  1. -X-, you are quite right and your solution is probably the best. However, if the OP really wants to remove it without rerunning nLite, he/she can probably remove the .exe and remove the line in the SVCPACK.INF that refers to the .exe. When we get a response we can look at the AddOn to see the details. Thanks, John.
  2. crookadile, you have not provide enough information. What is the name of the Addon? Please provide a link to the AddOn. You might consider PMing the owner for an uninstaller. Look in the avgfree folder and see if there is an uninstaller. Enjoy, John.
  3. meowing, I assume you get no errors when running nLite? If you look into the NLDRV folder after install, do you see the 185.85 drivers? Did you see my EDIT on my first reply? Right now, it looks like time to open an nVidia problem report. You might also seek out an nVidia forum and see if anyone else is having the same problems. Good luck, John. EDIT: Can you install the 185.85 drivers after Windows is installed and do they work OK? EDIT again: Attached is a screen shot of the NLDRV folder with the 185.85 drivers after I ran nLite with these drivers. It is about 175 MB.

    TXTSETUP.sif

PsuFan, I looked at my txtsetup.sif and have your original line, but my file is modified by nLite. How did you decide to point at this line in your txtsetup? Please post a screen shot of your error message. So, please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Please report when you have a solution, so others can benefit. Enjoy, John.
  5. meowing, I'll take a look at the nVidia drivers, but how are you extracting the drivers? What is the size of the file you DL and the size after you extract? I have found some files (especially .exe) do like to be extracted by 7-Zip. VMware Server DLs about 375 MB and extracts into about 30-40 MB. Obviously something bad happened. Perhaps nVidia intends for their users not to be able to extract their files now. Have you tried to run the file in a command prompt with a switch of /? or /help or /x=path to see if you can find a way to get the built in extractor to do the extraction for you? Another trick is running the .exe and Cancel it at the first opportunity, but while it is waiting for your reply, find the extracted files. Enjoy, John. EDIT: I extracted the 185.85 file with 7-Zip and by running the .exe on my VM and it looks like I got the same files, so I don't think it is an extraction problem. I also DLed and extracted 182.50. I agree there are about twice as many files in the old one, but the byte count is about the same. Both have only one .inf file with the same name, nv4_disp.inf. Please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini and also the MD5 and Size (not Size on Disk) for your 185.85 DL.
  6. basrijn, your Last Session is simple enough and I see no problem there. I have not used AutoPatcher and know nothing about it. I went to the AP web site and looked around and could find nothing referencing nLite or unattended. I would like to see a Windows Explorer screen shot of all the files/folders in your $OEM$ folder. What do you mean by? What does putting AP into the $OEM$\$1 directory mean? Are you just putting the AP files that it DLed into the folder so they will appear in the root of your installed system? Have you provided a way for the actual updating to take place during the running of nLite? As you can see, I am starting from scratch with AP. When nLite 'hangs' what does the Task Manager show is running - lots of CPU, etc? I hope I can help while I am learning. Enjoy, John.
  7. basrijn, please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Please report when you have a solution, so others can benefit. I am aware of no log files. Enjoy, John.
  8. Pirrie, please see this thread. I think these errors are OK. I know nLite cannot directly integrate all hot fixes and they are then run through SVCPACK during install. I had not heard of this message before but apparently this is how the integration difficulty is reported. Enjoy, John. EDIT: I ran nLite with Display reports enabled and got a number of the attached warnings. The ISO works and always has worked fine.
  9. exquisite000, I have to go by the Help text and it looks like you are correct. Enjoy, John.
  10. exquisite000, probably caused by your Unattended Mode of Prompt Repair. If you will look at the Help (? in circle) next to the Unattended Mode pull down on the General tab of the Unattended task, you will see that some unattended options will be disabled by this mode. Enjoy, John.
  11. Pirrie, I don't think this is your problem, but you need to remove the Tweak "Explorer-Launch folder windows in a separate process". This exposes a Windows bug. The only USB driver you have removed is the "Windows CE USB Host". So, put that back in and see if that helps. I am curious why you renamed all your Hot Fixes. Does IE7 work OK for you? Do you get any error messages from nLite (you should get none)? Please post a link to the web site for your USB mouse. Please post a screen shot of your 'inf missing' error message. Please attach your C:\WINDOWS\setuperr.log file (after install) if it is not empty. Are there any errors in your System Log after install? Enjoy, John.
  12. vaska94, I found this via Google. By using the /u switch (unRegister), I was able to get rid of the Remote tab on the System Properties of My computer. If you find you need the tab, then doing what the link says gets it back. To get rid of it in the Start Menu, delete Remote Desktop Connection.lnk from C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Accessories folder. Enjoy, John.
  13. supervixen7, great! I am glad it worked out and thanks for your report. We learned a lot from this and I am always happy to learn new stuff. Enjoy, John!

    nLite Update?

jamesbebby, there are many, many posts on this subject. Some searching will show that you should not be holding your breath. Enjoy, John.

    help please

srichakram, I know very little about MCE, but I have read that only certain version of it can accept SP3 and if you slip SP3 into one that does not, bad things happen. Please make sure your version of MCE accepts SP3. Enjoy, John. gamehead200, great inculcation in your last post! Enjoy, John.
  16. supervixen7, place usbaudio.sys in the C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers folder and the wdma_usb.inf file into the C:\WINDOWS\inf folder. Reboot your machine a let us know if it works. I attach the wdma_usb.inf file. Good luck, John.
  17. supervixen7, did you see my latest EDIT? Have you found usbaudio.sys and wdma_usb.inf? I found the same CE inf file. Soon, John.
  18. supervixen7, thanks for the attachment. I think "USB Audio Support" may be a better candidate. See if you can find an .inf for it. Enjoy, John. EDIT: OK, I found both inf files. "USB Audio Support" is wdma_usb.inf and the only file it references is usbaudio.sys (driver file). Please see if you can find these two files on your original CD. One or both may be compressed into .IN_ or SY_ or may be in your SP2.CAB file. Let us know when you have them and attach the .inf file.
  19. Thanks, supervixen7 , but I do wish you had attached instead of pasting your Last Session. If you will, please go ahead and attach it (using Browse... and UPLOAD buttons on reply screen), then you can edit your pasted one and delete it. I would consider "Windows CE USB Host". Please search in your original CD and see if you can find the .inf for this component. I will try to help, but I am running XP x64 and may not even have this component. If you can find a likely candidate, please attach a copy so we can take a look. If the forum will not let you attach an .inf, just add a .txt to the end of it. Enjoy, John. EDIT: Sp0iLedBrAt, this is an old build that supervixen7 is trying to avoid rebuilding, thus - "You are using nLite 1.4.8, not 1.4.9.1". EDIT again: supervixen7, The .inf files may be compressed (into .IN_), so search for .in*.
  20. ccl0, I suspect there is none. I would suggest you use the RunOnce (Unattended) to delete the icon from the C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Accessories\System Tools folder (at least on my XP x64 machine). Please let us know if that works. If it does not, then the RunOnce is running too soon (T-13) and you will need to use something like a RunOnce scheduled after first reboot or Windows Post-Install (WPI). Enjoy, John.
  21. hifahadilyas, please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Please report when you have a solution, so others can benefit. Enjoy, John.
  22. HolyPhoenix, you can try running CPU-Z. It should tell you about your main board. CPU-Z is a free program. Good luck, John.
  23. HolyPhoenix, you need to go to your manufacturer's web site and see if they have XP drivers for your machine. I would assume you will need several. Enjoy, John.
  24. supervixen7, that is why we need to see your Last Session as I requested in my first reply. It is found in your source folder and on the CD you wrote with nLite. So, please attach it and we'll take a look and see if we can make a guess. Enjoy, John. EDIT: If we can identify the missing component, the .inf file should tell us the missing files and Registry keys.
  25. mary99, I don't think it is your problem, but you do not have the latest version of nLite, 1.4.9.1. Please be sure to get it from the nLite web site. I don't see anything wrong with your winnt, but I am not very familiar with the operators there. And really need to see your Last Session, so, please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Please report when you have a solution, so others can benefit. Enjoy, John.
