  2. SUMMARY OF CHANGES TO THE LIST FOR SEPT 13, 2019: Added SeaMonkey 2.49.5 as last version for Vista in "Web browsers" -> "Firefox-based" section. Added Mumble (x86 only) to "Instant Messaging software" section. Updated status of Telegram Desktop on Windows XP/Vista: the software continues to be updated on XP/Vista despite the supposed-end of support on Sept 1. Added VMware Workstation 11.1.2 and VMware Workstation 12.0.0 as last UNS versions for Vista to "Virtualization software" section.

  3. Just a quick update, as I decided not to pay for the "windowsarchives.com" domain any more, and it has recently expired. The reason is that I have other things, unrelated to Windows, which I also want to share, so I would rather use and pay for just one single domain under my own name, and keep all the other things in their respective subfolders. I am sorry for the inconvenience and I hope you will understand . Anyhow, the Windows Archives website is, of course, not dead, and from now on will be available under https://twilczynski.com/windows.

  6. Confirmed. Fails on both FF 52.9.1 and Serpent 55. Looks just like before. Works in Serpent 52 (just like before). Instagram probably changed their styling in some way that broke @mixit's fix.

  7. Well, just for completeness, I've just added it to @mixit's 1st post in the Primetime thread, so as to keep things as together as possible.

  8. The situation with Serpent 55 and 52 resembles the situation with SeaMonkey and BNav. Of each pair, the former browsers are generally better, but are no longer actively maintained by their original creators. With Serpent 55 (and a few other browsers in the same situation, such as FF 45 ESR), @roytam1 does what he can, importing fixes from ArcticFox and other sources to keep them as up-to-date as practical. But there are no weekly updates coming from "upstream;" that's why updates to these browsers occur irregularly. I too happen to prefer Serpent 55; for me the main difference is slightly better support of WebExtension-style add-ons, particularly the Multi-Account Containers add-on. I don't mind getting less frequent updates in exchange.

  9. I do not need anything personally, having long ago manually edited my Vista x86 registry according to VistaLover's instructions. My point was that those instructions, and therefore @greenhillmaniac's Reg file, are insufficient for Vista x64. The information provided by Lambo should be sufficient for greenhillmaniac to make an x64 version of the Reg file, but it appears that he has not yet done so. If you want to manually edit your registry, a disciple of VistaLover posted instructions at another forum that include the additional edits needed for Vista x64. However, you should not expect too much from IE9 even with this enhancement.

  10. ... Actually, I could not reproduce this on my Vista SP2 32-bit Home Premium installation; grabbing MSIs from their GitHub repository, all versions 1.3.0rc1, 1.3.0rc2 and the stable final release 1.3.0 had no issues installing and (at least) launching properly under my OS : As I'm not a gamer myself, I can't really tell if the application works fully as intended! Seeing you're on Vista Ultimate x64, perhaps what you report is true for the x64 OS, when the mumble-1.3.0.winx64.msi installer is being used; other Vista x64 users may have to test, too... But on Vista x86, all appears OK thus far... (BTW, I believe the x86 mumble version can surely work in your x64 Vista OS, wouldn't it? )
