  1. Since you have a USB adapter, you are able to partition, format and activate your disk drive. You can then copy the content of your Windows 2000 SP4 to the disk drive. Now you can reinstal the drive in the laptop and then boot from the floppy disk and then launch manually WINNT.EXE I think...located in I386 Maybe someone could confirm
  2. This is the official list I get from Windows Update: Windows XP SP1 (23) So i'll stick to that for my Update list. Beside, there is a massive update comming December 7... Wait & see
  3. Good Idea! I will try in a few minutes God Bless the "snapshot" feature of WMware
  4. So if I got it right I should put KB889669 and then remove KB889293 KB873377 and KB834707 My only problem is how am I going to be sure theses are no longer required when I run my simulation... afterall Windows Update still list them as critical updates.
  5. I will correct this today. they will be put in numerical order As I said before, my method to get the update list is under simulation with a clean installation an going to Windows Update website.
  6. 1 December 2004, I have added a new critical update to my topic: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=31886 thanks to edmoncu
  7. Added. I'm still not finished with my simulations but it should be accurate... EDIT: I'll have to check tomorrow, there is another obsolete update in Windows XP SP1 replaced by KB889293...
  8. well, no you cannot do it during your unattended installation. Maybe it is possible with the windows program some Motherboard manufacturer provide but this is a too long shot Beside I prefer to perform the BIOS update BEFORE I install Windows... The only option remaining is to integrate your floppy image (boot floppy with a BIOS file + BIOS update program + Autoexec.bat ajusted) and add it to a multi-boot DVD. This is my actual solution
  9. yeah, I extracted the .exe with winrar and the content is as you described... but it's almost 20Mo heavier
  10. Oh sorry I just realized I have the full version not the basic one... but WHAT A MESS : 1- Full French Version 6.0.1 + Update 6.0.2 = 20,1Mo 2- Full French Version 6.0.2 = 38,7Mo also there is an other update available just released: Adobe Interactive Forms Update SP1 - multiple languages 2,8Mo Ah crap! I just hate it when a company do that P.S. I still need the silent switch for the 6.0.2 update installer...
  11. Well the thing is I wanted to reduce the size BUT I also want to keep it simple...this method is easy to maintain Since the basic 6.0.2 french version is not available does somebody know the switches to apply the Update pack silently? I always download from this place: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/alte...l#reader602full
  12. Hello folks, I always get PowerDVD OEM with every new computer we buy. I integrated the software in my unattended Installation but in fact I only need to give Windows Media Player the ability to play DVD movies... So my question is what would be the minimal installation? I took a look at the Unattended Codec pack and saw that CLVSD.ax is copied over to SYSTEM32 and then there is this Registry setting applied: ;DVD im WMP [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Player\Settings] "EnableDVDUI"="yes" but is that it? Did I miss something?
  13. don't forget to change the attribute of the folder: C:\>attrib + s YOUR_FOLDER otherwise your folder is not a "system" folder and it won't display your icon...
  14. Are you sure the setup is halting? I am asking because during my unattended install I get a New Hardware Wizard Panel but the thing is I don't have to do anything. During this phase, Setup is looking to all your hardware and when the Video Card is detected, it ask for Monitor drivers. So I am asking: Is it really halted or setup will continue and finish without any intervention?
  15. you should post you WINNT.SIF so we can look at it. Have you checked this? [GuiUnattended] OEMSkipRegional=1 OemSkipWelcome=1
  16. have you set this one as well? NonDriverSigningPolicy=Ignore
  17. You can slipstream my friend. SP2 can be integrated into Windows XP without Service Pack 1 as well
  18. Here you go Adiel, Version 5.05.462 is available for download with 1024x768 support http://www.ezbsystems.com/dl.php?file=ezb5_en.exe
  19. I agree, do you really have to "install" this update? I prefer the registry tweak
  20. @prathapml thanks for your answer. Anyway, I've decided it would be easier to maintain if I keep the regular content of the CD and just delete the unnecessary folders... beside the difference between the two is only 17Mo. I am still using Gosh method to get the necessary boot files to for my CD so I can provide many options with different WINNT.SIF or even perform a "regular" installation...
  21. @zbeta Do you think it is possible to have all my command into one single file using AutoIT? What I mean is for now I have to create a batch file for every program I want to install silently (with switches). I would be great if I could store all theses commands into one single file and triger the proper command from my HTML Front-end... Also, where do you get those cool set of icon like the one you sent me?
  22. Just released! EasyBoot 5.05.460 New feature: Supports 800x600x256 and 800x600x64K mode resolutions !!! http://www.ezbsystems.com/dl.php?file=ezb5_en.exe P.S. 1024x768 is comming soon!
  23. @Bilou_Gateux WoW! interesting. So you don't think it is possible in HTML? I mean with quotes and backslash or anything else. Otherwise, it could be something like this in java script: <script language="JavaScript" type="text/JavaScript"> document.write("<a href="SETUP.EXE\",\"-auto\">TEST</a><br>"); </script> I'll need help to figure out the syntax and understand how to apply it to Office for example...
  24. @zbeta hum... interesting. I didn't knew about this little program... I will play around with it. Thanks!
