  1. ... Well, fortunately things aren't yet as dire as you pictured them , all thanks to web.archive.org The URL https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html has been captured 187 times in total, the last time "valuable" content was still in was on July 18th 2020 (https://web.archive.org/web/20200718192527/*) The last version of Adobe Flash Player without the 2021 timebomb was/is 32.0.0.371; WAO have actually captured the following URI https://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/installers/archive/fp_32.0.0.371_archive.zip 5 times, last one was on June 30th, 2020 (https://web.archive.org/web/20200630185943/*) ; the zip archive itself is at 388 MiB, so it'll take a while to come down from WAO... It contains all possible flavours of installers/packages, no need to search further... Don't make that mistake again...

  5. Nice job with MailNews. I was unable to add the Yahoo IMAP account with Thunderbird 52.9.1, kept getting configuration errors. They're now forcing everyone to OAuth2 so you have to delete the old Yahoo account and setup a new one. MailNews worked like a charm up so I can keep using Yahoo with XP.

  6. Ye, same here. Just tried to understand what jeromescuggs did in his screenshot (he never responded in this thread) and found the solution on a little research. And I think everyone should be able to get the knowledge so I posted it.

  7. They replied by phone and the terms of recovering HDD and SSD are similar (of course some the process are different), and for SSD recovering includes 1TB external HDD for returning data. and for "recoverable" means the whole data that original device can hold that can be recovered in percentage > 50% will cost HK$3000, and for > 70% will cost HK$6800, in between them will be discounted. I'm still thinking about that since it is big money for the data recovery.

  8. Yeah I didn't act quickly enough, I only discovered the thread about 2 days ago. As such my best archive is a version 27 build, and even that was a b***h and a half to track down. I've always loathed Adobe since CC and the discontinuation of Fw, but I never expected this level of aggression toward the user. This is on a another level

  10. hard to tell. the changes between 20181222-ba81aaf07-xpmod and 20181229-83cd9661c-xpmod are minor: https://github.com/MoonchildProductions/UXP/compare/ba81aaf07...83cd9661c unless it is AV1 content (which is unlikely since AV1 decoding is super-heavy) since there was an update between these builds. not possible, because ffmpeg 3.4 knows only software decoding.

  11. Four updates today. KB4484530 (Office) KB4484532 (Office) KB4486660 (Word) KB4486665 (Excel) KB4484530 contains another XP incompatible version of MSO.DLL. All downloaded from the Update Catalogue and installed manually. I guess next month's updates, if any, will be the last!

  12. Finally got around to installing the patches, all OK apart from, as has been said, KB4484454 which contains another XP incompatible MSO.DLL. All fine as usual after the old one was put back. Let's hope the next two batches of Office 2010 updates, which will be the last ones, are still signed with SHA1 so they will install on XP. It will be very annoying if they aren't when it's so near to EOS anyway!
