  1. Yes, I like this extension. It does its job, and the problem with the sporadic disappearance of the Clean Links' toolbar icon doesn't occur anymore.

  2. I just see in the device tree, that the normal VGA driver is not started, DevNode 0x8a052948 for PDO 0x8a052a90 InstancePath is "Root\LEGACY_VGASAVE\0000" ServiceName is "VgaSave" State = DeviceNodeStarted (0x308) Dietmar

  3. I installed on a normal compi the Nvidia device GTX 960M. And before reboot of it, I put the harddisk out and connect it to the HP Omen. I can see the mouse pointer at desktop. But then comes a message shield: lsass.exe - System Error Insufficient system resources exist to complete the API. Dietmar

  4. 347.90 is a unique, unlocked developer driver without throttling; I found it a long time ago. https://msfn.org/board/topic/184793-gtx-980ti-unity-crashes-vista-x64/?do=findComment&comment=1246223 "runs even better it now runs at 240 fps ... before that it would run at 120 to 140 fps" https://msfn.org/board/topic/184793-gtx-980ti-unity-crashes-vista-x64/?do=findComment&comment=1246209

  5. Thanks, that I know, but there's a software driver and Intel ME management interface, isn't it the same as the PCI controller driver, no?

  6. Yeah, but wouldn't system think it now has a fully functional device and is allowed to communicate with Intel ME through it, no? Like OS communicates with BIOS.

  7. 365.19 has a very slow performance comparing to 347.90. 365.19 is the point where they started to shift onto Pascal. Try 347.90 yourself, see the difference.

  8. The good is that the user of New Moon and Serpent has still the choice, at least until now. All prefetching features can be manually disabled to ensure that uBlock Origin Legacy works properly, especially if the user notices interference. So, everyone can decide for themselves what is important to them.

  9. Yessaaaa I succeed to start XP SP3 on this HP Omen Notebook ax009ng. The idea, to use an external XP from my Asrock z370 k6, where I install "wrong" the GTX 960M was the breaktrough. Lan so Internet, sound, USB2,3, Cam, all works. The driver for the 960M just now not started, I think because until now all is in "Standard PC", means no acpi at all. But it can also be a more serious problem. The driver for the GTX 960M (mobile) for XP SP3 from Nvidia is there, but who knows, if it works on all notebooks. Dietmar PS: Acpi will come, but this will be a hard fight with the Acpi tables DSDT, SSDT..

  10. @reboot12 I think yes, that it is an AMI Bios. It is labeled as Insyde Bios. I test some tools that I have, but no one can extract the whole Bios from the running compi. It is chipset Intel HM170 (mobile) Dietmar

  11. FWIW, I'm now using uBlock Origin Lite on Thorium and Supermium on XP, and Google Chrome 127 on Windows 10. Like a huge number of people, I always loved uBlock Origin, but it will be disabled on Chrome soon, as we all know. The Lite version seems to work fine, and blocks as many ads as the full version, as far as I can see. My one regret is that it doesn't have the function to block elements in a page, so I'm now having to let through a few banners and the like which I used to block. I think I can live with that though. Going back to Firefox isn't really an option for me, as there is no Firefox equivalent browser for XP which will sync with Firefox on Windows 10 and my phone. (I have to use Firefox on my phone as Android Chrome does not allow extensions, and using a browser with no blocker is an absolute no-no as far as I'm concerned!)

  12. You're welcome. Although I'm not an expert on Vista, more on XP and 7, I still follow it and collect drivers, updates and programs. Glad to be of help. By the way, I noticed that the icons and buttons on MSFN are not showing up, you need to install Fontawesome fonts, then the icons will show up. https://fontawesome.com/v4/assets/font-awesome-4.7.0.zip

  14. PCI-controller, I realized, there the necessary IDs only for 7+, I added for all, so the driver signature is gone, when during the installation will write that the driver is not verified, click "install this driver anyway". https://mega.nz/file/rrh0iQYZ#OuPCI6IaqzoFi2jF95PPu6zl9cbJ5yaoewuOTp0OMaQ On the network card my drivers didn't install at all, because you can see that the system driver is installed, maybe it has a newer date so the system thinks it's the most appropriate. So try installing the driver in fully manual mode: ПКМ на сетевой карте - Обновить драйверы... - Выполнить поиск драйверов на этом компьютере - Выбрать драйвер из списка... - Установить с диска. Дальше указать inf файл драйвера. Try TP-Link_6.250.0908.2011 driver first, if it doesn't install, try another driver. If both fail to install, take screenshots of the error. This is Vista after all, it might be a bit different here, I'll check the performance later. I'm not giving drivers, I'm giving plugs that make it so the Device Manager doesn't show non-installed devices, but there is no driver as such.

  15. I don't have the patience to use quad CPU computer in this age. I remember using it in the days of simpler WWW (2006-08), it wasn't anything to be thrilled about. I was in shock how poorly the over-popularised Q6600 was performing at the age when all games where optimised for two cores at most (2007-10), I was in shock when I tried to install the 2015 version of 10 on that PC, it took a day! The PC was prepared for a friend, trust me or not, I never loaded Win10 to even have a peek.

  17. Yes and no. Let's see, Opera has its own VPN, when you choose to always "connect at start", it will, it's not spying, technically. I read FF now has a VPN, too. Is it any good?

  18. Basically, you don't want that crap. It's geolocation for default search engine, in other words, gathering your IPs. "In order to set the right default search engine for your location, Firefox will perform a geolocation lookup once by contacting Mozilla's servers and store the country-level result locally. This connection happens on the first start of Firefox – in case you want to prohibit that, you will have to preconfigure the browser and set the browser.search.geoip.url preference to a blank string." https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-stop-firefox-making-automatic-connections

  23. First of all, a little tip when replying to a post by quoting. Afler clicking the quote button, you should put your reply outside the quote. Otherwise your actual reply is hidden inside the quote, and only expanding the quote would make it readable. Back to the CSS code. All is described in detail in my article and additionally inside the MYPAL_68_CB_requirements.7z package. It's almost like an instruction manual. You can't really do anything wrong. The whole thing actually only takes a few minutes. Once this initial setup is done, you can easily add or manage UC.JS scripts as well as CSS stylesheets. If you have problems following the instructions, feel free to ask here!

  25. The "Purge all caches" button was unfortunately removed when releasing uBlock Origin 1.55. I love it when useful, tried and tested features are simply removed, for whatever reason. Here is a link: https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock/releases/tag/1.55.0 The good is, in my special mod uBlock Origin Legacy which of course isn't compatible with Mypal 68, it will stay forever. But this is another story.

  27. If you want to use prefetching for faster loading of websites and their content, you should untick this option in uBO to avoid interference. But prefetching and DNS prefetching shouldn't be mixed up.

  28. I only had to click on the button "Purge all cashes" and, after updating all filter lists, the BPCF filter list was updated, too. The BPCF website does not work in New Moon 28, either, but fortunately in Thorium.

  29. I have just noticed that the update of the BPCF userscripts seem to be done automatically by the developer. You will only notice that if the userscript manager has been configured to update them automatically, too. If so, user actions are not really necessary.

  30. @D.Draker Until now, on really ALL boards that I have and any OS, I notice the going downspeed of any USB after copying about 40 Gbyte, to a speed of about 10MByte/s. On this nice ASRock N100DC-ITX this does not happen. So, Intel makes something different in its hardware for USB Dietmar

  34. First, you should fully enable hardware acceleration especially if your hardware is weak. Most corresponding prefs have already been enabled by default but the following ones should be set to the value true in any case: layers.prefer-d3d9, layers.acceleration.force-enabled and media.hardware-video-decoding.force-enabled. To force YouTube using the H.264 format, you can install the extension h264ify which you then have to configure to your needs. Personally, I avoid to play YouTube videos in browsers on my system. It's much too bloated. I prefer to use Invidious if I really want to watch those videos in a browser. Anyway! You can also install some user scripts from Greasy Fork to change YouTube settings in Mypal 68 as, for example, https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/480137-youtube-h-264-fps, or https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/493563-hide-vp9-support-from-youtube-force-30-fps-video by using Tampermonkey. But you have to test each user script as some of them don't work anymore due to the permanent changes by YouTube.

  35. Update notification Mypal 68.14.0b has been released on Codeberg.org, Therefore, I updated the first post of this thread. In this version, the automatic update of extensions is not enabled. If you are interested in re-enabling this feature, simply read this instruction: Restoring the manual and automatic update function for extensions in Mypal 68.13.3b Altough written by me for an older release, this instruction is still valid for Mypal 68.14.0b. 36. - Windows NT 5.x family windowsupdate.com links for available languages, including all (any?) Custom Support Updates - The updates links are grouped for each build, slightly sorted, and ordered lexicographically per update number or file name as possible - Superseded (replaced) updates are not filtered or excluded - The dump is available as csv files containing updates name and url, or plain text files containing updates url - It's recommended to use CSVFileView to check the csv files https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/csv_file_view.html - You can filter or extract updates for certain language using findstr (Vista or 7) e.g. findstr /i \-enu NT_5.2.3790-x64-Custom.csv > NT_5.2.3790-x64-Custom-enu.csv however, few update have different language identifier or none, so it's best to review the whole file first - NT_5.1.2600-x86-SP2-Custom and NT_5.1.2600-x86-SP2-Custom-IE are ment for the EOS Windows XP SP2 x86 only - NT5-ia64 is for Itanium-based Server 2003 / Windows XP - .NET Framework packs and updates for NT 5.1/5.2 are in a separate list files, likewise Windows Media Player and some eXtra updates # P.S. Maybe it's best not to post the links explicitly in the forum replies or text sites (pastebin, txtuploader..), and share them in the txt/csv files # Download https://gitlab.com/stdout12/adns/uploads/9ca06a12dd08c06edd889e65afa637fa/NT5_WU_URLs_csv.7z https://gitlab.com/stdout12/adns/uploads/33fcfd0b0f6c1a0cb74472cb8407800d/NT5_WU_URLs_txt.7z

  43. Hey guys, I put together an installer for Roy's browsers. It checks a file on my server to see the latest version (keeping that updated shouldn't be an issue for me) and then it downloads the latest browser version from roys site and installs it. Currently it supports Basilisk (x86 and x64), and New Moon (x86 and x64). Tested OSes with the installer include XP and Vista (both x86 and x64 editions) Other builds are not currently supported due to the sometimes irregular build interval http://i430vx.strangled.net/files/XP/RoyTam Browser Installer.exe If you find any bugs, LMK Thanks for @WinClient5270 for noticing that you must have the visual basic runtime installed first for the installer to work. (Install VC Redist 2008 from Microsoft)
