Everyone just wants their own forums now..... nLite would have caused alittle conflict if it stayed in the Unattended forum, as people woud say that something was wrong with their setup when they used nLite and it was something caused by it. If something goes wrong with the Office isntallation, it's that you used Office Shrink or you're just plain doing it wrong. you're correct but it would be util to have it in the contributed projects section because there we can put a thread of bugs, another one for improvement or questions or anything, a single thread with all of this and releases will finally be as nLite 60 pages and u can't find anything another time thanks

another time search didn't work and i'm sure this maybe in the registry tweaks thread but there are too many pages. my problem it's that i want to use firefox as my default internet browser and hotmail as my default web mail system. the shortcuts at the top start menu (not classic) always show internet explorer and outlook and i want to change them. i exported the settings from my taskbar and that works but only for the links menu in the right side and for the programs menu. i wasn't able to change these 2, also i want to make firefox my default web browser and don't know how (i think putting it at the top start menu and openning it, will display the "would you like to make firefox your default web browser?" and after this it will do it alone). thanks for replies

muaaahahahahahahahhahaaa!! finally shrinkage complete and unattended installation of office2003 spanish complete!! it should work for an unattended full installation but i haven't test it yet. u can now edit the 1st post and add shrink_span as the final version. hope this can help to develop the shrink tool in any language other than spanish simply changing the path to files. finally thanks to buckeyeXP for his interest in the problem (if you still want the logs let me know and i'll send them by mail).

finally i reduced my drivers from 86,7 MB (91.001.153 bytes) to 26,9 MB (28.292.714 bytes) and with all the posibilities of this and the office shrink tool in spanish i'll include nvidia drivers (what if i buy a nvidia card sometime ) and many more things. @Alanoll too many threads and posts to search

same problem as i got, how reduce the source of the drivers?? there are a lot of things in the cd that aren't needed, like applications unnecessary and necessary applications but in a lot of languages, i think they can be reduced but down 100mb?? not sure. at this time i can't test the actual audigy drivers because i've got the audigy card in this pc and use the other one to test installations. as soon as i got some free space i'll create a partition to test a new unatteded xp os.

mmmm... interesting. i have an unattended xp sp1, after testing i note sometimes that some services didn't start, for example when i try to share my HD with the other local PC it says that the share services it's not active or disabled bla bla bla and after an assistant it starts again (i thought this was a bad regtweak or so), but before yesterday after installing my custom themes by a rar sfx at the end of the setup process, windows log in and it displayed a message "can't load bla bla bla theme because theme service it's not started" (?) reinstalled xp and the service theme started without no problems with the same cd (??) xfiles?? someone can explain me it??

if you included aditional drivers delete them and look how the installation works, if not VMWare it's a emulator pc not the real pc so think in use partition magic and create another drive of 2Gb for example, then buy a CDRW and test it again (maybe it hungs because the problem it's it can't detect the hardware well enough in VMWare)

not all recorders can burn over 800mb (my HP9110 flashed to sony CRX140E can only burn until the 730mb with a 800mb cd). i don't remember when i read it but there is a list with supported drives for 800mb disks, google it and look for alternative methods like cdimage, compress the source or simply using daemon tools: i put 2 images not bigger than 350mb each in the same cd, include daemon tools and load the image from the cd it works like charm

i'm interested in the section about compressing the drivers i've never heard about that and search shows too many threads. anyone can explain it step by step or post the link to the original thread??

forget everything in every post before this: 1.- open .exe language file with winrar and extact it to a temp folder. 2.- delete setup.exe setup.cfg and \setup\ folder (if you don't delete this will be unpacked to \Ahead\ folder) 2.- create new rar file and mark "create sfx file" 3.- comment tab>enter command manually and copy/paste this 4.- place and entry calling your installation %path%\nerolanguagefile.exe /s easy enought?? note ahead folder it's default installation path in program files. that's all pd: sorry SolidasRock i can't understand what do you want but i think now it's clearly

at this time i'm sure: i'm getting crazy with this . when all appears to be solved another time it fails. there are 2 files; office2_Task(0001).txt and office.log are the logs of the office shrink (it still asks for some .aw files in the 3082 folder that it can't find), the other one it's named MyApp Setup(0001)_Task(0002).txt (after giving office shrink the .aw files needed it says "shrinkage complete" and when i try to install unattended it suddenly stops without giving any error, i generate that log file, can u help me??). the problem it's that files are too bigger to upload them to the forum, i'll try to send u by mail and copy the smallest also i forget 2 things, i found that no taskbar icon is displayed during the process and why this post is not in the member contributed projects??!! office.log;

probably you got a 10in1 version of office, try to run the administrative installation from the cd and only about 600mb are copied to the HD

u can imagine how happy i am now it works mostly perfect but... i still have some problems let me explain: probably files in spanish are stored in the 3082\ folder so office shrink looks them in the english folder and for a few files it displays the error 1308. they're not a lot but a few. i think this is a issue easy to solve and i'm taking note of the files that prompts the error (my installation it's minimal so i'll need to run the full unattended installation and take note of all the files). it's nearly perfect with a few improvements it will be the final spanish office shrink tool *curious that all the files with 1308 error have the extensions .aw maybe .exe files?? well quickfix it's to copy all the files with extension *.aw from the source office folder \3082\ to target office folder \3082\ also for buckeyeXP here it's the list of files that office shrink tool need to look in that folder (and now for the final version ): 3082\ acmain10.aw ado210.aw dao360.aw fm20.aw graph10.aw infmain.aw mse10.aw msqry32.aw mstore10.aw oismain.aw olmain10.aw pbmain10.aw ppmain10.aw vbaac10.aw vbaof10.aw vbaol10.aw vbapb10.aw vbapp10.aw vbawd10.aw vbaxl10.aw veen3.aw wdmain10.aw workfunc.aw xlmain10.aw

i have tested my installation several times in my other pc. i have a local net and the last time i tried to configure it. when i opened the HD properties to share it i found a message that sounds like "windows have disabled access in local net bla bla bla. you can share bla bla bla and rehabilitate it by following this assistant". after finishing the assistant the net it's available but why it's produced?? maybe because i disable remote desktop support?? what regtweak i need to search?? i use the command line version of reg-antispy to disable remote desktop, can cause it this?? finally i have another question to fill my post how can i autoalign the icons of my desktop (or change their position [i hate the recycle in the right down corner and the other icons in top left])?? thanks for any reply

Bâshrat will you add support for the Audigy 2 ZS drivers?? i mean there is a tweak that let you use this drivers in any SB card (live! and up). this will reduce the size of the final compressed file and let us enjoy the sofware features of A2ZS

my problem it's sameless i've got the sintaxis but it's used by another process (explorer.exe). how can i RD \Archivos de programa\MSN Gaming Zone\Windows??* *note that i can install windows in diferent drives so RD /S /Q "%systemdrive%\Archivos de programa\MSN Gaming Zone" should work if it's not used by windows

mines work great and it's easy to find a fix: if u use a non-english native version of windows use the name of your administrators group for example: @echo off net user BioHaZaRD /add net localgroup ADMINISTRADORES BioHaZaRD /add net accounts /maxpwage:unlimited REGEDIT /S autologon.reg EXIT because i'm spanish the group ADMINISTRATORS have to be renamed to ADMINISTRADORES

it's not what your looking to but if you want to test it naming your PC the same as your user will create that account limited

well currently i'm building an unattended cd with sp1 slipstreamed my questions is: the changes i did to uxtheme.dll TXTSETUP.SIF svcpack.inf DOSNET.INF may revert in a bad slipstreming of SP2?? how many space more in the install cd will it take?? i haven't test it yet because the beta releases are still in english. in conclusion how many things i've changed in the sp1 installation will need a fix when slipstreaming sp2??

i did it by using the hacked uxtheme.dll (u can find it at http://unattended.msfn.org/index.htm) and i did a rar sfx with my themes that it's extracted to \Windows\Resources\Themes.
