I dunno if next year's first build will still work or not, and I don't wanna risk finding out, so I'm sharing what we currently have.

I wondered how feasible it was to back this up. It seems that Steam updates every day.

Disabling Steam client auto-updates. In the Steam folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam), create a Steam.cfg file with the text: BootStrapperInhibitAll=Enable, set the attribute "Read Only". Disable Steam's autorun. In the Steam shortcut on the desktop, add the following parameter: -noverifyfiles -nobootstrapupdate -skipinitialbootstrap -norepairfiles -overridepackageurl

The latest beta build - 1703100617 - released on December 20th is still working. The countdown at the top of the screen says zero but it works.

@recapir It is also working on Windows 7.

Does the latest build still work on 7?

Latest beta build - 1705108172 - January 12th - Still works on Windows 8.1. I don't think they updated CEF beyond 109 yet, so it should still work on W7 as well. 

PS: Autoupdate still works on beta builds in 8.1.

Yes, it still works on Windows 7 as well.

it works for me on 8.1. latest beta client
