  1. Bishop, great! Thanks for the detailed report. We finally found a situation we could deal with and now SUCCESS! I hope you can find a source that is less suspect than the one you found. Enjoy, John.
  2. Bishop, you need drivers for your SATA controller not your drive. Are you sure your HDD is attached on a SATA? I went to the ACER site and found no SATA drivers for AOA150 but I did for the AOD150. Neither were exactly your machine. I attach the one from the latter. Extract this file and point nLite to both the .inf files in the folder. This is done in the nLite Driver section. Let us know. Enjoy, John.
  3. iambk, your title confused me. I think of x86 as 32 bit and x64 as 64 bit, which I run. I looked at my %windir%\security\logs\scesetup.log in both my real, un-nLited system and my nLited VM and have many of these errors you mention. See below: I see you have trouble with a list. I had the same problem and discovered that if I just deleted the initial insertion, responded to the IE pop up error, then did it again, it worked fine. Another approach is to type {list] at the start, {*] in front of each item and {/list] at the end. I changed the first [ to { to avoid a mess in this reply. I think it would be easier if you simply attached your files, so we can use the tools we like to look at them. Why did you disable OEM Preinstall? I remember seeing somewhere about nLite options and signed drivers. I can't seem to come up with anything now, but please do a search on this forum for it. Did you stick to my inculcations? - Please make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. It looks like you have change winnt.sif after nLite runs. You may need full paths on your directory changes. Enjoy, John.
  4. Bishop, as I said, my guess. I have seen this before, but no solution just yet, but I believe we can deal with this one. I see no text mode drivers in your Last Session. Is the device you are installing to on a SATA controller? If so, you will need to include text mode drivers for it. Are you using a RAID setup? If so, same deal. You cannot use F6 method with an nLited ISO unless you disable OEM Preinstall in the Unattended section. Please see the help for OEM Preinstall (? in circle). Getting closer, John.
  5. DSpider, you hope what gets fixed? I see no error yet, just some gibberish and a few bad words. If you have a problem or question, please watch your language and, please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Please report when you have a solution, so others can benefit. Enjoy, John.
  6. Bishop, sure, the error code may be helpful. I gave the instructions for Safe Mode because some have seen repeated reboot and the BSOD is so quick, they cannot get the error code. Let us know. Enjoy, John. EDIT: My guess is 07B.
  7. Bishop, the BSOD error code might be useful. If your system keeps rebooting, try hitting F8 and go into Safe Mode, then turn off Automatic Restart and reboot. Enjoy, John.
  8. Bishop, you can run any media you can write and read. Before I discovered VMware Server, I used DVD+RW and have reused them many times. Please be sure to erase them first - nLite will do this really quickly. Many people have reported problems running nLite under Vista creating an ISO for XP. It is best if you try XP. One way to try it, is to install a virtual system on your Vista and run nLite under XP installed on your VM. I see a VALUADD folder on your CD. This probably means the source is some kind of a CD shipped with a machine and contains some "enhancements." Have you looked into your "hidden partition" to see if you can find the XP install files? It may be worth a try - obviously I fear your current source. Let us know if you are able to run nLite under XP. Enjoy, John.
  9. nasosan, good question - I don't have a clue! Do you get an error? Post it, if so. Just a list of your updates is not sufficient, please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Please report when you have a solution, so others can benefit. Enjoy, John.
  10. Coreyz, please see my attached screen shot of how your RAID driver folder should look. Point nLite to AHCIX64.INF. I don't understand what this is in your Driver section - D:\Other\GSATA\Floppy32\xraid_f.inf,J_I386. You certainly do not want any 32 bit drivers in x64. Fact is, I do not understand what any of your drivers are. Either you changed all the folder/file names or I DLed the wrong drivers. I see you are running nLite under 32 bit XP. This will probably work as long as you do not integrate an SP. Does your x64 original CD have SP2 integrated by MS? You can find your latest Last Session in your source folder after running nLite. All are saved in the Preset folder with date stamps. Enjoy, John.
  11. iambk, I have a vague memory that TranceEnergy had dealt with this. Please try sending him a PM and see what you can learn and please post here your findings. We have not seen nuhi (nLite owner/author) lately and we probably need to come up with a work around to these kinds of things. Enjoy, John.
  12. Bishop, being a little lazy tonight, I may ask some obvious questions. Have we talked about running nLite under Vista building an XP ISO? This is very problematical. Have you tried running nLite under XP? Have you tried running nLite against you source with no changes at all, just burn a CD and see if it will work? I am, of course, very afraid of your source, but please post a screen shot of a Windows Explorer view of your original source folder. Please remove the Tweak "Explorer-Launch folder windows in a separate process" - leads to a Windows bug, but has nothing to do with your real problem. Enjoy, John.
  13. aztec, you definitely need to move to nLite version 1.4.9.1. Please tell us how you are trying to include your wallpaper. And, please make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Please report when you have a solution, so others can benefit. Enjoy, John.
  14. Coreyz, please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Please report when you have a solution, so others can benefit. I DLed your drivers. Did you move the TXTSETUP.OEM and the AHCIX64 files into the X64 folder before you ran nLite? Enjoy, John.
  15. RAZOR0018, there are no guarantees in this fun (not business). I suggest you give one or another a try and let us know. I also suggest you start with a virtual system for testing (VirtualPC, VirtualBox and VMware Server are all free.) You do not integrate IE7 at all, nor its updates. Simply place the IE8 AddOn in your nLite Hot Fix section. Here is a link to instructions for creating an AddOn of your own - you can be in complete control. It is for XP x64, but I think if you change AMD64 to I386, you'll be good to go. Enjoy, John.
  16. RAZOR0018, I suggest you look at this 'Real' AddOn. 'Real' means it slipstreams IE8 into the source as you run nLite. The other type of AddOn actually runs the installer out of SVCPACK at T-13. I run XP x64 so know nothing about your Windows Updates question. I use an IE8 AddOn that I created, and have no problems with WUD. As I understand it when you use the 'non Real' AddOn you cannot place updates to IE8 in the hot fix section of nLite. I run the only IE8 update (KB968220) out of nLite's RunOnce exit. Enjoy, John.
  17. Bishop, again, I am glad that you are experimenting. But if you DLed an XP copy from the Internet it is most likely warez (see forum rules) and worse, there is no telling what kind of junk is in the DL, including bad stuff. I guess it's OK to experiment with, but certainly not to use. But you may have made some real progress. An nLited CD should work no differently that a 'real' Windows disk. What is the source of Windows in your nLited copy? Is it a legal copy of Windows with a valid key? Why do you not have a CD? Getting missing files in the DL is probably not a surprise, but you should get no errors whatsoever in a real CD or an nLited CD. Removing stuff via nLite should not give missing file messages. When you let us know what is the origin of your nLited Windows, please attach you latest Last Session. Have you made sure to run nLite only once against the same source and integrated only one SP? Good luck, John.
  18. direx, please see here for a my instructions for creating your own AddOn. I think it is simple and can easily be changed to Deutsch. Let us know if you have questions. Enjoy, John.
  19. Bishop, it is great that you are willing to try different things, but unfortunately what you tried appears to be a different method of accomplishing what nLite does when you place the text mode drivers in the Hot Fix section. This makes drivers available to Windows Setup to communicate with your HDDs. Since you cannot get Setup to load (boot) from the CD, this did not change the outcome. What I see as your problem and our opportunity is that the Vista CD will boot and the XP will not. This says to me that Vista has a different boot sector or boot loader than XP (or both) which allows it to boot. What got me on to EasyBCD link was the idea that it would get you past this. I am still looking and will let you know if I find anything. What I fear (may have said before), is that MS and component manufacturers have set out to prevent us from loading XP on newer machines - forcing Vista on us. Have you tried contacting your CD drive maker and asking about booting an XP CD. It is worth a try - would recommend calling to get past the first several canned tech responses. Please let us know. Good luck, John.
  20. Bishop, great minds - huh? The one real concern is you want to boot from a CD not HDD. I'm hoping that can be made to work. Enjoy, John.
  21. Bishop, I know this is a long shot but take a look here. I have not spent much time, but I think this may have some potential. I plan on spending more time when I have some. Please let us know what you learn. Enjoy, John.
  22. Spinner, you are welcome. I agree with your frustrations with the canned tech support responses. At least, if you can get them on the phone, you can say right then that the response is not useful. I am planning a new build and with your experience, I will try my best to avoid Asus. Please keep us informed. Good luck, John.
  23. 133794m3r, please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Please report when you have a solution, so others can benefit. Enjoy, John. Edit: Some questions:How did you burn your ISO? What is your source CD - OEM, Retail, Recovery, etc? Do you get an error? Please post it if so. Are you booting on HW or a virtual system? fraquar, Yes, and that is what happens when you place WMP11 installer into the nLite Hot Fix section. It is detected and nLite calls booogy's slipper. Enjoy, John.
  24. 133794m3r, I would suggest you would stand a better chance of getting answers if you were more cordial. Saying your were not going to get an answer because the thread had not been updated since 26 April is ludicrous. That was about a week ago. The author updates the thread, page 1 and the last page each month when MS releases updates. updateprep.bat is found in the Misc folder of the WinXP-64_sp2+ folder extracted from the Config_XP_64_16Apr09.zip WMP11 is slipped via nLite by simply placing the installer into the Hot Fix section - you must have booogy's WMP11 Slipstreamer installed on your system Kurt_Aust calls his folder where the installers are stored AddOns. It is not associated with AddOns you can place in the nLite Hot Fix section. This name is arbitrary and you can change it as you like as long as you change all the references. I did not think you were even in the correct forum/thread. It really looks like you need to spend some more time reading page one and the last few pages of this thread and come back with a happy smile. Enjoy, John.
  25. 133794m3r, HUH??? What are you talking about? Did you respond to the correct thread on the correct forum? Please ask a question and we will see if we can help you. Enjoy, John.
