  1. If you're still using Windows Vista (like me) and would like to play games with the XBOX One Controller, then you're pretty much out of luck.. Right? No! You can actually install the Windows 7+ XBOX One Controller driver on Windows Vista without modifying anything. You just need to extract the .MSI installer and install the driver via Device-Manager. But you don't need to do all this since i already uploaded it for you.. DOWNLOAD DRIVERS Have fun!

  2. Hi, dencorso, This isn't necessary the information that Yellow Horror give was definitely the cause of what was happening - that and that I had a Windows setting made that allowed internet activity to wake the computer once it had gone to sleep (as detailed in posts above). Basically, I had one router, a Virgin Media Super Hub 2, connected to the computer in modem only mode. Seems that when this is done then, as Yellow Horror correctly identified, the router only acts as a bridge and hence has no firewalling functionality (in that mode) and hence my computer was exposed to all internet activity aimed at it and that was what was waking the computer from sleep. If I then connected another router between the Super Hub and the computer the waking from sleep problem disappeared -- the second router was now providing firewalling functionality. Hence, the problem was using only the Super Hub in modem only mode which was exposing my computer to all internet activity aimed at my machine and that was what was waking it up. Thanks for the thought though.

  3. Just as a test, change the mouse for another one. A brand-new el cheapo will do. Then keep the new one on for a whole day and see whether the issue disappears...

  5. XP was the greatest Windows ever and a HUGE, HUGE leap over Windows 2000 in every possible way, right from day 1: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Features_new_to_Windows_XP With SP2 and SP3, the security was bolstered too. Windows 10 is truly the apocalypse and dumb people are to be blamed for accepting it and the shite that started with Windows Vista, got worse with 8/8.1 and eventually the malware-OS, 10.

  6. In this case you should install Update 1 (it has no telemetry and it corrects a bunch of Windows 8.1 bugs).

  7. IF disconnecting the network interfaces don't work, it had to be a malware infection. Let's just say it might be. Spyware trojan dysfunctions the system settings and your basic settings changes and personalization don't work. Up to my knowledge, K7 Total Security detects spyware trojan. You can also try scanning with a good antivirus like Norton or AVG.

  9. Phew... after a lot of research and work, this post is mostly complete. Now I just need you, @greenhillmaniac, to repost your experience with using Vista on Ryzen, plus the RX 300 series drivers that you discovered recently, whenever you get a chance. If you're busy, I understand, there's no rush

  10. It's a tough spot for sure. It's one guy working on the project, and we only have to pay once for a lifetime license. The last update came out superquick, but overall they've been slow to come out. It's too bad MS messes with the OS so much, that it takes BigMuscle month's to fix aeroglass to work with the new version. Hopefully 1.5.9 comes out soon, but I understand why the updates take so long.
