i'd like to do something similar to this as well. only in my case put 'my computer' in the lower left corner and 'recycle bin' in the lower right. does anyone know an easy way how to do this? or how to arrange anything for that matter?

umm.. use nlite nothing i've seen that cant be done using nlite.

i think the problem is somewhere between the chair and the keyboard. with 900mb of additional files + some custom setup.exe tomfoolery, there is bound to be some problems somewhere in all that mess

firstly, why not slipstream sp3? secondly.. what are you adding to the build thats adding 900mb of extra stuff to it? third.. i have no idea what media studio 7 is, but skip that step and see what happens in your next build.

well in my case i integrated the wrong set of chipset drivers.

"Setup could not determine the type of computer you have, or you have chosen to manually specify the computer type." i think i got that error before. in my case it was driver related

dx9 has been included since sp2. maybe even sp1 but i forget that far back. all you need to be up to date is the update files for dx9

well theres two options 1. use windowblinds to recreate the visual style. but doing that would require a 3rd part software program installed to use it on your computer. 2. you can use some other program called stylebuilder. with that program you can make your own .msstyle visual styles, which can be used with any xp os(provided they used the patch). but the downside is using this would not make it look exactly like the original due to lots of limitations.

if you are going to request qt for itunes, why not just request an itunes addon? you will still need itunes afterwards and quicktime already comes with it
