  1. Here, you will find a list of software compatible with Windows Vista, after installing the new extended kernel by Win32. As this project is very new, this list will remain quite short for the time being. List: BeamNG.Drive 0.16 and later Chromium versions 53-73 beta (later versions currently do not work) Firefox "classic" versions 53-56 Firefox Quantum version 57 and later GIMP 2.10.18 Google Earth 7.3.3 and later Interlink Mail client Logitech Gaming Software 9.02 Opera 44 (later versions currently do not work) Palemoon 28.x Rocket League Thunderbird versions 53 and later Waterfox Classic Waterfox Current Whatsapp I will continue to update this list as more software is made compatible. Feel free to contribute your own additions in the form of a reply to the topic, and I will add them ASAP.

  2. These shortcomings can be fixed if you copy kernel32 to system32 and delete it from the Firefox folder. However, the purpose of listing extended kernel-compatible software in a thread dedicated to indicating vanilla software compatibility is usually discouraged (see 98SE and XP threads). So I think a new thread should be started for extended kernel compatible software.

  3. Wow thanks for answering you two. I am a diehard Windows Vista Fan and I grew up using Windows Vista. I think they should have treated Vista better and not always combine it with XP when it comes to EOL's (Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Office, LibreOffice..). I mean XP = 2001 ; Vista = 2006/7.. Vista should have received Office 2013 and IE10. I think IE9 is the longest supported Internet Browser in the world, as Server 2008 will receive IE9 updates till 2023, making IE9 unbelievable 12 years old. Microsoft should have definitly given Server 2008 IE10 or 11.. they treated this Server like s***. Talking about IE10, will it ever be possible to port IE10 from Windows 7 or early betas of Windows 8 to Windows Vista? And can you please upload a screenshot of Firefox 78 running on Vista? It feels like ages when I saw a modern browser on Vista.

  4. I would take old Windows' DWM-less 3D bordered UI over this Metro flattyville crap any day. Just pop on that Maple color scheme, set the background to bluelace16.bmp on tiled. I would be complete. Oh how we took classic theme, 16-bit DOS compatibility, etc. for granted!

  6. Weird, because to me the the boxiness of Win10 mixed with the removal of aeroglass makes it look like a bit like Windows 95/ME.

  7. That's because their highly correlated topics. The only reason aeroglass breaks is because Microsoft keeps tweaking the graphical interface with their big updates. Obviously there's merit to that making us think windows 10 sucks. I still have no idea why MS removed Aero from Win10. You could run Aero no problems on technology from 10 years ago. Today's tech should have so much redundant power it should be a non issue.
