Hi guys Sorry, this is so frustrating....nothing personal intended....my apologies... jaclaz This link had a suggestion http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windows/en-US/7aaa9657-123e-4b4e-b31b-4e04543c13cf/windows-7-local-shortcuts-do-you-want-to-open-this-file-warning?forum=w7itproperf I found this little program for checking ADS generally... http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/alternate_data_streams.html When I ran the program on the whole favourite folder it didn't find any Zone Identifier - but found a ton of favicon data.. they say this about the data.. bphlpt I thank you for running tests to try this I see what you are saying and will look at doing it that way for the time being... I also did some digging in the gpedit.msc...but it is a jungle...and after testing implimenting several security options I gave up... It is an interesting question......lol bookie32

Hej Igen! I find it hard to Believe that no one else organises their shortcuts to websites on the computer and not via Internet Explorer's organise favourites... There must be others that have found the actual settings in Internet Explorer that allow movement of url's on the computer without the annoying popups...!! I have tried changing UAC...nada..tried secuirty levels IE....nada....tried adding information to gpedit....nada bookie32

There must be a way to stop this happening? bookie32 PS Here is a pic...sorry in Swedish

Hi jaclaz! Is this the same MS who, in their wisdom, released a OS called Windows 8 and 8.1? I am sure that they are smarter than that....? One thing about Windows 8...all the local stores in our Town only sell Windows 8, so pensioners, who often have limited skills regarding starting and turning off computers, are stuck with Windows 8. Well as we know the sales of Windows 8 has been terrible...so, my internet suppliers have many models from most manufacturers with windows 7 installed on them with the option to upgrade to Windows 8 - if you are stupid enough to do that.... bookie32

Hi MagicAndre1981! Wonderful! I have given the computer back as said above - but will be visiting this customer with other computer issues in the near future and can fix this then... Thank you so much for your time! bookie32

Hi guys! I have checked drivers etc and can't see any problems... I can go through the shutdown process and the computer turns itself off 7 times out of 10 but just hangs at times.... I usually hold in Power switch when this happens....funny thing is when Windows restarts I am not getting any warnings and can't see anything specific in the log? Has anyone any suggestions how to work out what it is? bookie32

Hi MagicAndre1981! Sorry, that was a Little remiss of me.... The KB file is to prepare (as they call it ) windows 7 for IE 10 but it causes nothing but blue screens on a lot of HP DV6 series laptops... Just wondered if they are still using this file for Windows IE 11... I havent Heard if they have fixed the problem or if they expect HP to do that.... bookie2

Email being sent to paper basket after reading Outlook 2010
bookie32 replied to bookie32's topic in Microsoft Office
Hi Mate! Thanks for some greate info.... don't think this applies to the ignore button...I can read the emails and then they are deleted? The ignore is about removing emails directly they come in and not after reading...if I am not missing something...lol I am just wondering if it is a setting that is wrong....not something I usually mess too much with...lol bookie32 -
Yet Another Malware Protector!

Hi Tripredacus! That isn't anything I have looked at.... Thanks for the info! bookie32 -
Hi Guys and Girls! I spend a lot of time trying to get through to my customers to avoid programs that speed up your computer and fix the registry etc. Unfortunately, not all of them listen!!! I have a computer with Winzip Malware Protector and Winzip System Utilities Suite!! I have Always thought of Winzip as a brilliant compression software - but this crap takes the cake it tells you that it has found infections and what level of infection and if you rely on the program to remove the so called infection.... The main problem with most of these programs is that the general public believe in the results and let the program remove the problems....and suddenly such and such program doesn't work etc!! I can link to photos if you would like to see the results of this scan...the software is in Swedish but you will get the general idea...lol I would like to hear of anyone else on this software... I use Malwarebytes in extreme situations but never recommend to leave it installed on the computer.... bookie32

Hi guys I haven't been around for a while....I know you har all had a rest from this old fart....had to deal with som health issues.... I would like to know in laymans terms more about the little system partiton that Windows 7 automatically creates when installing a fresh install of Windows 7. I never seem to get the time to apply myself to projects these days....partly to do with health issues!! anyway, sorry to run on....If I create a sysprep image of a computer - so that I have a standard image for most software - what happens to the system partition? What I mean is - I know that if I reinstate the image to a computer without the system partiton I have to run repair on first start up... What happens if I create a system partition when reinstating the sysprepped image...does repair automatically use the system partition,,,, If I remember correctly the system partition helps with encryption....OK tell me if I am wrong....please! Just want to know that if the sysprepped image is applied to a computer on which I create the system partition...will it be used? Do I need the system partition and if so in what situation should I have it? Sorry, I still have a hard time getting my little brain around all the technical sides of Windows; so please be gentle with me.... bookie32
