  3. It was always good to have the overpowered PC relative to the era of the game you wanted to play, assuming going for the most optimal experience, though "playable" bar is indeed much lower. Taskbar button labels are enabled by disabling taskbar button combining (right-click on the taskbar->Taskbar settings). The behavior can be further tuned on per-app basis with 7+ Taskbar Tweaker if desired. Quick Launch can be added by right-click on the taskbar->Toolbars->New toolbar...->browse to %AppData%\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch->Select Folder. What bugs me a bit about the taskbar are phantom pinned items of programs that are created when moving its windows between monitors. I have set each taskbar to only show buttons of programs of the monitor it's on with button grouping disabled so can move buttons of the same program around freely.

  5. I agree with that. You can still surf well with New Moon 28 (and Serpent too). And I can confidently do without the overloaded, newfangled and resource-hungry pages in the UXP browsers.

  6. Means the home IP is clean. P.S. D.Draker always knows what he tells. He has an astonishing military education, was raised in the best French traditions.

  7. One country, which we are here forbidden to even breath towards, not to mention calling its name in relation to anything non-positive, is heavily invested in AdGuard. All engineers, the majority of AdGuard developers and other employees work from that country, but registered in Cyprus. Would you wonder why? It's to avoid any possible sanctions, complications, continue to roam free and spread in the West without consequences. They *of course* don't host their lists on servers in that country, they host on Cloudflare, and you're blocked by Cloudflare, not AdGuard. Why would AdGuard compromise their state mission? Your Cloudflare block was already explained to you, I think by Saxon. You told us you get "Are you a human?" on Cloudflare sites. So, your IP is in a bad list. I'm not getting any restrictions by Cloudflare, all is updated fine.

  8. The old Custom Buttons forum had gone long time ago. Personally, I have the most important things in my archive, which I have been maintaining for decades. So, I need practically nothing from the old forum although it is a great pity that it no longer exists. And you should also be aware that many old custom buttons are no longer compatible with newer Firefox or Firefox-based browser versions. And by that I also mean Firefox 52, which is the origin of many forks.

  9. I can't really say whether the problem also occurs in Pale Moon (32-bit or 64-bit ), as I don't use this browser. It was also just a guess. In any case, the Speed Dial 0.9.6.18 and Tab Utilities 2.1.2 extensions in the latest New Moon 28 32-bit release definitely break the session restore function on my Windows XP system. The Session Manager extension only generates some errors in the Browser Console but is still working so far.

  10. Although your question is of rhetorical nature, I just want to understand what happened. The reported extensions worked for many years properly. So what is the cause for their sudden breakage?
    1 point
  11. To me, these two statements contradict each other. Not at all. UXP browsers are evolving, but many old extensions are not. Conclusio ultima: These old extensions must be adapted or can otherwise no longer be used. Same applies to old, complete themes which are no longer compatible.
    1 point
  12. Personally, I do not use any complete themes in UXP browsers but they have always been responsible for problems. Without regular theme updates, they don't really make sense. And these no longer exist. When using the most recent releases of UXP browsers without these problematic extensions I reported in my previous posts, the internal, native session restore function is actually working properly. So you don't have to stick with old UXP browser versions.

  13. Same applies to the extension Speed Dial 0.9.6.18. It makes the internal session manager unusable in New Moon 28. Even the Session Manager extension can no longer help. So, it seems that the changes to the browser code are sending further, old but well-known extensions into retirement for good. The Tab Utilities, the Speed Dial and partly the Session Manager extension are no longer fully compatible with New Moon 28 (and also most probably with Pale Moon).

  14. Tab Utilities Phoenix 2.1.2 seems to have been interfering with the native session manager in New Moon 28 for some time. The current session is no longer restored correctly after (re)starting the browser. When disabling Tab Utilities Phoenix, the native session restore function seems to work again as before. Can anyone confirm this?

  15. I doubt they was unwitting. I think they knew who pay theme and understand the task very clearly. P.S. Аbout year ago i watched interview with former worker of ruZZia's (government own) TV channel to SotnikTV. He said that they internal chats with instructions and "talking points" was in Telegram. When he asked his superiors why Telegram (he naively thought that Telegram was fighting FSB) he was answered - that was show for the fools and Telegram is under tight control of FSB.

  16. You know, as a person who live in home that recently was trembling when air-defense rocket intercepted ruZZian missile (that was aiming at my block) i see your post as incredibly dumb and ignorant.

  17. Well, I did all steps without any success. I tried ProxHTTPSProxy instead of HTTPSProxy, imported ca.cert and so on. I get different error codes dependent on entries in ProxHTTPSProxy's config.ini. @xpandvistafan Did you change these settings? What am I missing?
    1 point
  18. Ok, I've merged the reg file into my registry. The first two entries have been already there, only the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\WinHttp was missing. After restarting my computer when searching updates I get a new error code 0x80244004. Additionally I tried to modify the entries [SSL No-Verify] and [SSL Pass-Thru] of HTTPSProxy's config.ini without final success. Can you provide your entries in ProxHTTPSProxy's config.ini? And did you patch anything else or have you imported additional certificates? Here is my screenshot with error code 0x80244004: https://imgur.com/yDfXPOc

  19. I have reinstalled these four updates flawlessly. I get a fully loaded Microsoft Update site using HTTPSProxy (that's very good ) but when searching updates I get error code 0x80072F78 again. I tried to load it a several times. See my screenshot https://imgur.com/xOfqchc

  20. Ok, I've corrected that. I already said this thread is a bit confusing. Now I can see a fully loaded Microsoft Update site using HTTPSProxy. Without HTTPSProxy it doesn't work. But when searching updates I get error code 0x80072F78. See my screenshots https://imgur.com/nO9N9kh https://imgur.com/OGBN3qb

  21. Maybe write them on their forum wall ? Just a couple of questions , first is why they did it, second how to revert it back ?

  22. So did they write back ? I'm curious.

  23. It's 8.1.1.0, works FINE with Vista ! Pitch works too and very well . Hey , where's my upvote ?
    1 point
  24. Installed just for you to see the option ! Yep , I was right ! Nero has "pitch tuning" option right in the Wave Editor !

  25. I'm sorry , I don't know for sure , maybe Nero ? I remember I had a laptop which came with Nero 8 preinstalled , it was so long ago , I think it had something like that in it's Wave Editor. MPC-HC/MPC-BE is not for me , thanks , I don't like the controls.

  26. Thanks , I see , but the buttons are still ugly . I mean not much difference between these and the buttons I have . I think I'll just throw VLC away and start using another player . Thanks for the help , everyone .

  27. I'm very sorry to bother you again , but what it has to do with our favourite Vista ? And how do you explain that previous versions worked just fine ? I thought we already confirmed and agreed that it's the devs' fault . Our mentor win32 confirmed that too , he said "Yes, I confirm that the VLC developers did change the buttons between 2.x and 3.x." I'll take his word .

  28. Dixel , please show us the full comparison of something older , like 2.x.x and anything higher than 3.x.x. Thanks

  31. 1 - No , I do not , x86 systems are not affected . 2- No , I see no reason . I've read this patch was developed by a russian , so no trust by me. My PC is my choice , I do not install russian programs , I do not trust them.

  32. It's the gaming PC , not connected to the internet , zero programs (not even a screen capture), except for several games and audio player . I wasn't even hope that someone would be interested in such system, I mean cheap Pentium and 9 years old HDD , I'm flattered )))

  33. Well , that's odd , I didn't hear anything "bad" about Vista in my country . We had Siemens laptops and desktops during that days , they were quite popular and fast/robust. Later Siemens became just Fujitsu , but that's another story . Though, I liked Siemens better because they used higher quality parts. And this one , yes , I heard that alot too : "advised to replace Vista with XP after buying a PC" . Actually I did it it (but with Win2000). Just for some time , until dark themes became available . I couldn't stand Vista's paper white folder backgrounds . Are you OK with not being able to customize the background ? Earlier Windows didn't have a problem with that. Oh , and Windows 7 wasn't that popular here , we still had plenty of good working Siemens PCs , in good condition with Vista pre-installed . There was no need to replace it with Win7 , which is worse. So , many people here just skipped to Win8 (NOT including me). These days the situation is much worse . It's like a ton of zombies around and everyone with Win10/Linux.

  34. Vista is my main OS for everything , I think I told before . I use SP1 for gaming on my 1st PC and SP2 for internet on the 2nd . I also have a 7 y.o. laptop which had W8 , but I deleted it and installed XP Pro , I have a Box Version .
    1 point
  35. Ok , I see you didn't use SP1 enough . Just try it with real hardware , you won't regret . There were some good camparsions , but they got deleted . This is just what left , as one can see SP1 is faster , in real life it is even faster https://technogog.com/information/vista-sp1-vs-sp2/

  36. We are talking about our personal Vista experience , as I said , in my personal experience I had zero issues with SP1 . What issues did you have ? Name a few , please , I'm just curious.

  37. I think I was the first here who said "best antivirus is our brain". But I'm not greedy , of course you can use it , I see you liked it ))) Also , I can't see anyone who's talking about the quality , for example sound , videoplayback and gaming. Vista easily beats all later Windows . I have a very good monitor and a quality sound card , I can tell. I compared Win 7 , 8 and Vista on the same hardware and the result is in favour of Vista , of course ! Anyone with a good sound card , monitor ? C'mon ...
    1 point
  38. Actually everything was fixed in SP1 , it is way faster than SP2 in my opinion , I still use it for gaming . Also , if you have a quality sound card , you may notice a huge difference in favour of SP1. By the way , I can't say that I had problems with vanilla Vista back in 2007 (before SP1) and I had used it 'till 2009 , the only thing that was an issue for me - improrer VRAM management for games that use more than 512mb VRAM. So I decided to install SP1 in 2009 and the problem went away.

  39. So I've finally managed to launch chromium ungoogled 86.0.4240.183 64bit , after I deleted a ton of junk/bloatware bundled within , but it shows this famous blank page with "Aw , snap" : Error code: STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION. The thing I liked , it uses native Vista Aero.

  40. Hi , you should definitely return to Vista as your main OS , I don't know anything about Spotify, but I'm sure Mallware bytes 3.5.1 is working and Comodo firewall too , you can look up the last working version in this section below Have you tried Ashampoo Office ?

  42. Hi , I think I found what' going on, several functions are missing from your file : RtlLookupFunctionEntry , RtlPcToFileHeader , RtlUnwindEx , RtlVirtualUnwind (these seems to be the most inportant) . I wasn't sleeping and I've tried to add files from W7 , no success , but the error chanded to "0xC00000FD" . After several unsuccessful launches , I placed back your files and just opened the .exe with Dependency walker to confirm , yep missing. Edit 1 : also the game wants these : RtlCompareMemory , TryAcquireSRWLockShared , LdrWx86FormatVirtualImage , NtWow64WriteVirtualMemory64 NtWow64QueryInformationProcess64 , NtWow64ReadVirtualMemory64 , RtlExtendedLargeIntegerDivide , RtlInitializeExceptionChain , RtlSetUserCallbackExceptionFilter _alldiv , _allmul, _alloca_probe , _allshl , _aulldiv , _aulldvrm , _aullrem , _chkstk Edit 2 : It seems to me the game is protected with steam libraries , and steam makes these calls to those in the "Edit 1" section.

  43. I have just copied the whole game folder to another disk (not the system HDD) and now it doesn't want K32EnumProcessModulesEx in KERNEL32.dll anymore ! Now it says 0xC000007B all over again , like many other games. Edit : tried to run as admin , all the same. Actually redirection somewhat works , but there is this brick wall with 0xC000007B. Edit : this is the official DEMO, NONE of the files are modified.

  44. Found info regarding games having the exact same error on Win7."This application failed to initialize properly (0xc000007b).Click OK to terminate." And they point to VCRedist 2008. Sorry , posted in reply to myself.
