Hi again! Well, this has nothing to do with my changing any settings...after upgrading to Internet Explorer 10 this started happening on all my computers. So, the question is "What have they changed in Internet Explorer 10 that can be causing this?" Microsoft...you can love them or hate them....!! bookie32

Hi folks! Hope everyone is well! I am trying to sort my favourites into categories and every time I drag from one folder to Another I am being warned about security settings for Internet Explorer....I have reset Internet Explorer - but it is still there? Is there something I am missing here? bookie32

Hi Guys! I have aproblem trying to scan and then send to computer email from a Brother DCP9010printer. I have goneinto settings for this printer and it is set to open Outlook 2010 but it readsthe document and then throws up roughly the following error: "Eitherthere is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill themessaging request" error message when you send e-mail from third-partyprogram in Outlook… This messageis in Swedish, but that doesn't matter lol… I havechecked settings and Outlook is supposed to be set to the default email program… This iswhere I don't understand what could have happened…I have just bought a newcomputer and set it up for the customer installing her required software etc. I installedMicrosoft Office 2010 Standard for Small Businesses 64bit version…theinstallation didn't give any errors until the software from Brother seemed tocause a hiccup.. On googlingfor the error I was led to this info: When Ichecked under: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Clients\Mail\... There wasno Microsoft Outlook…there was a listing for Windows Mail and Windows Live Mail…butno Outlook? I ranrepair of Outlook and low and behold there was a listing for Microsoft Outlookafter the repair?! I thenretried the Scanning to computer email from the printer, but the same errorcame up? The infostates that I should remove the subkey, but which is the subkey of all thedirectories under the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Clients\Mail\MicrosoftOutlook… There arethe following: Capabilities Envelope Installinfo Protocols Shell Or do Ijust remove the whole of Microsoft Outlook and then restart Outlook? I am justwondering why Microsoft Outlook didn't exist before running repair and thenaccording to the info I remove it and then run repair again….just seems like awaste of time… Can someonegive me some feedback on this, please! bookie32

Hi again! I see this thread died a death.....lol bookie32

Hi again! It is probably me not explaining my self...taken pics again and they are here. In the first I have clicked on Dokument on the left and on the right I have the contents of My Documents. I then click and open PHOTOSHOP from the files on the right as shown by the red box on pic1. When I open it that way there are no folders with all my documents in their own folder....I just get all documents in PHOTOSHOP as shown in pic2. In pic three I have clicked on the arrow beside Dokument in the left menu and then open PHOTOSHOP that way and you can see my folders with files in their own folders... Why are the contents of all those folders shown in pic2? I have always clicked on Dokument in the left menu and then gone to PHOTOSHOP from the right, but now I just get all the documents together instead of their own folder. Any other folder I click on from the right has its contents as they should be and I can create more folders, but not in the case of PHOTOSHOP? There are 16 folders in PHOTOSHOP and in pic2 there are just documents?" It has always worked before... bookie32

Hi jaclaz! Might of known you would be around....lol OK! can't upload here any more?! Put the pics on skydrive for you to have a look at... PIC1 I have gone via the left menu "Bibliotek" and clicked on the arrow by "Dokument" and just opened the menu there no problems... PIC2 I have gone via "ME" on "H" drive and no problems... PIC3 I have just clicked on "Dokument" in the left menu and then gone into PHOTOSHOP from the right and then it is as shown. If you look at the top you will see on PIC1 and PIC2 it has "Ny Mapp" (new directory/folder) but not on PIC3 bookie32

Hi again! OK! I have managed to copy files to the folder PHOTOSHOP and see them in their allotted folders, but there is something wrong somewhere… I can provide pictures if needed…although Swedish…lol OK! This is the situation. I moved my user account to another drive and in this instance it is H:\Martyn\mina document\PHOTOSHOP. If I open a direct link to that hard drive and PHOTOSHOP it shows my file structure as normal… If I open explorer and then look at my folder structure on the left I have Library: Pictures, Document, Videos, and Music. If I click on “Document” it opens that folder and gives me my file structure on the right- but if I click on PHOTOSHOP on the right it opens with no file structure and no folders?! What is even more strange is if I click on the arrow by “Document” on the left to see all folders in My Documents – I can then click on PHOTOSOP and it shows the right file/folder structure?! If you don’t understand my ramblings – then say and I will put up some pictures. Bookie32

Hi guys! Do not understand this.... I had created a file system on one computer running windows 7 and tried to update the same file system on another computer....nada?! After checking my files matched each other I erased the unsorted files and tried to replace them with the new ones all sorted in their folders...When I transfer them they are unsorted and without folders?! I have tried looking at the folder PHOTOSHOP on the computer I am trying to update and sure enough I can't create folders in it? I have erased it created a new folder and as soon as I name it PHOTOSHOP it denies folder creation....don't understand...I haven't changed any user rights etc. Does anyone have any ideas.... bookie32

Hi guys! OK! this is crazy......Internet Explorer 9 is a free choice upgrade, but some programs are stopping support for IE8, so the free choice becomes a necessity.......lol. I helped a customer upgrade to IE9 and when we restarted there was an icon "The Internet" on the desktop....lol I started IE and it was in fact English instead of Swedish?! I removed the culprit and insalled it manually.... Now all is well with the world again... My obvious question is why? I have looked after her computer for some time and there is nothing remotely English about any settings.....I get the feeling that Microsoft is losing the plot...... What is even worse I have my suppliers boasting about the new Windows 8...how good it is with all its new functions etc....Only idiots will buy it.....lol bookie32

Wim Conversion to VHD on Windows Server 2008r2
bookie32 replied to bookie32's topic in Windows Server
Hi again! Well, I could use the script and convert my wim to a vhd.....BUT Is it necessary to sysprep the wim before converting to vhd.....because I am getting a BSOD with 0x0000007b which suggest driver problems...? If I don't need to sysprep the wim file - then maybe I need to inject ms drivers into the wim before converting to vhd? I am just guessing here and would appreciate some feed back..... Thanks! bookie32 -
Wim Conversion to VHD on Windows Server 2008r2
bookie32 replied to bookie32's topic in Windows Server
Hi jaclas! I did read that, but it wont be the first time Microsoft has botched information concerning what you can and can't do.... I will run the old script and see how that works.... Thanks for you patience....lol Well, it is nice to know that I get told now that I need windows 8.... Wim Conversion to VHD on Windows Server 2008r2
bookie32 replied to bookie32's topic in Windows Server
Hi MagicAndre1981 No.....I didn't see anything written about that, but will get to that now. Powershell 3.0 installed without problem....which is a bit strange... I will have a look at what you have mentioned and post a little later... Thanks for coming by! bookie32 -
Hi guys OK! here is the case....lol I have been looking at converting wim's to vhd's in order to run them in Hyper-V... I heard there was a nice script for this and downloaded it...here I then saw at the script had been rewritten to work on Powershell 3.0 and upgraded to that on my Windows Server 2008r2.. I didn't get any errors installing Powershell 3.0 and thought everything was OK..... I like user interfaces...lol and this guy wrote about the script containing a gui I ran the user interface command from Powershell 3.0: .\Convert-WindowsImage.ps1 -ShowUI I received the following error which seems to point to a problem with netframework: Windows(R) Image to Virtual Hard Disk Converter for Windows(R) 8 Copyright (C) Microsoft Corporation. Windows 7 install Via USB
bookie32 replied to bookie32's topic in Unattended Windows 7/Server 2008R2
Hi Mate OK! That is kicking my arse big time........ I will get there and start my reading..... Thanks for your patience! bookie32 -
Hi guys I know I probably will get my arese kicked on this one, but swamped with reading material on subject and don't really know where to start....... I am trying to make a general installation of windows that I can use on all my computers, with all program software installed, and install it via a USB..... I don't know if there are any pitfalls that I should know about..... At the moment I am building my wim in VMWare and if I am going to use that as my "install.wim" are there any limitations? What is the best way to capture my installation if I am going to use it as my "install.wim"? I don't need any user info remaining...just all my programs already installed..... If I understand this correctly - I need to capture the installation and then implement it to my so called DVD image that can be applied to a USB? Is there a limit to the size of the "install.wim" when installing from a USB? I have a 32GB Transcend 3.0 which I thought would be the drive for this project..... Please bear with this old fart and his ramblings...... Thanks! bookie32

My winpe's seem to be working fine at the moment.....we will see when I test some of the functions... Thanks again for coming by! bookie32
