@nujackk, first, you don't need to unrar anything, just drag&drop. second, since this was written about 6 months ago (for 1.0), line numbers can change but you can just search for those lines. third, you don't need cleanup, the batch file will delete itself and the contents of the dir. last, if your profile is placed with exactly the same path as before you don't need to reinstall extensions, if not, yes you need it @durex, this night or tomorrow a new version of the installer will come out without version and language independant @fluid, same as before moox needs a bit more work since it is mostly a zip file here is the changelog:

looks pretty amazing!

i just redid the first animation, i liked the first design @XPero, nice competitor we've here @MSNwar, haha! that's great, MSFN shared browsing!
-
from http://gnu.mirrors.ilisys.com.au/ and i didn't say closed source was more or less secure, i said microsoft policy is "windows is more secure because is not an open source system"
-
i've seen this before, a year ago or so... there are some programs that can convert a .mpg movie to html ascii animation. there's specially 1 interesting for linux, but i can't remember the name
-
well it depends on the time i'm listening to it, from Mariah Carey / U2 to Chemical Bros. / Garbage. I also like some songs by Metallica or Avril Lavigne

1st try: 7zip +switchless 1st page will show what you wanted and 2nd will show an interesting result: [release] 7zip Sfx Modules, Custom Icons, No Cancel Button search is ok you only have to know how to use it

use an older/newer version of upx. if you tried 1.25 then use latest beta and viceversa

this is my longhorn desktop (xp sp2). just using avedesk, the "glass trick" and a couple of skins @XPerties, if you want a new look you can try the "longhorn transformation pack" that includes a couple of themes that i love. if you want to go further you can search for "aveshell", its intention is to replace explorer shell with a new shell over samurize and avedesk. it's a bit messy but the final look is amazing
-
yes the .msi file Orus was refering to are just hacks to enable/disable certain things over longhorn (leak 4074). this is a pure xp system. if you download the msstyles you can find a tutorial on how to create your "glass" taksbar, but it is just a trick of reshacking. edit: forgot 1 thing, about the 250mb download on microsoft site, they're just libraries based on avalon alphas. i wish when avalon goes final we can have that technology on our xp based systems with some cool new visual effects
-
that is only for longhorn about what you talked about (transparency on msstyles) is not possible. people use a "cheat", you replace a bmp on the style matching the wallpaper so it "appears" that taskbar is transparent, but if you change wallpaper or resolution then everything will be f**** there's NO way at the moment to have that cool effect on xp (at least without using a 3rd party app that i haven't seen at the moment)...
-
i'm pretty sure that theme is a longhorn concept. meaning you won't find exactly that theme with those transparent areas. you can find a similar one named "longhorn aero"; specifically you can search for "Longhorn Aero UI day". wallpaper looks like leaf (1280x1024 version) at the moment i haven't found an accurate imitation of the sidebar but dashboard sidebar does the work pretty good
-
now think on microsoft policy: windows is more secure because is not an open source system like unix desktops... if we combine this with the idea of longhorn running on an unix based kernel, then we got that this is mostly imposible

google is my favorite big company

yeah i understand that, i don't want another operating system, i only want to restore/recover files from a ntfs partition on my sata drive. i got this with bartpe and it wasn't possible (at least easy) with winpe. PEBuilder: Start-menu - with XPe plugin you got exactly the same interface that with winpe. a taskbar, startmenu and you can call any program from the run dialog plus the classic customizable nu2menu PEBuilder: Dos support - full DOS support PEBuilder: 64-Bit - i'm not a fan of 64bits, there even isn't a full 64bits system so for me and for the 85% (maybe more) of desktops users this is unnecessary PEBuilder: Network support - most of what you need, you probably can configure a local net sharing and with plugins you can add drivers for your modem (if they're not included on sp2) PEBuilder: Build from - is a really nice advantage. i could use my uA CD to build my PE system, meaning that all what i integrated on my uA is also integrated on my PE system: mass storage support, system files hacks and replacements...
-
@ribond, you obviously didn't used the XPe plugin by Sherpya
-
lol! XPero gaves an opion and then you boast you used his logo?? this is not the best way to enter a forum. if you used his logo be ready to recive his critic he said that because it looks so... disfocused? probably you used the 128x128 icon as the base. next time you better ask for permission first or if not, at least be humble
-
@tjhart85 in that case sorry, i misunderstood when you said "...it will create a profile that works, BUT if I copy this default profile to a new FRESH installation of FireFox1.01..." yes it is supposed to work that way
-
@tjhart85, never try to copy a profile over another since on some files are stored fullpaths. i think you'd better re-do the entire process
