Favourite File Manager

Featured Replies

So far I only tried Total Commander which has a few advantages over Explorer but not quite what I'm looking for. I'm looking for a FileManager that is similar to Explorer but it has: speed mesurment when copying files, 2pane view + TREE, better file handling,...

What are your recomendations?

btw. I don't care if it is free or not, as long as it gets the job done...

There is a lite version that is free but you have to look for it a little bit at the site.

The pay version is the one being developed now, and maybe better.

Total Commander is the best choice for GUI Windows file manager, and it supports all your desires :)

Xplorer2Lite. I like my file manager to look as much like Windows Explorer as possible. Also uses about 2 MBs less RAM than Total Commander. :P

Heres a few:

ExplorerXP (freeware) http://www.explorerxp.com/

ExplorerXP is a very fast, small, compact and innovative FREEWARE (for non - commercial use) file manager for Windows 2000/XP. Unlike the regular Windows Explorer, it displays the total size of each folder and allows you to browse multiple folders from a tabbed interface.
Folder View (freeware) http://www.folderview.com/folderview/index.html
Folder View is a free (freeware) add-on for Windows that drastically enhances the way you browse the folders on your system.

Folder Size Explorer Extension (Freeware) http://foldersize.sourceforge.net/

Folder Size Explorer Extension adds a new column to the Details view in Windows Explorer. The new column shows not only the size of files, but also the size of folders.

Imo the best is XPlorer2

XPlorer2: Its fast, free and quite comfortable

ExplorerXP: Free, fast but doesnt show shared folders and network environment
