  1. @ArcticFoxie , In my version at offset 6094CAF (chroem.dll) replace youtube with youbube and see if it still crashes. And I recommend you to use only adblock when visiting youtube , for this test. IP doesn't matter.

  2. I'm sorry , I do not follow . I'never said we need to "remove googleapis from 360 browser" . Never ever . Do you have a link ? Disrespect remains and it's strong . But it has nothing to do with it . I'm not sure it would be a good idea to talk about the "ungoogled" here , but it's somewhat ok since we're helping the author to create a privacy-oriented browser . About "paranoia" and the ballance between the features/anti-features. In my version , all extensions and websites work , check for youself. So I kinda reached the ballance. Ungoogled : first and foremost, it's made by a russian dude (again , lol , russians everywhere). How do I know this ? From the log it creates. The russian language entries look gibberish on my PC because I do not have any chino-russian fonts. Well , these days they teach us to "not judge a book by it's cover" , but I always judge a book by its cover and I looked into this "ungoogled" . The dude just replaced the word google with some nonsense , but didn't break the actual links and chrome still broadcasts them right into the net . Your ISP and everyone else , includuing , but not limited to KGB , lol , knows you're on "ungoogled" . Besides he didn't touch the res. pack and the google feedback and many more of the anti-features (like identity) remain fully working . How is this privacy ? It was me who gave you (and the others) the exact offsets earlier: All of them are fully functional in "ungoogled" chromium. To be fair , I always try to be fair , I didn't test the latest releases (perhaps he improved something , but I doubt it).

  4. even XP compatible hardware (wddm gpu), can feel the benefits and run faster when using w8 6.2 & wddm 1.2. After Windows XP, this only happens on w8 NT 6.2. https://web.archive.org/web/20170918122254/https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/b8/2011/10/07/reducing-runtime-memory-in-windows-8/ I agree with this. All was optimized back in the day when resources were limited. Now the cheapest computer has at least 8gb ram + SSD or SATA hdd + bus with amazing bandwidth... so resource wasting is allowed and nobody cares about it, since w10 also have memory compression... and a lot of pagination... just (started at least this way) to run metro inside a Win32 desktop OS --- All these bloated OSes (w10 + w11) are the consequence of a TEAM trying, who have the most used OS in the world, deciding how to compete to Apple's iPad back in 2011. It exactly happened when they wanted to release Windows RT without Win32 for tablets + intel releasing low powered capable atoms + trying to decide if they include Metro on desktop to have more users on non-win32 based apps... as a result we still have this nonsense aka metro aka mobile apps on desktop and all the desktop interface messed; https://winclassic.net/thread/1652/list-metro-ified-components-windows so.... MS started to left Windows DESKTOP OS in 2015 releasing w10 1507 (10240), and last Windows DESKTOP OS was 1511 (10586).... I don't know an exact term to say what kind of OS is Windows starting with 1607, it's a mobile os with some desktop interface parts? it's a desktop OS with some mobile interface? MS left desktop users in 2015. Well, what's the point? It always happened the same: an OS released today is slow for current hardware and will fly installed as a downgrade on the hardware released in 4 years from now. The only problem now is that we aren't on Vista days and we have too much background processes, too much metro too much messed up interface, too much WDDM.... it feels like they're all the time releasing an OS to be run only on gaming hardware. Long story short, it's already proven Service packs > Windows as a service NEWER is not BETTER bonus:

  7. BTW, I reorganised the chrome subfolder inside my Mypal 68 profile folder. From now on, all my uc.js script files are located in a subfolder called "Scripts" such as all css files have already been stored in a subfolder called "CSS". If someone is interested how that can be done, just ask here.

  8. The download package MYPAL_68_CB_requirements.7z from my first post is actually working as it should. But I found in one file unnecessary code which was implemented by the original creator for enabling pre-Lion fullscreen mode mode under macOS. However, this code inside the file userChrome.js spits out an error in the Browser Console under Windows XP, which I could fix in two different ways. The most simple one is to remove this code since Mypal 68 targets the Windows OSes. The other one is to add some missing code which I also did just for fun. But as I already said, this is actually nonsense. Anyway! Here is the error when using the original userChrome.js file: And here is a screenshot after removing code from the original userChrome.js file and restarting the browser: You can see the message "ReferenceError: XPCOMUtils is not defined" has gone. After some weeks of testing, I can confirm that all is working perfectly. If you are interested in and want to also do the fix manually, then you can do it as follows: Old content of the userChrome.js file: // Copyright (c) 2017 Haggai Nuchi // Available for use under the MIT License: // https://opensource.org/licenses/MIT // Set "useLionFullScreen" in the same way that it's done in // chrome://browser/content/browser-fullScreenAndPointerLock.js XPCOMUtils.defineLazyGetter(FullScreen, "useLionFullScreen", function() { return false; }); New content of the userChrome.js file: // Copyright (c) 2017 Haggai Nuchi // Available for use under the MIT License: // https://opensource.org/licenses/MIT Additionally, I will update the MYPAL_68_CB_requirements.7z package as soon as possible. 9. By borking up the links, I got less connections to Google on the startup, and the browser feels to start up lighter. (gut feeling). This seems rather logical, since the browser doesn't check the extensions on start, doesn't verify them against the webstore ones.

  10. Sorry for being blunt, something tells me, you just don't know what to do.

  11. Why? I already told, it didn't help to get rid of "Hosted Data", but I only get the icon in my browser data.

  14. Hello AstroSkipper, I didn't try to imply it's related to a specific browser. In one of my posts regarding this never existed for me issue, I merely pointed out to what it was posted from. roytam1 reported the issue again, on Sunday, (Monday?) Not sure about his local time. https://msfn.org/board/topic/185994-cant-edit-my-first-post-in-thread/?do=findComment&comment=1259650

  15. Thanks for reporting! The problems probably only occurred on Saturday. Since Sunday, it seems to be working better. At least, I didn't notice further problems since then.

  19. For me, Kaspersky AV now quits. Which antivirus would you recommend for XP? What is the new one you wrote about? I would have to renew Kaspersky otherwise. As far as I can see in your profile, you are using Windows XP Professional 32 Bit. What are your CPU specs?

  20. Looking at the images @Monroe has attached in his post: one can clearly see that updating of definitions in Malwarebytes v1.75.0.1300 is working in its Free version, too. Furthermore, I was able to activate the Pro version by using my lifetime licence. Only in the Pro version, you will have a real-time protection as is usual with Malwarebytes and many other manufactures of antimalware programmes. Cheers, AstroSkipper PS: If you have problems to open a CLP file, install IrfanView! The most recent version 4.62 is still XP-compatible and free of charge. IrfanView is a great piece of software. I use it since the 90's of last century, starting under Windows 95.

  21. I'm sorry, but this can not be taken serious in 2023 year. The first CPU with SSE2 was released in year 2000. That's more then 22 years ago. Let those people go and upgrade to something more modern. Windows XP works so much better on 4-core systems. Now we have even 8 core Ryzen work with XP. There is no excuses left for staying on none SSE2 system now. Go and upgrade to at least Core2Duo or Athlon64X2 - they are dirt cheap now. I repeat there is no excuses to seat on, like Pentium 3 or Athlon XP and demand everyone attention. Those systems are completely obsolete, they serve people well for 2 decades, now live them alone and upgrade! It is more than serious. And you do not have to understand that, either. There are users who are, for whatever reason, still interested in antimalware programmes targeting Windows XP on old hardware, whose CPU does not have more than the SSE instruction set. And it doesn't matter why. In any case, these computers still exist. For example, one of my computers is equipped with an AMD Athlon XP 3200+ Thoroughbred (Model 8). But frankly, I wonder what your problem is. It doesn't concern you anyway. I think the following rule should be applied:

  22. @Monroe! Thanks again for reporting that Malwarebytes v1.75.0.1300 is able to receive most recent definition updates in 2023! That are really great and good news. Although updating of definitions failed initially when instalIing this version, I found yet a way to get the update function of this version working again under Windows XP. It was a bit tricky but it works now such as you reported. I will write an article about that very soon. Thanks again! You are simply great. And here is the proof in form of screenshots: Cheers, AstroSkipper

  23. For all owners of a computer with a processor, that does not have more than the SSE instruction set, the air is getting thinner. The number of antimalware programmes that offer real-time protection has shrunk dramatically in recent years. The End Of Life (EOL) of Avast Antivirus 2015 was to be expected in any case. Like all AV providers, old versions are no longer supported after a certain point, and thus no further virus definitions are delivered. As a first measure, I recommend to save the last offline definition updater, when automatic definition updates will stop, to use this version as long as wanted and to have the possibility of a later reinstallation. Here is the link of the definition updater for Avast Antivirus 2015: https://install.avcdn.net/ivps9x/vpsupd.exe And for all those who, like me, have withdrawn their trust in Kaspersky and still need an antimalware programme with a background guard for their old computer after September 2023, there will be another solution beyond Kaspersky. I will write about it soon.

  24. Thanks again for checking and confirming! Thus, according to your observation, Malwarebytes v1.75.0.1300 is receiving definition updates again. Unbelievable! I will have to try this out at the next opportunity. Maybe, someone else here in the forum is using this version and can confirm this. I had a look at the version history of ZA and searched for announcements. The support of the Internet Protocol 6 (IPv6) seems to have been added only in the version 7.

  25. A brilliant solution! The German software is always on top! I know newer versions, up to recent years, still work via CMD, it's just the interface that is not loading properly.

  31. @ArcticFoxie , well it took me a while to figure out how to delete them ! Here goes . The current activated US IP , including the port , is shown on the right 192.-xxxxx . I opened every video from the front US page (12 items) and pressed play , so now twelve videos (plus the front page) title are currently playing (13). You can see each title's name at the upper part of the image. I could open much more , but then you'll start saying you can't see the favicons. Videos are UN-muted . EDIT : No , I shall not name the programme I used , sorry folks.
