"post SP2" hotfix package is for sp2 users only. he has not released a sp3 package yet

well upon further search it looks like there were two different types. one involved using the resource hacker and i think replacing the msgsres.dll, the other involved using Messenger Plus! Live and associated skins. i was under the impression that before msn mssgr 8.5 if people wanted to make a news skin they had to reshack the .dll anyways, my thought was to see if i could extract the source images from that plus! skin i linked earlier and see if i could try the ol' school method of reshacking... however it looks like it would be a huge task to undertake. i found an old tutorial here link and here... and..well lol just too much work i think. meanwhile during all this i found something called "Open Live" link which supposedly makes skinning easier. however it still requires Messenger Plus! Live 4.60 to use looks like a dead end for me, unless i want to try to do the resource hack thing

ah ok. before they released that msgr+ thing, people had to reshack wlm to change the look of it. that gives me an idea though

ah ok. well i saw that Vista Aero skin by ~Stianu89 addon you built, (which also requires msgr live i believe- or according to t he deviantart link it does)and i thought maybe it would just be a simple matter of replacing that one with the one i found.. guess not

ha well.. thats not exactly what i was asking. i meant is there a way to incorporate it into your addon here and have it set to default so when i integrate it into my build it will already be set up

i decided to start playing wow again.. when i went to download the full xpac patch it came out to be almost 1gb! so that got me thinking if its possible to slipstream the game patch into the game dvd...that would save some future hassle if i ever reformat again. i've tried searching google, but so far i've not gotten any results. maybe i'm searching with the wrong words or something, but i'm wondering if anyone happens to know how to do this? or could maybe point me in the right direction? thanks

hmm when you reinstalled was it with an altered xp source? did you use nlite in the past? i really dont have a clue about what the problem could be, i was just assuming it was the same problem people were having when i ran the search

i cant think of another term to use, but basically if i want to export my nlite settings. after hours of trial and error i finally got it to where i would like it... i'd like to save what i have for later use so is all i need is the "last session" file? or do i need something else? there are two files that i see last session, and last session_u, do i need both? both have the same time and date created.

here is the solution: uninstall it and find some other program. problem solved

hmm i dunno... you could try making a switchless installer. but then you run into the problem of activating it.. i think you need a registration key to use the software? then i guess after that, you have to figure out how to install the theme in the unattended cd and ALSO get the program to preload your theme... well i found an addon for windowblinds, but it looks like you cant preactivate it . you might find more useful information in the thread http://www.wincert.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=802

well if you use Windowblinds then you would have to first integrate Windowblinds in the unattended cd as well. thats why i personally dont use it, because that extra software is required

thanks for the replies. i believe i didnt remove DrWatson or select the "do not tell me when errors occur" checkbox. i will try both options i do have one additional question. if i check that box like cluberti suggested do i also have to put in that code in the .sif file as well? or is it an either/or situation?

actually thats what i'm trying to do. i've even removed moviemaker too, like in your example. i understand the process, but my question is, after i do all that can i re-enable sfc afterwards? and if so will it keep the deleted folders..well.. deleted?
