the best thing in MPC is,it will tell u what codec u need to play that particular file.

and it looks liter.but works awesome.

I would use VLC only for playing DVDs outside of my DVD-ROM's region; i.e., non-Region 1 DVDs. So, as a DVD player, VLC is buggy as hell, so I don't use it any more. Can MPC do this?

do u mean region manipulation?

i dono abt it.but is it legal?

As far as I know, yes, it is legal. There are many legitimate programs you can buy to do that, without having to flash your firmware. It isn't really manipulation; more like fooling your DVD-ROM into thinking it's the same region as the DVD you put in. Anyway, VLC is a clumsy DVD player.

i use vlc because i dont have to worry about codecs

Codecs aren't much of a bother, very simple to deal with. And anyway, it's nice to keep a look out for any new codecs/filters that playback formats more efficiently without increase or possibly decrease in CPU usage. Codecs/filters integrated into the EXE aren't always the best thing, I know this is the case with MPC, but you have the option to use alternate codecs I think.
