You can trust it, as i486 is only an intermediary that publishes the code and binaries. The code itself is written by Vxiiduu, the original creator. Vx is still active on Discord and sometimes asks people for testing.

I was able to get UA installed with the second link. The first link just doesn't work for me with the security settings. I will have to spend some time with it to understand the correct settings. Thanks ...

It is a built-in safety feature derived from older Firefox architecture designed to protect your system from unverified files and drive-by downloads.

I still can't find the link you mentioned. At the User Agent Switcher and Manager website I can't find any 'version history' link. What security settings would these be? ... in the browser profile or at the MSFN site profile?

VistaLover started following I'm no longer receiving e-mail notifications from MSFN
-
Greetings to all MSFN staff ; as other members have commented elsewhere, the MSFN forum has been flaky/erratic , at least for the past two weeks or so; the issue is more pronounced during night time in my time zone (CEST+01:00); according to a recent post by @Dave-H , this is due to constant bot attacks to the forum server, and the only person with direct access to the server itself, @xper , is on a (much deserved) summer vacation currently; I'm not 100% certain the issue I experience can also be attributed to the bot attacks, but here it goes: Below is a screencap of my MSFN account's notification settings: As I hope you can see for yourself (imgur has been reported to have some accessibility issues in some parts of the rest of Europe, but works fine here in Greece otherwise), the e-mail option has been enabled by me for all types of MSFN notifications; this accommodation has worked fine for me until (and including) July 28th 2026; the last e-mail notification I've received from MSFN was on 23:33 (UTC+03:00) : Then... NOTHING! When I log-in to my MSFN account in the browser (r3dfox-140/New Moon 28), the "Notifications List" appears to still work, with a visible alert of new notifications in the relevant button; below, a screencap taken yesterday (July 30th): I received no e-mail about those 3 notifications ; and the same thing continues for a third day in a row; one more notification today, for which I received no e-mail: So, this is something that, obviously, won't go away by simply waiting for it to rectify itself , hence this report ... TTBOMK, nothing has changed with regards to my e-mail address since July 29th, it continues to function OK for every other task I use it for, including getting email notifications from other forums/services (e.g. GitHub) ... FWIW, I've had the same issue occur to me once. maybe twice, in the past; I'd let one whole day go by without e-mail notifications from MSFN, then my course of action was to a) sign-out of my MSFN account b) clear all MSFN-related browser cookies c) clear browser cache d) restart browser e) sign-in to MSFN account anew f) navigate to https://msfn.org/board/notifications/options and re-affirm (un-tick/tick back) my e-mail related preferences; then, e-mail notifications would start arriving fine again, as before; I've tried that same procedure numerous times yesterday, but to no avail (as detailed, no e-mail even for today's 1 notification browser alert); any help would be much appreciated; MSFN e-mails for me constitute a form of MSFN archival (for when the forum goes off-line) and an easy way to search (within my e-mail client) for interesting members' posts inside threads I've subscribed to; so, I wouldn't want to miss this "precious" forum feature ... Kindest regards.

This is not for general use. It is meant for a manually created SSUAO in about:config for cloudflare.com only.

Yes, understand ... I did check and see that the UA was changed. I wanted to try the UA that you supplied a page back. Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:68.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/68.0 To see if the 'cloudjunk' sites might work better.
-
This is due to your security settings. Don't install it directly but download it locally first! That kind of thing doesn't happen with me.

I seem to have a new problem using the link that you supplied. I don't recall ever seeing a message like this before in Mypal. I was able to install those three User Agent programs at the 'Firefox Browsers Add-ons' page to try. Message from your link from the top of the Mypal browser. 'msfn.org Mypal prevented this site from asking you to install software on your computer.' It may be a Profile setting, I have looked in my Mypal profile but am seeing nothing.

When using unknown extensions, test them deeply and check on a user agent website if they are really working as advertised! BTW, this extension actually requires FF91+. Just because you can install an extension doesn’t necessarily mean it will actually work.

You have to go to the version history and select the xpi file for 0.5.0. Has been working fine in Mypal 68/74/78 for years. Here is the direct download link: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/downloads/file/4098688/user_agent_string_switcher-0.5.0.xpi

Went back to the Firefox add-on page and the Sand Agent download is visible again. User Agent by SandVPN Change the identity your browser announces — User-Agent, client hints and navigator properties — always as one coherent set. Per-site rules, a free-form User-Agent field, and a built-in detection diagnostic. No account, nothing collected. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/user-agent/ Firefox Browsers Add-ons https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/ About this extension: Some sites still refuse Firefox. SandAgent lets you present a different browser identity — and, unlike most user-agent switchers, it keeps every related value consistent with the one you chose. EVERYTHING FROM ONE SOURCE The User-Agent header and navigator.userAgent are produced from the same value, so they cannot contradict each other. The same goes for the platform, appVersion, vendor, the Sec-CH-UA client hints and navigator.userAgentData. A mismatch between them is the first thing any detection script looks for, and it is the flaw most user-agent switchers ship with. TWO KINDS OF PROFILE, CLEARLY LABELLED Stealth presents you as a different Firefox — a different version, or a different operating system. Because the engine really is Firefox, nothing in the environment can contradict the disguise. Compatibility presents you as Chrome, Edge or Safari. This unblocks sites that read the User-Agent string, which is what most of them do. WHAT IT DOES NOT DO Compatibility profiles do not fool bot-detection systems, and the add-on says so in its own interface. The TLS and HTTP/2 fingerprints are produced by Firefox's network stack, below any extension API, and services like Cloudflare cross-check them against the announced User-Agent. No browser extension can change that. If you want a quiet browsing experience on protected sites, the honest answer is to stay on a Firefox profile. THE RIGHT PROFILE, SITE BY SITE Keep your real Firefox everywhere and put on a Chrome profile only where you need it. A rule covers a domain and all its subdomains, and both the headers and the JavaScript follow it. YOUR OWN USER-AGENT Paste any string. SandAgent uses it verbatim and derives the matching values from it. If it cannot read the string, it says so instead of guessing — no bundled list of user agents, so nothing ever goes stale. BUILT-IN DIAGNOSTIC One click replays, on the current page, the checks a fingerprinting script would run. It reports what is coherent, what is not, and which engine-level tells remain out of reach of any extension. PRIVATE BY DESIGN No account. No analytics. No telemetry. No data collection of any kind. SandAgent makes no network requests of its own; it only modifies requests your browser was already making. Available in English and French.

AS ... tried to download from the site and I got this: The add-on downloaded from this site could not be installed because it appears to be corrupt. https://addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/addon/user-agent-string-switcher/ User-Agent Switcher and Manager von Ray ...

OK ... very good thank you. I just finished posting some additional information to my original post inquiry. I will download and try the one you just posted. I never heard of it but it may better than the one I just found. The one I found seems a little complicated but I did finally figure it out.

Hi ... I am looking for a 'user agent switcher' for Mypal 78.0.3. I have tried a few older ones that I found but they don't install. The message is always 'appears to be corrupt'. I have been looking at the Firefox add on page and a general search but have not come across anything that works. thanks ... add: I have went back through all the user agents listed at a Firefox add-on page and I found three that actually do install. Strange that I did not find any before. Firefox Browsers Add-ons https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/ This one seems to install OK and you can change the user agent. Sand Agent ... however I went back to where I found it a short time ago and it is no longer there. I am sure it was there at the site but now I don't know exactly where it was. The other two are still there and do install: User-Agent Switcher by ntninja User Agent Switcher by thewheat I do like Sand Agent but it's only been installed a short time and as I mentioned earlier ... I can no longer find the add on. ...

that just proofs it again, there are people around who fully intensional try to make bad influence i also tryed to point out girls and feelings and one of them trys for example over that (for example a guy did apear and tryed a different taktic, he scremed around i have the patent right - like rage out bla bla - only that these things at least dont work on me) - he had no patent rights by the way - he is trying to make bad influence a other thing is this win2000 question i often said that this is to much in more directions asking - it was a long road even for xp and we are a xp community - at least where we talked and where we post) - we can give win2k the codes - but they are around more like open source and so also it raise questions if you have a bad computer you in like every case can use xp i think they trying to make balast - in hope that the thing breaks up (i dont fall for that) i often said also you wasted a lot of energy into the win2k question - its not like that i hate win2k or something but i can see the other directions that user agent changer is no crime either - rather i think its a crime from them to read out a certain computer like - oh this guy has win2k - just trow him out and make him buy a new pc (betrayal, monopol, anti-trust) that they tryed it with a virus and bad influence is just showing that rather you should fix the last missing one - it dont seem a problem to me - why you would give these guys (who kicked your compuper) leave a open hole ?

This feels like a "trolling". Is it? You probably only want "two" tidbits, but some things aren't "that easy". 1) Because I placed blind trust in one (it was not from here at MSFN but the "ideology" behind it is/was) and I had to reformat/reinstall because that trust was misplaced. The "updater" broke more web sites than it fixed. My mistake, I own every mistake I ever make. Personal Accountability. My only way to restore those broken web sites was to restore my computer to Official Microsoft and the way that Official Microsoft updates its own certificates. Which I guess is a form of "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". 2) "Your computer, your rules." You really have to decide for yourself if you are going to "hack" your system. Maybe your system is already a "hack job", so what's one more hack on top of the several other hacks? Official Microsoft operating systems &/or Official Web Browsers already perform these certificate updates. "If your hack bricks your system, then who is really to blame, the publisher of the hack or you yourself for placing trust in that hack?" You asked me directly, that's my answer. Call it "Been there, done that." Or "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me." But sure, that doesn't mean that YOUR experience with these "updaters" will also result in a reformat/reinstall. I can only tell you from my own experience that my trial on a "certificate updater" did result in unbroken cites being broken and a reformat/reinstall to fix the unbroken.

Thanks for the referencing to SSE2, i got some help from chatgpt to make a patched i_view32.exe which now loads jpeg/jpg files without error ( redirects to MMX i believe instead of SSE2 for the problematic path, though i've only done limited testing. ), also working that previously didnt is .crw file. i removed vtf.dll from the plugins as it was the one causing the "isdebuggerpresent" problem when trying to check installed plugins. i may not patch that file because it's not really that important, more of a niche plugin anyways. will update more later on other stuff. Also im gonna attach the patched i_view32.exe for use on irfanview 4.44 on windows 9x ( windows 95 osr 2.5 or newer ), should be up for at least a few days to download. https://limewire.com/d/Rfwr7#NECTyRfjXh
