  1. winrar hasnt offered it yet, i dont see them offering it soon.
  2. uhm, upx.sourceforge.net I believe...also, my 7zSC.sfx already has the nero icon. temp files are extracted to %temp% and deleted WHETHER OR NOT setup actually works or not...I noticed this with testing mp10, if setup gave an error and exited, 7zip removed ALL files that were extracted (kinda annoying if youre troubleshooting)...but as far as my instructions, setup will finish no problem...hey asta, I noticed you have Quick Batch File Converter, do you think you could turn the .cmd file into an exe? tho I guess it doesnt really matter either way since I dunno how much space it would add. With my guide, you can cut out all those steps and just run the resulting exe file and everything else will be done for you.
  3. Thanx everyone for the comments...Im glad people are now looking at it and trying it out...it does work wonders.

  5. you have to copy reg.exe from wxp to your w2k source, then runonceex will work

  7. did you add anything like ryans update pack, or any updates...all these figures are without adding anything, its like taking a brand new xp cd from ms and removing those folders...yea, it gets down to about 376mb
  8. @ DLF, if it is just security center that is causin the batch to not continue do this in batch 1. install silently sp2 (do not reboot) 2. regedit /s delseccen.reg 3. add all hotfixes to runonceex to be run when computer restarts 4. use shutdown.exe to reboot the machine 5. computer restarts and continues on to runonceex, installing the hotfixes 6. run regedit /s seccen.reg 7. reboot one final time (or maybe multiple times, but do not do step 6 until you are done with all reboots. NOTES: delseccen.reg is just a reg file which disables security center, these keys are in the registry tweaks thread, or I can post them here. seccen.reg basically is the opposite of delseccen.reg therefore reenabling security center. and you should be done.
  9. there are a few problems with my thinking... 1. I cant find some files that ryanvm has in his update pack, so I dunno how those would be integrated...also, im not 100% sure it can be integrated with a switch because its missing some things...like a svcpack file and folder to run the hotfixes...but i dunno, that would be something to try...I have copied over the files now im looking for where to put the reg entries. EDIT: it seems that update.inf would allow a way to install the cat files for each hotfix and also include the reg entries and if you needed to add files or run them...actually, DLF, you should take a look at update.inf...I will later today maybe, but I am almost positive that would be the place to start with what you want to do...I am very interested in this because I could add it to my unattended cd of xpsp2 without almost any space using cdimage...and offer an autorun menu to install sp2 with all current hotfixes...this really is a good idea so dont get discouraged.
  10. DLF is there some way I can get in contact with you...I just wanted to see if some things would work...basically what I have done is extract sp2.exe and if you go looking you can almost find a complete xp cd in there (not quite but its only missing a few files)...and what Im thinking is you could integrate the hotfixes into the sp2 source...not cd source, but sp2 that you extracted...I have looked through the folders and found the one youd need to do it to, but I need to do some more looking to find out where to put the reg entries for each hotfix...then leave it uncompressed and just run update.exe....I havent tested that and I believe someone said you cant run update.exe like that....but that is what id like you to test, Id test if I had a sp1 cd or machine anymore, but I dont. I am going to look and see if I can put ryanvm's inf somewhere and have it run (just as a test). This way you would just need to run update.exe and when its done, restart your machine...THIS DOES NOT install wmp at all, but you could easily set up a runonceex, but I believe this would be easier than having multiple hotfixes installing at runonceex time.
  11. first off, its not a good thing to tell people you downloaded a warez iso...and if you didnt then I must say windows 2003 is really only 3 maybe 4 products...not 10...but the person who made it used cdimage...do a google.
  12. I would recommend F-prot, but thats just me. I have heard some really good things about SAV and the new version that is out...but it all depends on what a user wants...there really is no best version...as far as resource hogs...depends on what youre doing, I have about a gig of ram and really dont find anything that is such a resource hog that I cant stand it. I do know I dont like McAfee at all, and have my reservations about NAV, but maybe this new version will be better...havent tested it yet, but will soon.

  14. @neuro42 you should go back and read the first post...this thread is about how to take out wmp9 out of your windows cd source and create an installable wmp10, thus not having 2 wmp's on your windows cd when there is no need. @Obliviator While I have been keeping up with your post, it does not offer a true slipstream, you have many problems that need to be fixed first before you should come to another thread whose method works and tell people you found a better way. I am not defending the work here, but until your method works 100%, please do not take over another thread until that time comes. And furthermore, both methods do almost the same exact same... yours replaces wmp9 files, this method removes the wmp9 files with nlite and then creates a exe that is installable with svcpack.inf, and I for one have always used svcpack.inf, but it can be used in guirunonce, runonceex, wpi, and other methods that I cant remember the names of...

  17. EDIT: nm
  18. its commented out for safety...that line must be in there or windows will say the registry file is invalid...fezik please learn about reg files before you give bad advice again.
  19. 1st, you do not set %cdrom%...you need to find the code to give a drive letter to %cdrom%...there is a string for runonceex.cmd to do this, but I dunno it off the top of my head. for error 3-7 we need your winnt.sif...make sure to delete any cdkey/password in it. found new hardware wizard is PART of windows...whether you use nlite to delete drivers or not, it will pop up...what you could do is integrate the drivers into nlite...or are you saying its asking you to install the drivers...if so, then yea, find out what driver it is and dont have nlite remove that specific driver...like if for a monitor, dont remove monitor drivers. Annd, its actually Happy ChristmaChanuKwanzakuh (and if you notice all letters for the other 2 holidays are used, but Christmas loses an s...wonder why?)
  20. @MyDomain...I dont set mine about dword:20...it does get to a point where no matter what you increases it to, it isnt going to come into play...take for instance, do you download more than 20 things at a time? I almost never do...one always finishes before I get on my 10th download. I know dword:20 is more than 20, just telling you what I use.
  21. I am the one and only evilvoice...lol...funny you should mention the acronis tutorials....seems many people have problems with it, but since finding msfn.org I havent been to 911cd.net in any capacity to update or to offer tutorial services there...I have spent most of my time making an unattended cd, then once I have it 100% to my liking, I will move back over to 911cd and build up to where I was before (you should do a search on member name "evilvoice" from the beginning to see everything I posted). @Incroyable Hulk, tho I would like to retract my statement about the lie, I cannot...as I said, you could have used a better wording to say ezbsystems did not actually have 24 bit support, but as you put it...it sounded like you are saying they DEFINITELY have 24 bit support, and they do not...there will always be one difference between these programs...cdshell/bootscriptor/bcdw are free easy boot is not. I was inclined to purchase easy boot with ultraiso after reading your post about them having 24 bit support...I had gone as far as the Buy Now Page, then I said to myself, just to be sure, lets check what has changed...and so I clicked on news and found out...do you see my point? From what you said before I joined in this thread, I was all ready to go buy the program because it had 24 bit support at 1024x768...now how upset do you think I would have been after paying $60 (for both products) only to find out it doesnt support 24 bit images?
  22. ok Incroyable Hulk, im gonna have to jump on you...so basically, what you said here is a lie? And what you meant to post is that Easy Boot uses 1024x768 and converts 24 bit images to 16 bit images before writing the boot folder...and in the event that your display card cant display 16 bit, it will downgrade the image to 15 bit (if I remember correctly)? Or that Ezbsystems is working on making Easy Boot 24 bit compatible (which could take a long time depending)
  23. it says on easyboots webpage that 1024x768 was just added, and no 24bit support...only 16bit, unless you know the creator and already have a newer version than the one listed on the webpage... 64K is not 24 bit, in case youre wondering
  24. hmmm, this doesnt seem to be a very good "chinese to english" translation...Im gonna go through and replace an english version with these icons/bitmaps...we'll see how it turns out... EDIT: Well it seem that the tweak to let winrar use 48x48 or 64x64 icons is only known by one person and one person alone...so it doesnt seem that I will be able to update these correctly...I even went as far as to download the set from alienware, but didnt see any winrar stuff, so I took it off.
