  4. how much do the hotfixes increase it by? nlite once doing just sp2 (if you need to) and ryanvm pack, finish start again, remove components (a lot of the languages added by rvm will be availiable for removal) and add "mrt.exe" to the removebox in advanced removals for another 2-3mb off
  5. this is more less then what I've I did when I choosed almost every thing to remove can you post your last session? and what other applications you are using?, and did it worked correctly? Thanks i selected all for removal.. not useable for me, but i do it with every new version to see how much lower it is..! btw, plasma, have you heard of ryanvm pack? its a hotfix pack that ryanvm updates monthly, so no need to select hotfixes manually, and the ones that aren't needed anymore are removed.. http://www.ryanvm.net/msfn/updatepack.html
  6. i'd like to have cmd here and a few things too as optional right click menu's (that only appear with a hold right shift) i prefer having it clean most of the time

  9. use rockxp to backup your activation files (tells you how to restore them too) http://www.rockxp.org/ -probably dont need to do it in safemode if you've got SFC disabled
  10. it makes a 2000 disc around 53mb i think it was ! (no sp's), and xpsp2 was about 75/85 i think
  11. the easiest way to keep an upto date copy of everything is to use $OEM$ folders for your programs, probably takes a bit longer to install because the programs aren't directly integrated but its far easier to keep all things up to date and seperate from your xpdisc files
  12. cheers santa
  13. just use a clean source, you shouldn't really put packs on top of each other, since 2.1.5 has things that are in 214 that are now obsolete unless ryan specifically says that a pack is ok to overwrite an older one
  14. ccleaner slim and regseeker
  15. could use this tool to remove them too http://bleddyn.co.uk/tools/ContextMenuEditor.exe
  16. see here.. http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showto...mp;#entry600287 removing shimgvw.dll breaks the ability to use a jpg as background and still have transparent icon text backgrounds on the desktop
  17. its not possible, xp home cannot join a domain there may be some hack that allows it, i dont know, but nlite will never have a hack like that in it
  18. yup, looks real smart a lot of people use weird looking backgrounds or colours that are way too strong, this looks professional as you were hoping for not my personal choice of colours, but it does look very good
  19. jeremy, the winbeta version doesn't work properly with vlite need the real final rtm
  20. mcfly .. Supported Vista version is minimum Build 5744 (RC2) and newer, RTM build 6000 recommended and it will be only one supported from the next version, you can run it on older on your own risk
  21. i've had that problem with a normal xp pro sp2 disc (was definatly not nlited or or unofficial files on the disc), don't know what causes it
  22. its dhcp client -done a lot of testing and i'm pretty sure it only relies on this
