Having probs with %CDROM% WPI v5.5
Lost Soul replied to djackson's topic in Windows Post-Install Wizard (WPI)
are you trying to make a standalone disk just for installing apps ? if so can you post your file structer that your burning to disk and also a copy of your config.js file.. it sounds to me that, the reason its not installing anything is because wpi can not find the applications to install and thats always due to addresses,, but wont know for sure what the real problem is until you give us more information -
the internet is built on tons of small to large networks

Lost Soul replied to Incroyable HULK's topic in Unattended Windows Vista/Server 2008
im looking forward to it -
god that really does add alot of features, thanks tain for bringing that to my attention, and thanks again tinker i nearly forgot about signal strength btw tinker... is there any advantage to having your own cable/dsl modem, because from the area im at here in nc,, the 2 main servers are sprint dsl and road runner high speed cable, and both of these provide dsl/cable boxes already .. but if theres a advantage in having your own, other then you owning it, id definatly get my own..

i like outpost myself i find most others to be resource hogs
-
backing your book marks up is easy,, i do mine the good ole manual way,, just go to your C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<what ever default number your assigned> and just copy the file bookmarks.html and thats it when your ready to use them again just make sure your new firefox is closed first and just over write the new bookmarks.html with your backed up version,,, then start up firefox and presto chango, your done..

i have no ideal why your getting this type of error but the best i can tell you to do to get around this error is simply take and upto date version of the logonui.exe, then rename the file VistaReflections.logonxp to VistaReflections.logonxp.zip and extract it,, then you get all the files and images for it,, then use resource hacker to replace the images in the original up to date version with the contents of the zip you extracted.. i think its compatability issues and that would probably be in the line 74 of them theme.ini file which says 35=%s has %d e-mail message so i say your best bet is to just remake the logon your self, its easy any ways and besides you can use LogonStudio 1.0 its free,, so try it out,, it will help you create what you want http://www.download.com/LogonStudio/3000-2...tml?tag=lst-0-1

its true its gonna be a job, so my first task will be to create whats needed most a "file server/print server", im thinking of installing Ubuntu with a samba file and print server, with cups latest windows drivers, There is one model not to get, though. The "L" model, I think, because the hardware is not as good. isnt the L model all linux based models ?
-
i just had to post this question because you got my curiosity up did you choose this "Linksys WRT54GL Wireless-G Linux Router" because you felt it was more secure ? works better,, or what,, im gonna build the print and file server out of linux distros, and then also do the same for a seperate web server , i just am not sure on what type of distro to work with, im still learning linux and the bulk of my hands on with linux has been mainly on my mythtv boxes any suggestions, ?
-
are you talking about ff2 ? because im having issues with it,, some pages arent loading up correctly with css and yes speed issues to, even after using fire tune on it, it still dosnt seem to have the stability of the older versions, i havnt found any fixes yet, but i am thinking of down grading to the older version

thank you for the 411

ok what im trying to do is in this thread http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=86378 btw im not trying to limit bandwith and as for users just family 1 web server, 1 laptop, 3 mythtv's ,1 file server, 1 print server, possibly 5 pcs in the future but for now just 2 desktops, and possibly in the future a type of phone server for voip services..
-
can i get some network minded people to look at this and give me there advice on it,, would you trust useing it on your network as the firewall/router/switch i dont really know much about wireless n but that its faster then g and it transmits further WRT300N http://www.linksys.com/servlet/Satellite?c...FVisitorWrapper

net framework 3 what does it replace?
Lost Soul replied to cumminbk's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default....tml/netfx30.asp How .NET Framework 3.0 Relates to .NET Framework 2.0 and Earlier The .NET Framework 3.0 adds new technologies to the .NET Framework 2.0, which makes the .NET Framework 3.0 a superset of the .NET Framework 2.0. You can think of .NET Framework 3.0 as an "additive" release to the .NET Framework 2.0, as contrasted with a generational release where software is revised across the board. (For example, the .NET Framework 2.0 was a generational release over the .NET Framework 1.0.) Because .NET Framework 3.0 is an additive release and uses the core run-time components from .NET Framework 2.0, it is completely backward compatible with the earlier version. Your existing .NET Framework 2.0 based-applications will continue to run without any modifications and you can safely continue your investments using the technologies that shipped with .NET Framework 2.0. If you are moving to .NET Framework 3.0 from .NET Framework 1.1 or 1.0, you should perform impact analysis and run compatibility testing prior to deployment. While we have worked to make .NET Framework releases compatible, there are a small number of known incompatibles due to security and significant functionality additions. For more information, see the page Breaking Changes in .NET Framework 2.0 on the Microsoft .NET Developer Center Web site. -

well that would block the server from calling out to the internet, but it wouldnt stop or prevent ppl from trying to access it from the internet in other words that stops outgoing not incoming hmm well i think atleast, but i could be wrong but it sounds like a good ideal
