  1. one more thing guys. What about the HKLM? Can I apply these kind of registry tweaks at any time during the UA Win Setup? EDIT: And if I want to execute some reg tweaks from cmdlines, will this be correct? "regedit /s "registrytweaks12.reg""
  2. The tuning program should be used if you want to tune the setting of cleartype. If the default setting is good enough, then use this reg tweak. Thanks a lot RyanVM . I didn't know that.
  3. Hi everyone! I've removed all visual effects from my Win Xp copy using nLite, meaning that I disabled all visual effects that can be activated in My computer -> advanced -> performance -> settings. Now, when I try activating ClearType using my registry tweak file during RunOnceEx, it doesn't result in anything at all. It's not applied. Why? If I go in manually, I can activate it, but if I try using the registry tweak it doesn't work. This is what I use: ;Enable ClearType for ALL Users [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop] "FontSmoothingType"=dword:00000002 Does anyone know how to fix this? Cheers, Marthax
  4. Did you download uAE or the usual Xpize? uAE does not change your login screen.
  5. Sorry, my bad. You can't do it my way because that screws up the network configuration. I guess the only way to go is the way that net user is telling us.
  6. Maybe this thread is a bit old to be posting on, anyway I thought I could just as well post the right answer here as I had exactly the same problem and managed to fix it. The answer is that you must activate File Sharing as the Windows Firewall has disabled this and is blocking access to your computer. Also, you are probably not sharing any folder. To fix this, just share a folder and enable the file share by using the guide that automatically pops up when you try to share a file (when you click on the "I understand the risk by sharing bla bla bla"). After that, it should work
  7. I had the same problem as you. The cause was that I removed the Firewall (Internet Connect Sharing/Windows Firewall service. You cannot remove it if you want to be able to use your network properly since it screws up the configuration, apperently. If you haven't removed this service then perhaps, you could make a list of all things that you have removed so that we can help you easier?
  8. I'm using a bit different thing now with my UA installation which forces me to use another method besides the theme file. What I wanna know about cabbing your *.jpg file is this: When I didn't change anything before, the bliss screen didn't load up on first boot. Is it a requirement that it does load up in order to make the "switch" work?
  9. I've had similar problems before. I don't know why it happends, but sometimes something gets screwed and the slipstreaming procedure failes to do it correctly which results in this kind of errors. Have you tried using nlite to integrate SP2?
  10. Problem solved. I got to work by downloading skype once again. I guess my version was a bit of old. Still think that they implement such a stupid popup which ruins the whole UA installation if you don't have the latest version. Anyway, thanks for helping me out all! Regards, Marthax
  11. I used the program that you made blinkdt and it works very well Problem solved. Thanks to you all. Sorry for double posting.
  12. I used the program that you made blinkdt and it works very well Problem solved.
  13. Sorry for that. It works now And yes, it's the same PSU. If you're planning to do a upgrade and perhaps some day have SLI, then this PSU is an excellent choice. You get what you pay for, I can guarantee you that.
  14. Ok. Could you make me one then? I just want it to enable AMON, everything else can be set to defaults. That would be great EDIT: Nevermind. I don't need one nomore. Thanks anyway.
  15. Because this standard proves that the PSU is made for ATX cases and will fit. You really don't need to worry that a PSU will not work with a CPU since this depends of the power of the specific PSU and not if the CPU is a Intel or AMD. I checked the definition of ATX on google and found this which should explain ATX pretty well
  16. Yeah, I guess I'll have to do that. Thanks you for trying. Appreciate it
  17. How do you make a admin config file? I just want it to enable AMON, that's all. Everything else can be set to default.
  18. I'm testing it by using my UACD on a REAL computer.
  19. Then, you need a strong and good PSU and the Enermax is an excellent choice. You should have no problem providing sufficient power to your soon upgraded computer if you buy it. EDIT: If you check here, they have awarded this PSU with the "Best bang of the buck" price I'd say, go for it BombaTwist
  20. That's a very nice PSU and also a famous PSU making brand. Also, check this one out. It's even more powerful. It all comes down to one question BombaTwist, what kind of computer do you have? Can you show us some specs from your comp cuz it's much easier to choose the right PSU for you then. I would recommend that you read the guide that I linked to (the second link from my first post) because it explains all you need to know. I know, it's a bit of a reading, but you want to have a good PSU that suits your needs right? Then, start reading It's worth it, trust me.
  21. Actually guys, it didn't work . I don't know what caused it to work before, but this stupid popup keeps coming up (don't know why they would like to implement such a annoying question). Any suggestions? For now, I use these switches: /VERYSILENT /SP-
  22. @BombaTwist: Please, don't do the same mistake I almost did. PSU is the most important thing in your computer. Without it, your computer is nothing (duh?). So, even if it costs ya, it's worth it. Investing in a good PSU is very important and you should consider it because you want your equipment to live long, do you? Cheap PSU's don't have the ability to provide your computer with a stable voltage when dealing with a lot of pressure. For example, if you're playing a game such as Doom 3, you're stressing your components, including the PSU. The result is that the PSU can't handle the stress and starts to deliver an unstable voltage to your CPU and all of your other components. What does unstable mean? If we take the +12V rail for example then the PSU can provide you with +12.20V at one time and +11.80V the next time. If this voltage exceeds the 10% limit (in this case, 10,8), your computer has every right to shut down because the PSU can't handle it. Here's the difference between high quality PSU's and those you mentioned. PSU's such as those made by OCZ and Antec are excellent at providing a stable voltage. This gives a healthy voltage that makes your computer stable. Another thing that is very important is the amperages. You should avoid looking at the Wattage as it's not that important. You may think why? Well, because Wattage is just a result of using the Amperage and multiply it with the Voltage (P = U x I). You should get a PSU that has very strong +12V because this is the most important rail (the new Processors and all of your components such as HDD are stressing this rail). A minimum of 26 A on this rail is critical and necessary to supply are your components. If you have SLI installed in your computer then this is even more important. The newer components you have in your computer, the stronger the PSU's gotta be. I had this problem a while ago too and so I found an excellent forum, extremeoverclocking.com. I even created a thread about this and I got a lot of help and advice from a lot of people which made me think. I was in the same position as you are now. I wanted to spend as little money as possible on the PSU, but the guys on that forum made me realize thatI was pure stupid. And so, today I have a Antec PSU 380W (Antec Sonata Chassi) which suites me very well. I've been OC'ing my CPU and RAM a lot without having any kind of problems. My previous PSU had a very poor quality and the consequences was that it couldn't take the pressure as my computer would shutdown as soon as I did some OC'ing. This is not only for OC'ing, but to supply your computer with pure & stable power. Here's a link to the thread I created if you're interested. Also, here's another excellent guide that a member on that forum has created concerning PSU's. Hope this helps you! Regards, Marthax EDIT: Also, I found a thread about a Aspire PSU. Just so you know how they perform.
  23. No it doesn't. It's your call. I have it in System32 and it works. You just have to point it out for the installation.
  24. Sorry guys for taking so long with the answer. I completely forgot about this thread. I guess I was so busy finishing the other UA XPCD bugs. Anyway, these first methods doesn't work, but I gonna try out your method (blinkdt) and see how it goes. I'll report soon. Thanks again
