I'm going to support any game that has three or more votes only. Some games I don't support with my current computer, so I may have to rely on the community to provide the needed information.

Hi!!

i been monitering this topic for a few days and like the idea og an OS stripped down for gaming.

here is a list of game support i would like:

NFS UnderGround 1 & 2

NFS Most Wanted

Quake 4

Doom 3

thats it for now.

And also i also tend to play quake and NFS Most Wanted online, does this os have full wireless support, and laptop support??

Yeah this sound really cool :)

The games I play are NFSU 1&2/NFSMW/BF2 :)

If you need testers or help please let me know... ;)

Right now I have two options: to release GE without any game support within a week or two or to release GE in a two or more months with a few games supported, possibly even a majority of games. Keep in mind that either of these releases will still be a beta and more will come.

@suryad

I'm not releasing any benchmarks until my new computer arrives, for fear that you'll laugh at my pathetic hardware ;).

Unfortunately, I will not be able to release it on Christmas day, as I hoped...:(. Expect it to be out right before New Years.

Well there goes xmas joking....

Questions:

You mentioned 56k and broadband for gaming in back thread,so i take it internet access will be part of it?

Will we be able to load firefox,and use xp built in fwall?

Will loading drivers give us .dll he** ie: nvidia drivers

Would love a nice simple os with just basic firefox access with my broadband....ive done something similar with slackware,but would like a win one also....

Hi

I love this idea.

Plz release a beta asap, then the community may be able to help you out with games support and things like this.

Yes, there will be internet support. What's the fun of games without being able to play against others :P?

You won't be needing a firewall, as GE will be secure by default.

I don't see how loading drivers will give you DLL hell. That's usually caused by buggy software that shares the same DLL's as the system.

@Nakatomi2010

I won't know until I get my new computer. But hopefully, yes.
