  1. I downloaded the latest version of nLite and dutifully (and very carefully) followed instructions. Everything seemed to go fine and it burnt the image file, which I proceeded to test in a virtual machine. As my OEM copy began it's installation, everything was going great and then suddenly Windows rebooted and attempted to reload itself. That's when it gave me the following error, and stopped. STOP: c000021a {Fatal System Error} The Session Manager Initialization system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of Oxc000003a {OxOOOOOOOO OxOOOOOOO} The system has been shut down.
  2. I went through the entire process of preparing the nLite files, complete with intregrating drivers and all and got to the final point (where I found out I needed cdimage.exe, which I copied into the nLite folder, and then restarted nLite and did it all again) and EACH TIME it goes right through the process of creating the ISO file but right at the end of that process dies and tells me that the ISO was not written. What's the problem?
  3. I have an HP Pavilion 514n with a 202Ghz Celeron processor, 512MBs of RAM and a 60GIG HDD running an OEM version of Windows XP which came with the machine. The HDD is partitioned with a 5GIG "Recovery" Fat piece which is locked. I can certainly restore to factory specifications either by doing a restore from the locked "Recovery" partition or, worse yet, wading through 8 CDs to restore the Op Sys along with a lot of crap which I subsequently have to discard. I attempted to follow instructions I found on the web some time ago in order to create a slipstreamed (e.g. drivers included) single CD which I could use for restores. I tested it in a virtual machine and it worked ok. When I attempted to use it on the machine none of the necessary drivers were included with the CD. So I obviously did something wrong. Then I stumbled across nLite on the web. Wow! If this works, fabulous. But how do I use it on my OEM version of Windows XP? Thanks.
  4. I just acquired a DVD-RW USB External. It goes surprisingly fast! I'm on an XP SP2 Home box with a 2.2Ghz Celeron, .5GIG RAM and an 80GIG HDD. Everything's patched and updated. I have an internal CD-RW/DVD-ROM which Windows sees in my context menu "sendto" list. Windows writes to the RW disks with no problem. I have read on the net that Windows XP supports direct writing to a DVD-RW. How can this be acheived? THank you.
  5. I have an HP with a factory installed system that resides on a D fat32 drive and it's about 4GIG big. Alternately it comes on 8 CDs, regularly, not DVDs. I guess this rules out my being able to make a bootable XPize ISO disc right?
  6. So it's just like the "full"version but without the 128s? If so, I have to treat it like I would the "full" version, right? I mean...restore point and no virus checker.

    XPize Lite

What is XPize Lite? Can't find anything on the board that specifically references this....
