  1. yes, the setup.iss file MUST be in the same directory as the program.exe as 2 minimize problems.. also should be TweakUI regards
  2. i agree it would be quite helpful, but someone that u give the password 2 may decide 2 "toy" with the account.. so its not a fool proof plan .. none the less, id be up 2 try it out & see how it goes

  4. sounds like u have a bad harddrive.. aslong as your pc is under warranty dell is obligated 2 replace it.. i would give them a call NOTE: i would install XP Pro FRESH, not an upgrade.. try doing that regards

REG ADD %KEY%\005 /V 1 /D "%systemdrive%\Program Files\WinRar\wrar330.exe /s that is incorrect.. thats pointing 2 where the program is located... the .exe file has a predefined path that it will install 2.. which is program files\winrar.. u are just telling setup where 2 look for the file so say u have C:\Install as where u put all your programs u would put REG ADD %KEY%\005 /V 1 /D "%systemdrive%\Install\wrar330.exe /s hope this explains a bit, goto http://unattended.msfn.org for more info regards

  11. batch file is probly the easiest if your new .. all u need 2 do is put [GuiRunOnce] %Systemdrive%\Install\Apps\Myfile.bat & in the .bat file put all your files u want installed.. start /wait programname.extension /switch example: start /wait firefox.msi /qn hope this helps, as simonsays goto http://unattended.msfn.org for further help

  15. hi.. i dont understand what u said verywell, sorry.. my suggestion is.. if installrite cant do it for u, record the changes made via RegSnap & use a program installer, like INNO Setup or another 1 & have it install the reg entries regards

  18. @ShakeNotStirr i suggest u look @ the unattended forums, u can easily do this by making a .reg tweak 2 run on your pc during install of xp, or u can use the build in commands in the winnt.sif file, please also refer 2 http://unattended.msfn.org hope this helps

  20. u could make a script that would set the appropriate reg entries & start task scheduler, ive never done this, but it sounds logical

  23. ive not noticed any slowness, make sure u have your .xml file perfect? meaning no extra lines or anything that may cause it 2 hang? i spose u could call xplode, as its just an exe regards
  24. u probly didnt search right? example: search with "AnyDate" instead of "last 30 days" then type virtual +pc +vmware shows on mine 3rd topic regards
  25. i suggest using autoit & compile it using its default compile application, it couldnt be easier EDIT: goto http://unattended.msfn.org & a link 2 it is there, then just read the help file associated with the program gives examples & all
