  1. I used to say Windows 10 is worst Microsoft operating system, but I have to take my word back, Windows 11 way worse . I did more testing with it more on my isolated lab network (Yes I highly trust new MS products). It is pain to configure for deployment. Yet have not found way to configure start menu template properly. Was way easier on classic start menu since mostly needed drop files to sample user folder on image or server. ADMX templates on servers need to be replaced. Also I do not like built in android emulator, because it may take developement away from win32 and 64 (or appx if someone even uses that). When Microsoft will enable it somepoint I really hope they add GPO option to disable it (more replacing files on server yey!). And worst of all it feels like running Windows 95 on 386 with 4mb ram despite test hardware is fast enough (ryzen 5 3600). I keep having high cpu usage from edge. And do not get me started on Windows 365. It is like returning to terminal era where all client systems were dumb terminals connected into company mainframe that generally was leased off big company like Digital or IBM that charged per cpu cycle at worst. I really really hope my or other workplaces wont get it. I see huge security risk on that too. Imagine your hard drive being on cloud and then someone hacks that service and downloads all of virtual disks. There goes trade secrets and others. I really wish could have had something positive to say, but Microsoft did not learn anything from Windows 8 or Windows 10 and future of computing looks dark . Well since it will be shoved down everyone throat who works on IT (or anything with computers) without questioning, time to start testing deployments. I have not tested, but pretty sure using bios will fail on MDT since Windows 11 needs uefi. Then test automated installations and other things.

  2. Clean Flash Installer repo moved, for now, to GitLab: https://gitlab.com/cleanflash/installer/-/releases/34.0.0.192 If Adobe are really determined, the future of that second repo might also be uncertain... PS: If on WinXP, to load that GitLab page you need a UXP browser by roytam1, along with the very latest version of github-wc-polyfill extension by JustOff; any flavour of 360EE will also do...

  3. What about OldNewExplorer, will it also be developed again by you for Win11? I would like to have the Win7 Explorer back in Win11 if possible.

  8. I have never used the tool, instead I have always used the manual process outlined on page #1 of this thread: Download and extract the two updroots.exe packages (they are the same except for the inf files): · updroots.exe [5.2.3790.4456] · ADVPACK.DLL [7.0.5489.0] · rvkroots.inf and rootsupd.inf Tweak both rvkroots.inf and rootsupd.inf with: · VERSION="5,0,2195,0" · Ver="005" and Ver="040" Download the latest .sst files (from http://www.download.windowsupdate.com/msdownload/update/v3/static/trustedr/en/): · disallowedcert.sst · authroots.sst · delroots.sst · roots.sst · updroots.sst Use Rundll32.exe to apply the files: · Rundll32.exe advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection rvkroots.inf,DefaultInstall · Rundll32.exe advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection rootsupd.inf,DefaultInstall This has always worked for me. Ben.

  9. One of the addresses of wsus.ds.download.windowsupdate.com resolves to 8.238.102.254 on Level 3 for me. I suppose Microsoft has content distribution networks all over the world on various IPs. How else would you get the certificates if the server required SSL but you didn't have the certificate because you need to run the updater? An SSL server typically asks for the newest algorythms and cerficiates to appear professional.

  10. Ah right. This is what your registry entry for the updater should look like. Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cert_Updater] "Version"="1.6" "SST_Download_URL"="http://wsus.ds.download.windowsupdate.com/msdownload/update/v3/static/trustedr/en" "SST_Download_URL_D1"="http://ds.download.windowsupdate.com/msdownload/update/v3/static/trustedr/en" "SST_Download_URL_D2"="0" "SST_Download_URL_D3"="0" "SST_Download_URL_D4"="0" "SST_Download_URL_D5"="0" "max_number_of_download_attempts"="30" "file_for_settings_URL"="0" "log_file_enable"="0" "end_timer"="0" "AUTHDATE"="20210910" "DELDATE"="20210910" "ROOTDATE"="20210910" "UPDDATE"="20210910" "DISALLOWEDDATE"="20210316" "Last Update Roots"="06/10/21 22:35 Status OK" "Last Update Revoked"="06/10/21 22:35 Status Ok" "webspider_to_compare"="1" If it's the same, I don't know why it would be looking in those strange places! 13. Well Finnish language is different depending on provinces. Every place use different wording. And learning it is hard since we do not use similar grammar rules as other languages. In English for example there is the, an, a, but we do not have any of those. It is rather confusing language and only way master it is if been using it whole life. Good thing is even computers and AI translators fall short on it so easy to detect machine translated sites. And yes I am native Finnish and been living there my whole life. And no we do not take sun on -40c or fight against polar bears despite internet claiming that. And claim is true. We do have many words used with slight changes. For example revving is revittää in finnish. Ok I get back to topic too now I do not have experience with exact chipset, but with one that is near same. Q35 chipset with core2duo works with Windows 98, but you need enable IDE mode to SATA drives and change IDE mode to legacy. If board lacks that option use legacy since it should do the same. Before installing Windows 98 copy all install files from install cd win98 folder into c:\windows\system\precopy . That is default path Windows 98 uses to search for files if cd is not detected during phase 2 of setup. In my experience setup has to be started from CD/DVD drive in order make Windows 98 detect drive later on newer chipset. use following setup switch "/p i /im /is". In english Windows 98 this is setup.exe /p i /im /is and on your depending whatever is name of 98 setup executable. Those switches skips pnp bios detection (acpi wont work on that chipset) and scandisk. After setup you can use either univbe or Windows 98 compatible pci e (nvidia 6xxx, 7xxx atleast). On my tests was very stable after disabled acpi
