Pretty much the same as what mine has so the power supply is providing enough power... try memtest, or take out one stick of ram and see what happens, then try the other stick by itself.

I have an optiplex GX 150 and never had this issue. Which one do you have? The small form factor, desktop, or tower? What are your PC specs? The power supply might be going or like puntomx said, the fans may not be working and it is overheating.

Heya I have ccleaner and it works fine for me. I have never had an issue with ccleaner and the registery cleaner is good. Maybe I will try that other program too. Does anyone know which one came out first? One is a rip of the other.

Should be plenty mate. On nvidia's website it says the 9800GX2 needs at least a 580W PSU so yours is fine. I am running the PC in my sig on a generic no-name 400W PSU right now LOL!!! Edit: As long as you have both an 8 pin and a 6 pin PCIe power connector it will work. Plus if the card is for the PC in your sig then your CPU doesnt use much power and you only have the one hard drive.

Yeah thats fine. I have used the same nLited CD on different computers before with no problems. But you have to have two licenses for installing XP on more than 1 PC and two CD keys. MS don't care if you use the same CD, you just need a license for each PC.

annoying thing like its UAC. Yes UAC is very annoying but you will have an easy option to disable it in Windows 7 so its good to see MS listening to people.

I have got to say, Windows XP's built in defragger works fine for me. It is simple, and although it can't do much really and only increases performance by a very small amount on my system, it does the job. On computers like mine which gets a registry clean, virus clean, spyware clean, driver sweep every time new drivers are installed etc, it doesn't do much but on slower PC's with a lot of junk on them it can help a bit. I have heard good thinks about diskeeper and will probably end up trying that out to get max performance.

You can buy an xbox 360 controller for PC and I think they are also compatible with an xbox 360 if you have one. I just use keyboard and mouse, but if you are used to a controller then I guess it would be easier for games until you ease into using a keyboard/mouse.

USB stick is what I call it. But sometimes I say USB key or flash drive or just USB. Its just whatever comes to mind quickly. I don't know why calling them just "USB" is so bad. Most people understand what you are saying if you were to say "its on my USB", or "my USB is 2GB", so why say more? It is the most common USB device people seem to talk about anyway.

My vote goes straight to firefox. Been using it from the first version 2 and it is heaps better than IE. Fast and looks good, customizable, secure etc. I don't know about IE 8 though because I have not used it yet but will soon.

I like XP heaps ATM but Vista has definitely improved. If you have SP1, and all the latest updates and components, its not too bad at all. Just has a lot of annoying things that can be fixed by reading online or visiting http://www.tweakguides.com/VA_1.html

Just upgraded my net plan: Advertised: 1500/256 with a 10gb cap. After 10gb it is shaped to 64k. Uploads are not counted and there is a large amount of un metered content not to mention amazing tech support. But here in Aus internet is so expensive. $50 per month for that. And again, this is probably the best ISP in Aus and is a good value plan even if you may be getting this plan for $20 a month in UK or USA.

Nice one man! Now I can tell anyone with Norton 2003 it really is a virus! I think they have made a lot of improvements with norton 360, but I remember the old ones as being slow and disliked.

That GTS 250 looks interesting. I just installed this driver, over the top of 182.06, and it works fine on the PC in my sig. Its always good to see things slowly improve for free with driver updates.

Yes but the people 1nfamous knows think you can run four physical gtx295's. As in, 4 x 2 cards on the one which makes eight GPU's which wont work. Edit: And with that quad slot mobo above, at the end of the article it said that nvidia did not have drivers to support quad sli, so they may be slotted in the slots, but is it not actually four cards running at once? Just because they are physically inserted into the mobo, do they actually all work? If not, then it can't be said to be a true quad graphics card slot mobo.

Could not happen. You could overclock the core and memory to be the same as a ti series card but the ti series cards have more vertex and pixel shaders which counts the most for graphic performance. BTW, the GF4 MX series cards actually only support DX 7, not 8.1. So that is why they are so slow with some DX 9.0C games!
