i'm not sure if the ZS drivers work in any live! card but the solution could be that not all the live! models have a digital output. in driversheaven.net most of the people say that they work perfect but obviously the features not implemented by hardware will not work (like if u want to use 5.1 and EAX technology with common PC speakers) @Bâshrat i like your new avatar and i'm waiting for your new version

i already had the "StartMenuInit"=2 key in my reg file but i didn't know for what it was used. i simply read somewhere in this forum that u can set your custom xp menu tweaking your existing menu and exporting the [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced] root. always that i have tested my setup i found the MFU programs list empty and now i know why it was (i call my regtweaks from cmdlines.txt). @[bM]Crusher thanks because they work

after a few minutes i found a torrent name called "Emulador PearPC + Mac OS X 10.3.4 instalado en imagen de disco (en inglés)". of course i will not put the .torrent file but this shows it is possible with PearPC because in the info i found a screenshot from the PearPC web site (note that u will need to run mac os x from a windows system)

yes i did memtest from DOS but only until 100%. also i did memtest from xp (windows version), after running near the 30000% showed no errors this time (i think the first memory problem was because i had ABC and MSN running together with memtest)

what about showing a determinate number of frecuently programs?? for example show only 3 or 4 shortcuts to frecuent programs

@XtremeMaC ok. i'll try to change the SATA conector or do a more intensive HD check, also i'll try FAT32 for a time if that works. @Deezire i have heard about that problem with audigy but that only affect audigy 1 player cards and via chipsets. mine it's an audigy 2 player with an nforce2 based chipset (i thought that long time ago and i changed the card from the first pci to the last pci ) thanks both for reply

imagine the HD it's failing, will that cause that blue screen?? this is curious because it's the first time in 10 years with a pc that i see that lighter blue screen and the sound simply hangs. have anyone found that BS anytime??

more replies well as i said in the first post currently i'm running xp sp1 2600.xpsp2. for now i will discard a HD problem, NTFS it's a good file system and checkdisk has not detected any problem never. i also use diskeeper for defrag jobs and another time it never have found an error. i downloaded the memtest util and i'll post results. thank u all

another time thanks for your fast replies. i would thought like you if i had the problem from the moment i overclocked something for the first time but it wasn't. i start overclocking to try to solve the blue screen problem (i know it sounds stupid but downclock didn't gave me any result comparing stability/speed). i still think it can be a problem with the GPU or RAM but i don't have any other card/memory module so i can't test it. if u have any idea (ANY STUPID, SIMPLY OR CRAZY IDEA) please let me know.

sorry for posting because i found a solution myself. if you point to firefox .exe with the %PROGRAMFILES% switch the top start menu shortcut won't work but don't know why pointing the %PROGRAMFILES% switch to Components and Plugins works simply change the above code to:

i've got this error when i try to install office 2003 unattended after this regkey all worked great: but without it, the internet shortcut in top start menu don't point to firefox. any ideas??

first thanks for your reply, u are trying to help and that it's sufficient for me for now i think the most suitable reason it's a ram problem but changing the timmings to a more stable configuration doesn't work and RAM tests in PCMark04 are ok (i don't know any other application that can test mems) i use a nocd .exe in moh and if the problem only appeared in that game i would be happy because the .exe can cause an exception but playing other games like simpsons hit and run, winning eleven... etc sometimes cause too what i would name "the light blue screen" so i think it could be only an opengl problem but the error it's the same in directx games, opengl games and working with xp (this last it's not usual) electricity?? i haven't think of that but althought i mess with the cpu's voltages, i only take up it to 1.7v and now all the voltages are left by default (minimal). maybe some component is damaged but that suppose expend money and i don't want to trust it . now i have lost any ideas and i wonder what more can i test. i still think that blue screen it's caused by a hardware problem but all the test i have done let me think it's a software problem.

this happens from months, i have a blue screen (not the common BSOD it's a lighter blue and it don't show adresses etc, it's only blue) when: playing moh spearhead (80%), we7 (10%), exploring my pc (5%) or xvid encoding (5%) (i think when doing intense use of the cpu because they're not common tasks between them). also a screen-freeze can replace the blue screen but that's not habitual. i've tried: updating all my drivers, updating firmware of motherboard, GPU (tried firmware from gigabyte and from ati) and CDRW (HP9110 -> CRX140E), all the windows update (currently i'm running xp sp1), changing all the bios parameters to default and all the settings, format, change the position of the pci card, changing irqs to auto and assign them ... all of this did not work. i'll try to explain what i think: it's a hardware problem because format didn't work but in w98se i don't have this problem. i thought it was a problem with the graphic card but catalyst from 3.6 to 4.5 do the same, also tried firmwares from ati and overclock and downclock. next i dowclock the processor and the error disappeared... no it's still there but less frecuently, overclocking the processor (actually fsb:200x11.5 and volt:1.650) it's the same as living it by default (fsb:200x10.5 and volt:1.650). next i thought in a memory problem and memtest shows an error after lot of hours but that's not the problem becase although the memory it's overclocked after 15 min logged in and playing moh, it can happen (note that playing moh multiplies the possibilities of the blue screen). now i don't have any ideas and none can help me. i think i've read a lot of solutions and tried them with no results. finally i can work with the cpu weeks/days and nothing occurs and i can suddendly start an apps and blue screen! see my specs down and thanks for any reply. ps: i forgot one thing pcmark2004, 3dmark01, 3dmark03, aquamark3 and sandra 2004 finish their benchmarks without errors (only 1% of errors wich i think it's caused by the same that cause the other problems)

i don't think like u. i have used ie, opera, netscape, mozilla, VNC and now firefox. and the last one it's the best. only a few pages (3/100 or so) don't like firefox. ie takes a lot of resources, u can't use multitab and it's a very unstable/unsecure browser compared to firefox. for all of the features that firefox have i give thanks for gecko and i pray for that ie would be removed from future windows releases.

i have a volcano 12+ (usually between 4000rpms because more rpms means an annoying noise). with no aditional cooling 40º-50º in winter. later i bought 2 fans front, 2 fans left and a fan in the side. and i got from 36º-45º. the most important it's that the agp card has note the change (the side fan do the job from 46º to 37º). the fans are lighten and they give a cool look . the answer it's that your temps are not too higher but expending a few bucks can help u a lot and will take up the life of your processor/hardware.

there is no "magical" program to improve perfomance in any game. i had a 667mhz with 192mb ram and a 64mb intel 82810 video based card and i can't run any game from 2 years to now up from 640x480. all the new games use H&L a feature only implemented in the gforce or recently radeon cards. so the first u must to it's spend a few bucks on a gforce 4 mx card (i know this could be expensive if you think x10), because high-end cards will not be featured with an old CPU. only 32mb of video will not be enough to make playable games like Vice city , Medal of honor & Call of duty. finally as important as the video card it's the RAM if you have less than 256mb think in another update.

this is the first time i post in this subforum well i mess with PEBuilder a few months ago and built my custom WinPE but know i'm working on my first unattended installation. my question: does anyone know how to autoalign icons on desktop?? i know that this is not the forum but i have done this question before in the unattended forum and i haven't got any replies. so i want to know how "PE-Guys" make their custom desktops with custom shortcuts, and mess up with icons (sizes, locations etc) and the most important for me, how to store them in a custom location of the desktop. i think this will help me thank u all

@wolfshade show status windows option it's grayed always in notepad activated and deactivated but know i want to know something, where it's stored the "line auto adjust" option in the registry??!! i don't know how it's named in english, it's under the format menu

@Keynan here it's what i use: this reg file must put all your visualfx enabled so you must change to dword:00000000 to disable them. also u must change the key below to yours. the best way it's use regedit to navigate to your keys and export them. finally i must say that this tweaks does NOT work for me. if i go to visualfx properties they are all activated and set like i want but this it's not applied by windows don't know why . after i clic ok in the dialog they are applied. hope i've help u

i think the same use the RD /S /Q command here: but i think u won't be able to delete them because they are protected by WFPS (Windows File Protection System) u can bypass this using nLite and marking "Disable SFC", or simply download the hacked .dll file from herealso the psshutdown maybe stopping the delete process here: but i think the most probably it's that the drivers folder maybe in use by windows (i have this problem) so u can try to use this comands on the first reboot
