3.9 beta 2 https://startisback.com/StartAllBack_setup.exe New taskbar perk: Slightly larger bloated swollen plump classic taskbar to match Win11 aesthetic (or adjust vertical spacing or make taskbar float), with optional size bulk heft / padding pillow buffer / margins floating aura option. Other notable changes:4 points

It was an obvious fake right from the start. Too obvious. I wrote about it in the beginning. I don't know why people spent their time. May I kindly request @Dave-Hto take action against the user named @TheLeftOldComputer under the section 4.e - vapourware. Edit: I wrote here. https://msfn.org/board/topic/186356-just-bored-what-software-should-i-create/#findComment-12699083 points

Well, he (or anyone else) can't promise anything without having the actual work, be it ready (or in progress), as far as I understand,2 points

@NotHereToPlayGames, can we get to the bottom of this? With instructions on how to remove it. I'm not that versatile, as you guys, when it comes to such procedures.2 points

Based on tihiy's old "Windows 7 Explorer on Windows 8" project, we have accounted for many COM objects and functions that have been removed between 8.1 and 10's development, resulting in a fixed version of this old program for newer Windows versions! THIS PROJECT IS IN A PRE-RELEASE TESTING STAGE. FULL FUNCTIONALITY ISN'T GUARANTEED. REDISTRIBUTION ON CUSTOM ISOs/TRANSFORMATION PACKS/UNATTENDED INSTALLS IS NOT ALLOWED DURING THE PRE-RELEASE TESTING STAGE. There are no plans for a 32-bit version, so please refrain from asking for one. The explorer.exe executable does not handle File Explorer windows, it only manages the Start Menu and Taskbar. If you wish to restore the command bar, use explorer7 in combination with other customization software. INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS Import the "Import Me.reg" file included in the zip file to the registry. Open up ex7forw8.exe. Locate your Windows 7 files and continue the installation. Choose the Windows 7 shell option and log off. Log in again to see the Windows 7 explorer. Enjoy! NOTE: There are extra instructions on the README file. Please read them. Known issues/limitations (General): UWP/Metro UI apps won't run. Current preview of Milestone 2 can run them in an experimental mode. There are no multi-monitor taskbars. This is a Windows 7 limitation. Autoplay may not function properly. Icon badges for compression are visible. This is a Windows 7 limitation, since they did not exist back then. Context menu entries for pinning and unpinning internal start menu items are missing. Known issues/limitations (Windows 10/11): Thumbnails use inactive DWM Colorization. (Windows 10 1809+) (Milestone 1 only) Changing accent color does not reflect until you restart explorer.exe. (Milestone 1 only) Notification icon settings in Control Panel are missing. Sorry for that! I didn't look over the post rules where linking other social media was not allowed. Will take that into consideration.1 point

Found a bug: "Win + Ctrl + Num x" may bring the wrong window into focus. Running on Win11 (24H2 26100.2454) How to reproduce: Say we have 2 windows grouped at the 2nd position on the taskbar. Focus on the 1st window of this 2nd group. Press "Win + Ctrl + Num 2" to switch to the 2nd window of the 2nd group. Switch to another window of another group by using the mouse to click on the taskbar the target window.(Do NOT use "Win + Ctrl + Num x" in this step) Press "Win + Ctrl + Num 2". After the last step, it focuses on the 1st window of the 2nd group (should've focused on the 2nd window of the 2nd group). Note that using "Win + Ctrl + Num x" in the 3rd step to switch to another window of another group doesn't trigger this bug and the stock taskbar also works as expected. Please fix this. Though it's a small quirk, it's quite annoying as I always found myself bringing up the wrong window when I worked between windows belonging to two groups. Thanks.1 point

Awesome News! My Acer Aspire One install has hit a few driver issues. Once those are resolved, this device will be on Windows 2000 + Mypal. I remain VERY OPTIMISTIC that Mypal 68 will dethrone my DAILY need for Serpent 52 (which no longer works 100% for my needs in XP).1 point

As @feodor2 already tested this extension in Mypal 68, I think it costs only seconds to test it in a more recent Firefox version. I assume that a developer also has access to more modern Windows versions. But if you want to test this extension, do it and report here your results. I'm not going to do that because I don't care about modern browsers. I definitely don't develop anything for these browsers.1 point

Last time, you stated that you do not surf anymore under Windows XP. You have to stand by your statements at some point. You've given up Windows XP and you've said so everywhere. You only need Windows XP for your oldtimers, but not for everyday surfing. Somehow, you're just a flag in the wind. Like this today and like this tomorrow.1 point

And please, speak only for yourself! You don't know what others think or want. This is a very bad habit. And since you don't actually have any use for this browser, it's not particularly relevant what you would like to see in the development of this browser. Sorry, but that is the truth. But if you want to keep shooting at me, then don't force yourself. But, as is often the case with you, it has absolutely nothing to do with the real issue.1 point

Why should I test things I hate and which are already reported elsewhere to be working? So, there is no contradiction at all and nothing is misleading. This thread is not about modern Firefox browsers. So, I fear you are somehow confused and misled as you didn't really follow this thread and my thread about Mypal 68 in its entirety. And BTW, you did nothing meaningful here. One doesn't have to put his two cents in everywhere. Especially if one doesn't need Mypal 68 at all. And as you already stated, you are a Windows 10 user at home. This browser is not meant to be used under this OS. And you do not surf anymore under Windows XP. So, you have no real use for this browser.1 point

Where do we draw the line? By Forum Rule 2.e, this thread is technically SPAM. But despite that, "explorer7" could very well be MSFN's next "StartAllBack" gold mine.1 point

Just restart explorer after reenabling context menus You have ExplorerPatcher or sth else modifying menus I can't reproduce that, at least after wiping UserAssist key.1 point

FYI, rloew passed away five years ago. He was one of the most valued people on this forum.1 point

Brave is partially Ungoogled, unlike Thorium. Some sites require google services to be present, probably the reason win32 didn't follow the Ungoogled path.1 point

Why? I already told, it didn't help to get rid of "Hosted Data", but I only get the icon in my browser data.1 point

Your assumption is unfortunately wrong. If you had read my article carefully, you would have noticed that the All about: custom button is not a fork of an extension but of an old custom button. When I create or fork custom buttons, then a well-functioning toolbar button is the main target. So, using the All about: custom button means using the toolbar button. That's why it is called custom button and not extension. I could implement such functionality you requested but I am not interested in. Personally, I am a fan of toolbar buttons with multiple and meaningful functions.1 point

@Dietmar FYI, there are already three other threads on the subject of TRIM under Windows XP here in the forum. I don't know if you have looked through them yet. Here are the links: https://msfn.org/board/topic/181729-ssd-toolkit-for-xp/ https://msfn.org/board/topic/184168-trim-on-nvme-disk-under-winxp/#comment-1231474 https://msfn.org/board/topic/173482-can-windows-xp-pro-x86-safely-trim-an-ssd/ Cheers, AstroSkipper1 point
