Why would you use them when all of the cited service packs are freely downloaded? Why use an older version (or in the case of XP SP1a, the version with the exact component you want removed out of it)?

maybe because some people want it removed, and then they installed the full version plus update, and it saves alittle room?

Wouldn't know how it would save space from SP1a as it's not even included, but SP1 is understandable.

Also, you can still download SP1 from the Microsoft website.

SP1 has never been removed from the website or Microsoft's servers. It was just....hidden from public view.

As for all download of teh JVM, they're not supposed to include it in any future releases. However with that new Sun deal, they can however fix any issues with it, but can't update it.

@mrmx, next time first take a look at known bugs, you can save yourself trouble

There is beta 9.1 uploaded, but not much new, i wasn't home, you got little better description displaying, added more presets and to disable sfc by choice.

Please close all applications, reboot Windows and restart this installation

I've tried all these steps but all in vain!

Ok, then i'll make proper installer for next issue...until then try installing winrar and extract it...if that doesn't work, then try fixing your file system...

@punk, it should support every language...don't select ANY language support or experimental option and try it then.

Make sure you are using latest version (9.1) and WindowsXP Proffesional...if it's a home version nlite may fail.

@MCT, about components...every single one will be removed eventually.

uxtheme nope...going to put that note on the first page...it was brought up 3 times, find the explanation.

edit:

@bonedaddy, yes, send me sleep.exe...but i'm affraid that your 16bit problem is due to registry tweaks, not nlite...if you are willing and did not tried it already, you can test nlited version but don't apply your tweaks.
