  3. I have re-enabled the Task Scheduler for Windows Defender once again. I do wonder just how long ago it started working again.

  4. It was always good to have the overpowered PC relative to the era of the game you wanted to play, assuming going for the most optimal experience, though "playable" bar is indeed much lower. Taskbar button labels are enabled by disabling taskbar button combining (right-click on the taskbar->Taskbar settings). The behavior can be further tuned on per-app basis with 7+ Taskbar Tweaker if desired. Quick Launch can be added by right-click on the taskbar->Toolbars->New toolbar...->browse to %AppData%\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch->Select Folder. What bugs me a bit about the taskbar are phantom pinned items of programs that are created when moving its windows between monitors. I have set each taskbar to only show buttons of programs of the monitor it's on with button grouping disabled so can move buttons of the same program around freely.

  6. I don't see how this offer provides value to an individual consumer. To him it might look similar to the technical support scams. I wouldn't install their updates or Defender if I was paid $30. They take up disk space, are known to sometimes bring anti-features. The exception being something that is actually useful for interoperability, like new SSL certificates (forced upon us by other companies) or a new USB generation, or another technology that happens to be refinement stage about now like the Vulkan thing. But these probably won't be made as part of "security" support.

  7. interesting! so defender works for updates again?

  8. I agree with that. You can still surf well with New Moon 28 (and Serpent too). And I can confidently do without the overloaded, newfangled and resource-hungry pages in the UXP browsers.

  11. One country, which we are here forbidden to even breath towards, not to mention calling its name in relation to anything non-positive, is heavily invested in AdGuard. All engineers, the majority of AdGuard developers and other employees work from that country, but registered in Cyprus. Would you wonder why? It's to avoid any possible sanctions, complications, continue to roam free and spread in the West without consequences. They *of course* don't host their lists on servers in that country, they host on Cloudflare, and you're blocked by Cloudflare, not AdGuard. Why would AdGuard compromise their state mission? Your Cloudflare block was already explained to you, I think by Saxon. You told us you get "Are you a human?" on Cloudflare sites. So, your IP is in a bad list. I'm not getting any restrictions by Cloudflare, all is updated fine.

  12. The old Custom Buttons forum had gone long time ago. Personally, I have the most important things in my archive, which I have been maintaining for decades. So, I need practically nothing from the old forum although it is a great pity that it no longer exists. And you should also be aware that many old custom buttons are no longer compatible with newer Firefox or Firefox-based browser versions. And by that I also mean Firefox 52, which is the origin of many forks.
    1 point
  13. To me, these two statements contradict each other. Not at all. UXP browsers are evolving, but many old extensions are not. Conclusio ultima: These old extensions must be adapted or can otherwise no longer be used. Same applies to old, complete themes which are no longer compatible.
    1 point
  14. Personally, I do not use any complete themes in UXP browsers but they have always been responsible for problems. Without regular theme updates, they don't really make sense. And these no longer exist. When using the most recent releases of UXP browsers without these problematic extensions I reported in my previous posts, the internal, native session restore function is actually working properly. So you don't have to stick with old UXP browser versions.
    1 point
  15. Same applies to the extension Speed Dial 0.9.6.18. It makes the internal session manager unusable in New Moon 28. Even the Session Manager extension can no longer help. So, it seems that the changes to the browser code are sending further, old but well-known extensions into retirement for good. The Tab Utilities, the Speed Dial and partly the Session Manager extension are no longer fully compatible with New Moon 28 (and also most probably with Pale Moon).
    1 point
  16. Tab Utilities Phoenix 2.1.2 seems to have been interfering with the native session manager in New Moon 28 for some time. The current session is no longer restored correctly after (re)starting the browser. When disabling Tab Utilities Phoenix, the native session restore function seems to work again as before. Can anyone confirm this?

  17. I doubt they was unwitting. I think they knew who pay theme and understand the task very clearly. P.S. Аbout year ago i watched interview with former worker of ruZZia's (government own) TV channel to SotnikTV. He said that they internal chats with instructions and "talking points" was in Telegram. When he asked his superiors why Telegram (he naively thought that Telegram was fighting FSB) he was answered - that was show for the fools and Telegram is under tight control of FSB.

  19. Me neither! And to be fair, the nearly TWO HUNDRED telemetry connections is an UPSTREAM FIREFOX ISSUE. Anybody that uses any "forks" of Firefox should never assume that their fork isn't making the same exact UPSTREAM telemetry connections. I once tried SRWare Iron and it was always touted as privacy-conscious, I saw just as many telemetry connections in it, just to different domains! Granted, I cannot speak for current versions of SRWare Iron. There was once even a linked article here at MSFN for a very good web site that discussed these. Just too lazy to track it down at the moment.

  20. Closest thing would be Echelon but that's Firefox 4 and some styles are broken.
    1 point
  21. I did that a bit back, forgot to post back here. Not entirely sure what you mean by that. There is some delay loaded or disabled pre-10 stuff like the share menu or tablet mode for 10. All I did was undo what broke 7. What I did was make Aero work on 7 again, so it should work on r3dfox. It's not something I test, although I don't stray too far from stock. I think the custom settings options would probably break and about menu would be stock, but I guess working well enough. Everything else mentioned should be like stock Firefox. I didn't change too much. https://github.com/Eclipse-Community/r3dfox/tree/release-121

  22. Well, I did all steps without any success. I tried ProxHTTPSProxy instead of HTTPSProxy, imported ca.cert and so on. I get different error codes dependent on entries in ProxHTTPSProxy's config.ini. @xpandvistafan Did you change these settings? What am I missing?
    1 point
  23. Ok, I've merged the reg file into my registry. The first two entries have been already there, only the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\WinHttp was missing. After restarting my computer when searching updates I get a new error code 0x80244004. Additionally I tried to modify the entries [SSL No-Verify] and [SSL Pass-Thru] of HTTPSProxy's config.ini without final success. Can you provide your entries in ProxHTTPSProxy's config.ini? And did you patch anything else or have you imported additional certificates? Here is my screenshot with error code 0x80244004: https://imgur.com/yDfXPOc

  27. Yeah, he's got an extension for GitHub/GitLab utilizing so called "polyfills". Also seems to have some more specifics than just "work on these URLs". Web Components, which includes customElements, were supposed to make it in one of the last major versions of Pale Moon, but it hasn't happened yet. Partial implementation can be enabled in about:config by turning on dom.webcomponents.enabled.

  28. @roytam1 can better speak to this, but it's unlikely that later versions of his FF 45 build will help with Web compatibility issues. AIUI, the changes he's been porting into FF 45 are mostly security-related. I'd be surprised if any changes to FF 45 have been to support newer Web features, like According to the chart at the link, customElements wasn't added to Firefox until version 63, well into the Quantum era. No hope for any of @roytam1's browsers unless either: JustOff can pull off the trick with an add-on somehow (not holding my breath) MCP gets around to adding customElements support to UXP; is that what @UCyborg meant by "not finished yet?"

  31. The last version of @roytam1's FxESR 45.9.x fork that would accept the official Mozilla Fx 45.9.0 language packs, https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/45.9.0esr/win32/xpi/ is package "firefox-45.9.29-20201010-7391af2bb-win32-sse.7z"; later versions have become incompatible with the original language packs (LPs hereafter...). In said compatible build, browse to the LP you want to install (e.g. Greek = el.xpi) and click on the link; allow the site to install extensions, then click Install; after the installation has been completed, open about:config and locate pref general.useragent.locale Change its value from the default (en-US) to the one matching the freshly installed LP (e.g. el); restart the browser and voila: OTOH, if you wish to move to a more recent Fx45esr version, you'd have to use English exclusively, or adapt yourself the existing LPs to accommodate the locale changes introduced by the "upstream" Roy follows to produce his fork...

I thought we already confirmed and agreed that it's the devs' fault . Vista easily beats all later Windows . I have a very good monitor and a quality sound card , I can tell. I compared Win 7 , 8 and Vista on the same hardware and the result is in favour of Vista , of course ! Anyone with a good sound card , monitor ? C'mon ...

  48. Hi , I think I found what' going on, several functions are missing from your file : RtlLookupFunctionEntry , RtlPcToFileHeader , RtlUnwindEx , RtlVirtualUnwind (these seems to be the most inportant) . I wasn't sleeping and I've tried to add files from W7 , no success , but the error chanded to "0xC00000FD" . After several unsuccessful launches , I placed back your files and just opened the .exe with Dependency walker to confirm , yep missing. Edit 1 : also the game wants these : RtlCompareMemory , TryAcquireSRWLockShared , LdrWx86FormatVirtualImage , NtWow64WriteVirtualMemory64 NtWow64QueryInformationProcess64 , NtWow64ReadVirtualMemory64 , RtlExtendedLargeIntegerDivide , RtlInitializeExceptionChain , RtlSetUserCallbackExceptionFilter _alldiv , _allmul, _alloca_probe , _allshl , _aulldiv , _aulldvrm , _aullrem , _chkstk Edit 2 : It seems to me the game is protected with steam libraries , and steam makes these calls to those in the "Edit 1" section.

Now it says 0xC000007B all over again , like many other games. Edit : tried to run as admin , all the same. Actually redirection somewhat works , but there is this brick wall with 0xC000007B. Edit : this is the official DEMO, NONE of the files are modified.
