RyanVM
7za.exe x path\to\netfxsp1.7z -oc:\extract\path -yI don't think there's an actual silent switch, but this will extract netfxsp1.7z to whatever directory you wish. At that point, you can run the msi file with the usual command lines from the batch file.
Jeronimo
For the record, the install point compresses down to 10.9MB as a 7zip archive. And 7z.exe supports all the command switches needed to extract files. Documentation comes with it.OK, in fact I like 7zip - it gives extremely good compression (therefore huge space savings) in most cases. But I still feel somewhat shackled with it.RAR sfx'es are much more well-featured. 7-zip doesn't give SFX icon choosing, authenticity verification, the winrar shell extension, recovery record, and lots more. Then again 7zip is free and WinRAR is not. Still for these purposes you could use WinRAR on a trial basis.
MAVERICKS CHOICE
Thanks guys most interesting guide.I must say though having a little trouble in the rar sfx compression bit, cannot seem to find the solid archive tick box in winrar 3.3 I noticed the best compression setting in mode but not solid archive box? missing something not too familiar with winrar? Getting the rar also only down to 17 meg?

MHz
@shef SaleYour batch command is executing the extraction. Once that is finished. It will continue with the next line in the batch file, even though .Net still has to install.I'm using Autoit scripts to monitor the install with the /qb switch used in .Net archive. My script will not proceed until .Net window has closed.Controlling with a Batchfile? Not sure. Here is my Autoit exe. Put it in the some folder as setup.exe (.Net archive). And run aDotnet.exe from your batchfile. aDotnet will run setup.exe. Batch will not continue until aDotnet.exe has finished. Ensure your archive has this in it's comments:;The comment below contains SFX script commandsSetup=Netfx.msi /qb /norestartTempModeSilent=2Overwrite=1Good luck. P.S. it will delete ASPUSER as well in the script.aDotnet.zip

Coolsights2000
Have you heard any thing like this I run fat32 HUM!!!!!!!!!!I also read some post that the SP1 that was ship on the XP SP@ disc is not the correct one ,, I am waiting on the CD then I'll be able to check .....also looks like it has not been kicked in on the update site maybe that is what confused the crap out of me...found on this page http://msdn.microsoft.com/newsgroups/defau...7e-31b5adae4d49Date: Thu, 26 Aug 2004 14:44:40 -0700From: "James Vastbinder" jvast<at>microsoft.comTo: Jochen<at>kalmbachnet.deJochen,I've been waiting to get word back from HQ about being able to tell youthere are issues with the FX working properly on FAT32 filesystems, butthere seems to be a hold up. So to make a long story short, you will befine on NTFS, but not FAT32 with the version you have loaded. Therewill be a final release tracking out a few weeks, this will be the finalrelease of .NET FX SP1 - the one you want to load on your systems.cheers,James Vastbinder | ISV Platform Evangelist | Microsoft | ph (425)722-6820 | sms 4254662801@vtext.com | blog: http://blogs.msdn.com/jvastdeveloper & platform evangelism -- Greetings Jochen

(I may be wrong, though)Gonna check on this today.
