  1. Good to hear that! Would mean one step less for UACD!!
  2. May be you have set the limits for password autologon in the Users sub-section of Unattended section of nlite program!
  3. The program was already a sort of portable type, you simply needed the installation directory to run the program. But since ver 1.5 involves context menu, so may be it needs installing. Otherwise it is usable from portable device as stand alone programe (if you wish you can upx all the sources to further reduce the size). btw, nitro322, it was requested almost a year back, can we see cascaded shell menu extension?
  4. Some rich guy! I think won't be able to afford vista ultimate ever at that pricing and guy is already having few great versions.
  5. I was also wondering about the solution to this. Great find!
  6. Are they leagal? Or is it legal to download them?
  7. Single CD vista is a dream and it has been fulfilled. Let's start testing! Great job!!
  8. Thanks!
  9. Thank for the long awaited reply. sndvol32.exe is a mixer and doesn't give you the option to set the volumes at a predefined level, and it only retains the last value used. But volumeline programme gives you option to set various levels unattended! Can you try it?
  10. Has anyone ventured into the program?
  11. I found a programme Volumeline. This is a commandline programme to alter the volume level of various mixer inputs of your pc, even if you have more than one sound card, you can accomplish the thing. But can someone help me to get along with this programme as the help provided is little ambiguous and I have tried many option I cannot get past the simplest of the command volumline.exe get:all Otherwise the options are: I would really appreciate the help to get the programme running! Thanks in advance!
  12. Great! Happy testing!
  13. I agree fully with Andromeda43 Ghost is real winner function wise. It can back up hd irrespective of whether it can read the file system or not. It comes in handy when you want to back up non FAT partitions, even linux. A single file does the magic which other programs fail to do so. Moreover ghost explorer gives the ease of extracting file /files much like explorer. What else you need from a progrmam which can run of any media, even a floppy is more than enough for it. Also speed wise (which includes great compression feature) ghost is great!
  14. Vista themes are out get them at http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/45118492/ It is theme by ~jemaho You need theme patch to use the theme which can be found at http://anti-tgtsoft.com/
  15. I wish vista would run on a pII with 128mb RAM and with aero effect on onboard video. (Only Bill Gates or nuhi will help!)
  16. I downloaded it but I have problem running it. Ran the dependency walker and found few dependent files missing, it works well in msvpc. The installer is much better now, giving you option to skip many things. Though Photoshop and Imageready are customary.
  17. DVDs are always going to give you better sound. But it is the mp3 stuff which is going to give you creeps. I have seen so many posts in various forums highlighting this problem. But the better encoding options of mp3s will certainly help to get better sounds.
  18. I have got all the options you mentioned, but the fact remains that the central speaker sends out muffled sounds, faint sound comes from side spks and if I use THX console to individually tweak volumes, I find all speakers especially s/woofer going haywire, giving out extremely ugly loud sound and loudness goes off when I turn down the treble (? strange!). I found sandbox gives a far better option of using these all speakers very effectively, even you get to see the output in five channels how it is mixed. Atleast I haven't found a solution better than this of the innumerable things that I have been trying for the past one and half year.
  19. Firstly almost all audio sources like mp3 etc are encoded 2.1, only wma gets better in this. So your output is likely to be as set out by creative a mix of 5 speakers plus little audible vol on side l/r and centre spk. This one gets after setting the speaker settings from the creative audio control panel, with setting of spks as 7.1 and cms 1 or cms 2 selected. I have audigy 2zs platinum and t7900 speakers and limited 7.1 support. But I found a better solution, there is a new program released by SRS called Sandbox Audio, it act as new software audio driver and gives far much better sound from front centre and side speakers and also rear ones. This is the only viable solution right now. I have tried all possible solutions but only SRS comes quite near it. You have to shell out 20USD though. http://www.srs-store.com/store-plugins/mall/sas-plugin.asp It is only a 14 day trial, try if it suits you. You can try this program for all the audio applications like wmp, winamp, etc.
  20. My connection is a shared type over lan by my ISP. And my ISP has a total bandwidth of measely 4mbps. Consider this to be shared among more than a thousand users. I tell you, I am a previliged customer so I get this much bandwidth others get only 64kbps. Back here in India we are still in paleolithic age of internet speed. Though I pay around 15USD a month for this but you don't have a choice. @IcemanND, teamed up dialups are equally bad, one connection providing only 56kbps. Catch you all guys up a few years later.
  21. No the link is perfect, but it is buried deep!
  22. Mine must be the slowest!!!!!!!!!
  23. Ryan's site doesn't have 1.5.10 version even, though 1.5.10 was released sometime ago. So getting 1.6.0 is really a treat.
  24. @cyberyeye You are right, the RAID drives are identified for their quick-removal and device manager has got this option too, also there is option for enbling or disabling write behind cache. So once the drives of this array are recognised as removable, their shortcuts are shown in the sendto menu. But still this becomes irritating.
