  1. exenter, glad you are running! You are welcome. Have fun, John.
  2. AGlobalThreatsK, a major problem is using Vista to build an ISO for XP. This will probably work if you don't integrate an SP, but you have included SP3. You have also included only text mode drivers. This my be OK if you are installing drivers for your USB Serial device after Windows installation. I would suggest you try running nLite under XP, or not including an SP and see if that works - assumes your drivers are installed outside of nLite. Enjoy, John.
  3. exenter, I can't tell which txtsetup.oem file you are using. I see 3 kB and 1 kB files, but no 2 kB files like yours. Please try the attached file (found in txtsetup folder), if it is not the one you have tried before. Rename it to txtsetup.oem and replace the one in your folder with it. If you get a BSOD, please capture the Stop code and post it. Thanks, John.
  4. exenter, the fasttx2k.INF is a text mode driver. You need to tell us more about your hardware - VIA model, etc. I assume you are running a RAID. Is it attached to a SATA controller? Please post a screen shot of a Windows Explorer view of the RAID folder containing your VIAMRAID.INF file. Did you copy a txtsetup.oem file into this folder? If so, which one. I think the DLed VIA files are one of the most complex and hard to figure out I have seen. Good luck, John.
  5. exenter, it would matter because nLite uses a different method to include text mode drivers than the F6 method. I DLed and extracted your VIA drivers but cannot find fasttx2k.INF. You got this from your A disk. What is this and where did it come from? It says 2k (Windows 2000?), but you are running XP. I think we are getting close. Enjoy, John.
  6. exenter, what is the error code on the BSOD? Is it a secret? Is it a 07B? If so, you still do not have the correct text mode drivers. Please post a link to where you are getting your drivers. Enjoy, John.
  7. afredje, those are text mode drivers and when you selected them under Drivers, nLite should have asked you which you wanted. You should reply by selecting x86, assuming that is your version of Windows. Now, please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Please report when you have a solution, so others can benefit. Enjoy, John.
  8. MCSammer, if you have created an ISO before, I would not, at least at this time, be removing/reinstalling anything. Did you remove the fronts from your Windows source? Is your Windows source a legal copy with a legal key? Please go ahead and attach one of your earlier Last Session.ini files? Now here is my normal inculcation, please make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Please report when you have a solution, so others can benefit. So, starting with a fresh copy of your source (unaltered), try again. What kind of problems did you have with the ISO you cut? Enjoy, John.
  9. MCSammer, you did not answer my questions about nLite/.NET working before. Did you remove/reinstall nLite or .NET or both? Several posters have reported strange .NET problems and these were cured by removing/reinstalling .NET. Did you check the MD5 for the nLite you DLed? Did you DL it from the nLite web site? More information is always better than less. Are you running under Vista, as your information indicates? If you are ultimately going to create an ISO for XP, under Vista you will not be able to integrate an SP. Enjoy, John.
  10. MCSammer, what were you doing at the time of the error? What nLite version are you running - should be 1.4.9.1? If you have a Last Session.ini, please attach (not paste) it. Have you run nLite successfully since installing it and .NET Framework? Good luck, John.
  11. shado, does it work if you include nothing in your hot fix section? I would suggest you remove all or most of what is there. If it starts working, then put half back in until you narrow it down. I cannot see anything obvious in you Last Session. Good luck, John.
  12. lenti, please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Please report when you have a solution, so others can benefit. Enjoy, John.
  13. exenter, yes SP is Service Pack. Only one is needed, the latest you want installed. Although I don't think I have seen so many drivers before, I see NO text mode drivers. The folder containing a text mode driver is distinguished by containing a txtsetup.oem file. I am not sure what you mean by this, but all your work should be done in one nLite session. Include your SP, all changes, hot fixes, drivers, etc in one session starting with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders. You cannot use F6 unless you disable OEM Preinstall. Please see the help (? in a circle) on the General tab of Unattended section. Please let us know how you make out. Enjoy, John.
  14. exenter, please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Please report when you have a solution, so others can benefit. Enjoy, John.
  15. shado, I'm not sure this is relevant, but you have a hot fix, KB952069, with 'WindowsMedia' in the name. Have you updated something that is not there? Also, please make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Please report when you have a solution, so others can benefit. Enjoy, John.
  16. Sp0iLedBrAt, I have not tried it - does not show up on XP 64 in nLite. But, apparently it is not needed when installing from a CD. Both of these files are Windows executables, so they must not be used at all in text mode. Give it a try and see what happens. Please let us know. Enjoy, John.
  17. Sp0iLedBrAt, see here. Enjoy, John.
  18. Geej, thanks much for your AutoIt exec. I am inclined at this time to wait till I discover a tweak or someone else comes up with one. I have DLed your exec. Thanks, John.
  19. Bazz49, I am not knowledgeable of using an upgrade CD, except for an earlier post in which a way was found to include the necessary files in your source folder to avoid having to insert during install, and your reported experience. In fact, submix8c may well be correct on what to do, but do a search for the upgrade path thread. You can include text mode drivers (and all other drivers) into your CD using nLite - no wait for F6. There are also Update Packs (see RyanVM forums), then you have just one large DL and you are set. What you are doing makes sense to me - each to his/her own. Have fun, John.
  20. Bazz49, in your Last Session is the line: Target = Windows XP Professional SP1 - 5.1.2600.1106 - English (United States) I think this reflects the fact that you changed the name of SP3. I assume you integrated SP3, and nLite should show SP3 in the Target area. So, if you have any further problems, change the name of SP3 back to MS's original name. Please let us know how it goes. Enjoy, John.
  21. Bazz49, your problem is in burning the CD from the ISO. You must burn a bootable CD (with a boot sector). I recommend you simply use nLite for this purpose or better yet, use a virtual system for testing - no more coasters. VirtualPC, VirtualBox and VMware Server are all free. I don't think this is a problem, but I would suggest you leave the SP named as MS intended. This habit will get you in trouble later. Now, please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Please report when you have a solution, so others can benefit. Enjoy, John.
  22. zodehala, where did you get your source? What is xpsp2tr? Perhaps a DLed copy of Windows? Is it a legal copy and do you have a legal key to go with it? How was SP2 inserted into the source? I suspect you have a source problem. Do the other posters have a clock.av* in there source? I do not, but I am running XP x64. Please let us know the details of your source. Enjoy, John.
  23. Sp0iLedBrAt, not necessary, but do take a look at it the next time you are in there. I think Ponch has the right answer. Enjoy, John.
  24. zodehala, under Components-Advanced there is an option to remove certain files. The file clock.avi is in the default list. You need to remove it. Also, please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Please report when you have a solution, so others can benefit. Enjoy, John.
  25. Sp0iLedBrAt, the Blaster option does not show in my nLite, perhaps because I am running XP x64. I was hoping to see the information associated with this option. Please take a look and post what nLite says when you hover over the Blaster option. Enjoy, John.
