I am just doing a very silly thing. I erased my hard drive and went looking for my windows 98se disc. I found the disc but i cant find the sleeve with the code on it. I went onto microsofts site, they want to charge something like $38 to deal with any query, because support stopped in 2003.has anyone any idea what to do.so i have the disc but no code. Its not worth spending alot of money on. Any advice appreciated.

I had a look at that thread Im afraid that looks beyond me.There doesnt seem to be a quick fix solution for this one.

MS is over the hill on that stuff.

98/SE is like "yesterday" so why on earth should they hold up a person over it. It's assinine!

They are way too hung up on their licensing C..R..A..P..

The answer is as close as your best friend. Just ask. Any 98/SE key will work.
