  1. I had the idea that it would be nice to have a simple, self-contained, program or a batch file (?) that would scan the folders structure of $OEM$\$1\drivers and output the result in a text file (to use with OemPnPDriversPath="" in our Winnt.sif). Also, it would be nice to give the number of caracter since it must be under 4096 to work... My skills are to limited for this kind of project but I'm sure somebody can do it easily! It would be a great time saver
  2. @netquik sorry, I will add Nestle in front of your nick @RyanVM Switches done! @Sgt_Strider Yep, you got it right!
  3. @Bi0haZarD I don't use the hidded attribute anymore but only for the files at the root of my CD (like WIN51, WIN51IP, WIN51IP.SP2, etc.) so it looks cleaner. If you use the UltraISO trick, nobody will see your files unless they extract the ISO and unhide the files and folder in WinISO or UltraISO. Also, giving a false impression of content is quite a good trick Afterall, the best "protection" I have seen is the one used by Acronis products... I haven't figured out how to see the whole content of it!
  4. I have written a topic on the subject (even if I can't take it with me when I'll die!) HERE
  5. I guess you'll have to do it the old fashion way... as described HERE you'll see, it is quite simple... check the switch availble for the hotfixes, add the command to svcpack.inf and add a line to dosnet.inf (only once).
  6. Ok guys, I modified my post and added the 3 non-critical updates you where talking about...
  7. where did you get the version 8.02? I have a full boxed (PowerQuest) version 8.01
  8. You are missing the signature files at the root of your CD. For windows XP SP2 you need the 3 following: WIN51 WIN51IP WIN51IP.SP2 you can create these files if you want since the content of it (with notepad) is only Windows
  9. I extracted the boot image of Acronis Disk Director 9 & True Image 8 with UltraISO. they both work. Before UltraISO supported Acronis Products BIF, I had to build a floppy image of the "safe" version (2 disks) and the full version (5 disks). All theses solutions works but it is really simpler to get the BIF from the CD with UltraISO... hope this helps!
  10. Yes! I run the Disk Director 9 & True Image 8 BIF from EasyBoot @prathapml I totally agree with you!
  11. Yep! You can do that easily with EasyBoot... and even more!
  12. Let me say it again: My method to get the list of hotfixes is under simulation with a flat installation for the 3 OS. I go to Windows Update and get the list of update from there. If Microsoft themself are not giving an accurate update list, I wonder who can... Anyway, the goal is always the same: get all the critical updates integrated into our unattended project. I think my method is the fastest and easy for me to maintain. Today, for Windows XP SP2, there is only KB834707 listed as a critical update. I added the KB885626 patche because it will appear as a critical update for people having a Prescott D-0 Core CPU. That's it! If you feel like there should be a non-critical list of post-SP2 updates, I can add them to the bottom of my list and give the credit to the writer... please use a similar format to my post.
  13. I Strongly recommand EasyBoot, it is easy to use and it provide some simples tools to generate your ISO. In fact EasyBoot is really flexible. As far as I know there is no limitation but CDSHELL is a community driven project so there is a geat support around.
  14. 1- TITLE of my post 2- TEXT in the first post 3- OTHER TEXT in 3rd post
  15. I can't /integrate: any hotfixes in my XP SP2 using your "Reducing Size Of Source" technique. If I do the same on a "regular" XP SP2 it works. Is there a workaround for this and is there other limitation I should know?
  16. @htc PLEASE send me a link to your discussion about EasyBoot on this topic. I've already used the Search Button before flooding your face with French ScreenShot!
  17. YES! YES! YEAHHHH! I GOT IT TO WORK! B) Basically I started over and followed the guide: 1- http://flyakite.msfnhosting.com/gettingstarted.htm 2- http://flyakite.msfnhosting.com/xpprosp1.htm the only difference is in the last step where I used the boot sector provided with EasyBoot (w2ksect.bin) and left the file in the ezboot folder (not at root like the guide) I wanted to check what I had done so far so I started a "regular" Installation under simulation and it worked. Lastly I followed the guide to do the Unattended part: 3- http://flyakite.msfnhosting.com/unattended.htm As I am typing theses lines, my simulation is running trought RunOnceEx.cmd and everything worked without a hitch! Cheers!
  18. Hummm... I've decided to do a test with winnt.sif and $OEM$ folder inside my XPEN directory (parallel to the I386 folder). During the TextSetup portion it looks fine as winnt.sif kicks in and the $OEM$ folder is copied over... but at the beginning of the GUI I get: After I click OK, I can specify where to find the files (D:\XPEN\I386) It goes on and on for the following files: 1- asms (it is a folder under I386) 2- NT5INF.CAT 3- NT5.CAT 4- SP2.CAT 5- NTPRINT.CAT 6- NT5IIS.CAT 7- MAPIMIG.CAT 8- FP4.CAT 9- IMS.CAT 10-MSMSGS.CAT 11-HPCRDP.CAT 12-MW770.CAT 13-wmerrenu.cat 14-IASNT4.CAT 15-MSTSWEB.CAT 16-OEMBIOS.CAT 17-tabletpc.cat 18-mediactr.cat 19-msn7.cat 20-msn9.cat 21-netfx.cat Then I finally get this: Afterward, Setup goes on ... but I seem to be stuck at the T-37 stage (37-minutes) Any hint or idea?

  20. @Bilou_Gateux I tried this method with my Win2000 install. I used the exact syntax you suggested (copy & paste) and it doesn't work. The only thing unclear is if I had to copy reg.exe to System32 to use your method... because I didn't! Where do you get this reg.exe version 2.0 from?
