everytime i delete a folder on my desktop(just a folder made by windows media player when ripping a cd) it comes back sooner or later

and i keep on having to delete it but it just doesnt go away.

what seems to be the problem?

Whats the name of the folder?

Are you ripping the CD to this location originally? Once deleted do the contents of the original folder come back? Maybe related to temp files being stored?

Check WMP > Tools > Options > Rip Music [Tab] > Rip Music To This Location.

What's the location for your setup?

Under the tap "Library" > Monitor Folders [button].

Is the folder on your desktop listed amongst the "monitor folders" list. If so can you remove it from there. Does it re-appear on your desktop now?

enuffsaid- i tried your method but now it just takes longer for it to appear.

and the folder is called The Game-DA, there is nothing in the folder now, i took the songs from it and moved it to another place.

its just that the folder just doesnt seem to wanna go.

try to delete in safe mode or restrat in normal mode.

or disable simple file sharing, make sure you got Full control over the folder, then try deleting it,

how do i disable simple file sharing or gain full control over the folder?

Firstly there might be a problem, which i forgot to meantion, you need windows 2000, XP Pro, etc, i dont belive XP Home supports this,

but if you go to tools, in any windows, thats showing a folder, such as your documents, then folder options, View, just untick the box that says 'Use Simple File Sharing'. then apply and ok the windows. you should then be able to right click on the folder, click Security, add yourself to the List, you may need to take ownership of the file first, then give yourself full access.

also, are you sure this is a folder, and not a shortcut?

For Home Edition, you can boot in Safe Mode to have the Security tab
