirectX etc.) later. I assume it is possible to remove DirectX 9.0, wich is a part of Windows. I wonder, if it is possible to remove DirextX, is it also possible then to update the DirectX files with the newest DirectX? I mean really integrate... not with the quasi "Add-on" method, those things are just silent installers. I know it's possible with HSFSLIP, but my CD is finished for a while, runs fast and works just fine. Not going to learn something new just for DirectX.
  22. I have a valid license as well, but I don't like the whole Activation thing AT ALL. So I've been using some sort of *crack*, wich I apply silently, unattendedly Goes a lot faster, send a pm for info, not for the crack ofcourse.
  23. And I am too lazy to make screenies, upload them to imageshack or whatever, edit my html files and upload them to my webhost But it will be done soon when I am in a not-so-lazy mood.
