Hello Guys! Does anyone know how to activate AMON UA for NOD32? I've tried this and it doesn't work. [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Eset\Nod\Currentversion] "Amon_status"=dword:00000000 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Eset\Nod\CurrentVersion\Modules\AMON\Settings\Config000\Settings] "SP"="C:\\Program\\Eset\\" "enabled"=dword:00000001 "check_on_open"=dword:00000001 "check_on_rename"=dword:00000001 "check_on_execute"=dword:00000001 "check_on_create"=dword:00000001 "media_floppies"=dword:00000001 "media_network"=dword:00000001 "media_local"=dword:00000001 "boot_on_access"=dword:00000001 "boot_on_shutdown"=dword:00000001 "sec_clean"=dword:00000001 "sec_delete"=dword:00000001 "sec_rename"=dword:00000001 "sec_exclude"=dword:00000001 "sec_replace"=dword:00000001 "manualstop_enabled"=dword:00000000 "autorun_dynamic"=dword:00000000 "autoupd_notify"=dword:00000001 "exc"=hex:ff,ff,ff,ff "exc_num"=dword:00000000 Currently, my NOD32 is disable from the systray when I boot up for the first time which means that AMON is disabled. I want it to be visible and activated. Any ideas? Thanks in advance! Marthax

I think that you are going for a very good deal. AMD are the best CPUs for gaming and servers. Also, with the CnQ feature, you get less noise and heat when not using your computer. If you want less noise when you're not using your computer, I would strongly recommend the Athlon 64. I've red some guide about the Athlon 64 and they some to like it a lot. The Cool 'n Quiet seems to be a really nice feature, which I would like to have I'd say go for it. Check this review if you want confirmation. If you don't like linux and want Windows, use Windows 64-bit edition.

Disable My Music & My Pictures from My Documents
Marthax replied to Marthax's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
I don't use WMP. I use Itunes. It didn't work. I currently use this: regsvr32 /S /u mydocs.dll RD /S /Q "%userprofile%\My Documents\My Music" RD /S /Q "%allusersprofile%\My Documents\My Music" RD /S /Q "%userprofile%\My Documents\My Pictures" RD /S /Q "%allusersprofile%\My Documents\My Pictures" REG ADD "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders" /v "My Music" /t REG_EXPAND_SZ /d "" /f REG ADD "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders" /v "My Music" /d "" /f REG ADD "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders" /v "My Pictures" /t REG_EXPAND_SZ /d "" /f REG ADD "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders" /v "My Pictures" /d "" /f regsvr32 /S mydocs.dll and that doesn't work. I also tried out the thing that your (Yzöwl) program creates and by that I mean to create 2 files with the same name as the two folders. That didn't work either. Any other suggestions? EDIT: Great news guys! I got it to work! And I found a easier way to solve the whole thing. The problem wasn't the tweak, it was Itunes. I don't know why, but Itunes creates these folders when you turn it on, even if you redirect the music folder. I tried out the foobar2000 and the folders didn't popup. Problem solved! Here's what you need to do. Just insert this into your registry tweak file and it'll disable these folders. ;Disable My Music & My Pictures Folder [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer] "NoSMMyMusic"=dword:00000001 Thanks to you all for your replies -
It worked Thanks!

I didn't use those switches before, I'll try it out and perhaps this time, it'll work. thanks

That didn't work I used this ;Unregistering My Music & My Pictures regsvr32 /S /u mydocs.dll RD /S /Q "%userprofile%\My Documents\My Music" RD /S /Q "%allusersprofile%\My Documents\My Music" RD /S /Q "%userprofile%\My Documents\My Pictures" RD /S /Q "%allusersprofile%\My Documents\My Pictures" regsvr32 /S mydocs.dll REG ADD "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders" /v "My Music" /t REG_EXPAND_SZ /d "" /f REG ADD "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders" /v "My Music" /d "" /f REG ADD "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders" /v "My Pictures" /t REG_EXPAND_SZ /d "" /f REG ADD "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders" /v "My Pictures" /d "" /f and it didn't help a thing. If I listen to a song, these 2 folders pop up immediately. Any other ideas? -
Greetings to you all! I was wondering if anyone of you guys know how to disable this annoying popup? It popups up when the UA skype installation initiates which makes the installation Attended. Any Ideas? I found a thread about this, but it didn't get any answer so I created a new one and was hoping that maybe this time, someone will answer. I currently use the /SILENT - switch. Thanks in advance! Marthax

Try quoting the whole syntax. The file has so many characters that the whole syntax can be understood in the wrong way by the computer. BTW, what type of install are you using? RunOnce? If so, you don't need the "/wait" part.

That depends on what kind of memory each computer has. Size is not all that matters when it comes RAMs! For example. Take the Crucial Ballistix PC3200 512 Mb and a regular cheap Crucial Value 512 MB. The memories seem to be equal, but if you try them out in benchmarking, you will get amazed. The results are very different. Why? Because the Ballistix memory is so much faster then the Value one (they have better timings). 2-2-2-6 <--- Ballistix CL=3 <-- Value As you see here, the speeds are very different. This might seem as a very small difference, but in reality, it's quite huge. Different kind of memories with different speeds. That can be one answer to your question. There are so many things that you have to look at carefully to be able to answer your question. Also, do you have a computer that you have built on your own or is it a "brand" computer?
-
Between the first link (your own computer) and the other link (AMD) there's only a slight difference. Why? Because you have a better GPU, but a weaker CPU. The other computer has a weaker GPU, but a stronger CPU. When dealing with graphics, AMD outperforms Intel, but since you have a better GPU then the other computer, your computer wins as GPU is the most important part when dealing with graphics. The CPU itself is also important, but the major thing that is needed when dealing with graphic intense situations is the GPU. That is why your computer manages to score a higher result. If the other computer would have the same GPU as you, it would outperform your result.

Attended ? I want it to be unattended. What if I just use this: [Shell] CustomDefaultThemeFile="Complete Path to *.theme" Won't that do it?

Strange popup when using shutdown cmd
Marthax replied to Marthax's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
Now I see what the problem was. I used the -i and just as achdine menitioned, that's used for "remote computer stuffs" , which I don't need. I tried it out without the -i and it worked fine. The weird part is though that when I use this command in my RunOnceEx shutdown -f -r -t 10 I get nothing. RunOnceEx finishes and loads desktop. Why is this? I want it to restart, not continue. BTW, nice avatar Achdine. It gives me flashbacks EDIT: Never mind guys. It works now Thanks all! Regards, Marthax -
How do I?... execute at intallation.
Marthax replied to kingbuzzman's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
I don't even know if there's such a method that allows you to run a program during this time. First you have detachedprogram, then cmdlines, GuiRunOnce and finally RunOnceEx. At least, those are the ones that I know about. None of these methods allows you to run anything at that moment. The closest option would be the GuiRunOnce, but that will execute your program after the "Name and Organisation" wizard at the beginning. Perhaps someone else has a better idea. I would love to hear this too. -
Here it is http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=23751&st=0 all credit goes to eagle00789 for creating this great program

Disable My Music & My Pictures from My Documents
Marthax replied to Marthax's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
I tried out both of these methods and none of them worked for me . @Yzöwl: I tried your program and combined it with the "RD" command to clean out the folders, but that didn't help a thing. When Windows boots up the first time, both of these folders are there. @oioldman: I used this: regsvr32 /S /u mydocs.dll RD /S /Q "%userprofile%\My Documents\My Music" RD /S /Q "%allusersprofile%\My Documents\My Music" RD /S /Q "%userprofile%\My Documents\My Pictures" RD /S /Q "%allusersprofile%\My Documents\My Pictures" regsvr32 /S mydocs.dll but that didn't help it either. I added this to my cleanup file which executes using RunOnceEx. Am I doing something wrong perhaps? -
Hi all! When I use the shutdown command I get this strange message. I've never had this before, it's the first time I see it and I'm sure that I must've changed something with nLite that is causing this. The question is what. Or am I wrong? Is is something else that is causing this message to popup? Does anyone know how to solve this? Thank you in advance! Marthax

Oh, I see. Thx for enlightening me EDIT: That didn't work. I tried changing the entry to double "\", but it didn't help a thing. I still have the dull blue desktop background when my computer boots.
