  2. Or you can install it via RunOnce with /Q switch.
  3. Yes, 7-Zip supports ISO, but not UDF - which is your case.

    WMP Hotfix

As far as I know, you only need cumulative update KB947864 (5/6/2008) for IE7.
  5. No errors at slipstream, just after testing the ISO in virtual machine. Windows install skipped OOBE, gave me an error like in the image and didn't install/show some windows components (like Luna theme, IE, WMP and others in Start Menu. After that, I remade a Windows image following the same steps, except that I integrated KB941569 using nLite (the rest with WMP11 slipstreamer). The resulted image installed succesfuly on virtual machine and on a real computer.
  6. Until you find a solution, you can install WMP11 and IE7 via RunOnce silently (the installers from MS).
  7. KB941569 is required too, but slipstreaming it with WMP11 Slipstreamer gave me errors at install. I slipstreamed it with nLite and no problem.
  8. Do not use WMP11 and IE7 addons. Download the installers from Microsoft and try with them (for me, it worked 100% on several images).
  9. You can safely remove Active directory services, IP Conferencing, Vector Graphic Rendering (VML) and Internet Connection Wizard.
  10. 1) Slipstream SP2 (just to make sure) using nLite; 2) Slipstream SP3 using nLite; 3) Slipstream WMP11 and all WMP11 hotfixes (except KB941569) using Booogy's WMP11 Slipstreamer; 4) Slipstream IE7, KB947864, KB947864, Root Certificates Update using nLite.
  11. Let's say you copy the Windows CD contents in "C:\WINXP". In that folder, you create a new folder called "PROGRAMS". There you put a folder called "OFFICE" (for example) which contains "Office_setup.exe". The setup program has a silent switch (won't ask you for anything, just installs in the background), let's say "/s". So the full path to reach the program is "C:\WINXP\PROGRAMS\OFFICE\Office_setup.exe". Now let's go to nLite: in the unattended section there is a feature to execute commands at first logon. There you will put the command to install the program silently. Taking into consideration that the CD drive name differs according to the computer, you can't just put "C:\" or any letter there. So you will put a relative path. The command for installing Office (my example) silently will be: "%SOURCE%\PROGRAMS\OFFICE\Office_setup.exe /s". "%SOURCE%" will automatically convert to the drive letter where the Windows setup CD is located and the setup will execute.
  12. The program is probably NOT svcpack compatible if - you don't find a nLite addon with it OR - you create an addon, test the ISO in virtual machine and it fails to install It is more simple to install it via RunOnceEx - nLite unattended.
  13. Maybe it's from DrWatson (the icon looks like it). You can remove that too.
  14. nLite uses mkisofs.exe to create the ISO. Make sure you press the "Make ISO" in the page and then "Next".
  15. If you have problems, always try using the latest (stable) version - nLite 1.4.5 FINAL. Give more details about how you slipstreamed, in what order you did it and other tasks. I can't figure out what you meant - you removed components or kept all of them?
  16. Some program installations are SVCPACK compatible (during Windows installation), some are not (they can be installed on first logon - RunOnceEx, after Windows install is complete). a) look for addons in the subforum B) create your own addons c) if a program is not SVCPACK compatible, use nLite unnatended option to run a command - the program installer with silent switches

    Newbie question

This is what I do: - slipstream SPx; - install in a virtual machine; - check for updates (WU); - write down the KB numbers of found updates, search in google for "download KBxxxxxx" and download them; there is an alternative: install updates on virtual machine, then look for links with .exe in "WINDOWS\WindowsUpdate.log" and copy-paste in browser (download). Of course, there are alternatives like packs (RyanVM), update downloaders (Autopatcher, WUD) and update lists (on HFSLIP site).
  18. I had the same error from the first post. And I identified the problem: slipstreaming KB941569, filename "WindowsXP-KB941569-x86-ENU.EXE" using Booogy's WMP11 Slipstreamer. You can slipstream every other WMP11 hotfix with WMP11 Slipstreamer, except KB941569 which should be with nLite. This is the only WMP hotfix that doesn't have "Windowsmedia11" filename prefix (it has "WindowsXP"). Using this method => no error at install.
  19. Is the hotfix list on this page still up-to-date or are there new hotfixes for WMP11?
  20. I don't start with a clean install when slipstreaming updates. When a new update appeares on Windows Update, I grab it and slipstream it on the previous up-to-date Windows CD.
  21. Is your network tray icon with a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark? This is what happened to me (besides others) when I selected Unattended option in nLite with XP SP3.
  22. If you don't find a program that supports .flac files directly, you can do it the manual way: 1) Convert .flac to .wav; 2) Create an audio CD using the .wav files with ANY burning program. Converting to .wav is without loss of quality.
  23. Question: how can you find out what components are needed for a program?
  24. You can custom install and select only Photo Editor. Then copy the files and store them in a separate directory and uninstall Office 2002. Photo Editor doesn't require registry settings. It's original directory is "Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\PhotoEd" if I remember correctly.
