  1. i personally "like" it the same i like .net or any other programming language. pros: easy programming; useful on the internet cons: programs based on java take too much resources; security risk
  2. i doubt it will beat ps3... or at least the cell processor lol
  3. i was forced to post because i'm a great fan of elm street's movies from my personal experience, pinnacle (http://www.pinnaclesys.com/) is a good brand to start. my tv capture card is a PCTV (non-pro) and works flawlessly under win9x. mine is internal but i'm sure there's a USB version. about XP vs. 98 and such, well, at the moment there's no problem on upgrading. you'll only need to find updated versions of your drivers and mostly ALL the brands will have on their websites
  4. ...been looking for decent MSN IM client for a long time... ...something without that much bloat that messenger comes with and all the default functionalities... ...maybe this is where to start...
  5. of2k3 doesn't support win9x if you find something like a hack to install it on older OSs, then most of the stuff won't run correctly and this is a double edged sword as of2k3 has also too much bloat for a low-specs system...
  6. maybe you don't need to know programming, maybe a little of batch coding: make a file list of all the archives present on your system, then write a batch file to copy those files to an alternative location and that's all
  7. ok, at your request, "A good number of" Notepad++ Extensions first post is really big and difficult to read. we better keep some code linked, this way you can update your post if you like to add/remove stuff and i can mantain the original post readable
  8. really cool addon linking... [edit]done![/edit]
  9. i haven't had any problems with it, btw i know there's an update that fixes a couple of serious problems (mostly multiplayer issues).
  10. welcome to the forum serpiko what you mean? your full desktop (screen image) is moved over the left side or is that your start menu button is now smaller... only happens with luna? do you mean default luna style from microsoft or luna lite? other themes? you mean other themes on xpize pack... ?
  11. well, it just depends on your needs personally now i'm looking for gaim plugins -i've read on the requests section of the official page that they're not going to implement some bloat stuff from msn7 like winks- so if you know about a page with plugins that add new msn7 functionalities, please post it
  12. no idea, but if you still want to disable those services click start>run and type "services.msc" without quotes, from there you can disable the necessary services. CAREFUL: maybe you'll need those services!
  13. http://steammachine.com/trainz/artfiles/ this page has nothing to do with your purpose BUT it explains how to create an image with an alpha layer and save it as 32bits.
  14. bginfo
  15. some useful links... http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showto...office++windows (this is the method i created and works perfectly) http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showto...ws++apps++batch http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showto...office++windows advice: search the board for more info
  16. create a new alpha layer and save the image as 32bits bmp, you should find many tutorials and more info searching the net welcome mate!
  17. miranda is a really buggy prog. it's something you could use if you're forced to. gaim is the best alternative i've found (including the resource-hungry trillian) but it's missing a couple of things like winks, deluxe display pictures and mp3 title display. maybe on a couple of months...
  18. http://www.netdisaster.com/ http://www.netdisaster.com/go.php?mode=din.../www.google.com ps: doesn't work with msfn lol
  19. correct translation is the one from babelfish, and the one you must use free-translator is also correct, but literally correct, meaning those are the words but they're not properly used on that phrase.
  20. @chezy666, you can always replace the default login with that one
  21. i always miss members birthdays happy b-day dude! i wish you all the best for this day
  22. hahahaha! ok, a couple of things you need to have in mind: english and spanish are similar on some words but really different on structure. common phrases hello: hola how are you?: ¿como estas? how old are you?: ¿cuantos años tienes? where are you from?: ¿de donde eres? bye: adios if you want to translate a specific word use http://babelfish.altavista.com/ but be sure to don't translate a full phrase. an interesting software is "power translator", it had help me a lot of times while translating from english but it's not perfect (as you can see on most of my posts lol). now if you have questions or something feel free to ask
  23. happy to serve the communitty it is nice to see how this thread can still help
  24. i've finally managed to install longhorn on m$ virtual pc. just 2 advices.... format the partition you're going to use with a 3rd party software like partition magic (there's a free version for DOS). be sure that filesystem is ntfs. lastly let the virtual machine at least 256mb of ram. that's all edit: 3k posts happy to be here on the comunity
