Admin Screen Shows By Starting Xp
enuffsaid replied to koden's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
What is it exactly that you are saying. Is it the Admin logon icon at the Welcome screen you want to get rid of? -
That's what I said in my post already... US-EN **nightly** build. I edited my post about 1 minute after I posted the original. It was there before you replied, Ryan. But thanks for pointing that out, again.
-
Tarun started a new topic about 3 hours after I started this one. If only he would have SEARCHED msfn, he would have know right away it was a nightly build, and the Martin L wouldn't have posted BS on the Frontpage cause he obviously only read Tarun's post. http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showto...ndpost&p=278272 LOL

Firefox, Outlook, And Messenger
enuffsaid replied to svasutin's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
Ideally, what you would want to do is to set your default email program through the Internet Properties, and then Export the afore mentioned key: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Clients\Mail\ Import that during your unattended install. Do you have any other email client installed other than OE? Cheers. -
Have you tried installing ASPI from http://www.ahead.de/en/ASPI_Driver.html or http://www.adaptec.com/worldwide/support/d...ws+ASPI+Package Let us know...

How Do I Disable/remove Qos Packet Scheduler?
enuffsaid replied to uqdblack's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
;Disable Quality of Service RSVP [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\RSVP] "Start"=dword:00000004 This should do the trick although untested by myself, as I don't use it. I do stop several other services using this method. I know it can be done through the sif but I don't have that info at hand. I take it you're using WXP. If you are using W2K check here. Good luck. EDIT: (about 6 to get it right) Ohh darn... Sorry, your talking about Packet Scheduler... In that case, don't bother with the link. And you'd be looking at this registry value: ;Disable Quality of Service Packet Scheduler [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\PSched] "Start"=dword:00000004 ... again, untested. -
Firefox, Outlook, And Messenger
enuffsaid replied to svasutin's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
From your topic I read "Firefox installs ol-e and msft messenger" I find that hard to believe but perhaps I'm wrong. Let me ask you this... If you were NOT to install firefox at all, and you would click a "mailto:" link, does the same happen? You also mention when you click a "mailto:" link "Outlook" opens... I take it you mean Outlook Express? Also... If you open up Internet Explorer > Tools > Options > Programs [Tab] what does it say for Email? You can set it thru the registry here: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Clients\Mail\ HTH. -
Run Program With Admin Privilege In Guest Account?
enuffsaid replied to Stuntgp2000's topic in Windows XP
Because if you change the local system account for a low priviledged one, that account may not have sufficient rights to update your system... -
My User Account Is Not Being Created!
enuffsaid replied to lylo's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
Mate... have you tried my suggestion provided earlier? -
I'm not preaching against Firefox. I use firefox aswell. But I've just about had it seeing firefox remarks in every other thread. I suggest you start your own topic and bump it every day! Perhaps you're being friendly, but your NOT helping him with his problem.
-
Excuse my curiosity... but what's this "Webview" for Windows? How can I turn it on (or off). What regedit are you speaking of? Thanks.
-
It's just that there's SO many people consistantly waving the firefox banner already that it becomes irritating. Besides your remark was completly irrelevant to the poster's questions. Also... the subtleness of your remark "I've never heard of this problem with firefox" is just so.... childish! Almost as if you want to show your "l337-ness" by telling everybody... YOU USE FIREFOX! Good on you son! EDIT: Typo

My User Account Is Not Being Created!
enuffsaid replied to lylo's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
Perhaps you are creating your users too early in the setup stage. Try running your useraccounts.cmd at a later stage. Preferably just before the last reboot. Cheers. -
Run Program With Admin Privilege In Guest Account?
enuffsaid replied to Stuntgp2000's topic in Windows XP
The Automatic Updates services is run from the Local System account. It should run no matter what the priviledge of the user is. If you would like to change the account from which it is run... START > RUN > services.msc > OK Look for "Automatic Updates" and double click it. Click on the "Log On" tab and change it to your likings. I recommend you don't. Cheers. -
Please, help Me With This Serius Problem For Me!
enuffsaid replied to ectavares's topic in Windows XP
When your PC is experiencing this problem again (very slow)... Hit CTRL-ALT-DEL... Is CPU at 100% Click on the "Processes" tab Click on the "CPU" above the detailed list 2 times so the process using the most CPU is displayed on top. What is the name of the process? How much CPU is it using? Are there other processes using alot of resources? Cheers. -
Start up windows and change your screensaver, and click the OK button. Open the registry [sTART > RUN > regedit > OK] and browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\ look for an entry called "SCRNSAVE.EXE". Does its value reflect your newly selected screensaver? If it does, then something is resetting it during restart. If you create a new user and log in as the new user. Does this problem still occur? As said by others try scanning your PC for virii or male-ware. Good luck
