noles20 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Hello I have Windows XP x64 bit edition with SP2 installed and I installed the required prerequisites for Microsoft update v6 restored but am getting this error after it says checking if your computer has the latest version of the Windows updating software for use with this website
NotHereToPlayGames Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago You should "localize" the updates, not rely on anything outside of your own computer. For my XP x64, I use a guide from either RyanVM or WinCert, I'd have to hunt it down. You create the updated install disk and NEVER HAVE TO VISIT WINDOWS UPDATE, it's already updated AT INSTALL. Or use something like this - https://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/ryanvms_windows_xp_post_sp2_update_pack.html If you insist on using Windows Update, this might work - https://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/tweaking_com_repair_windows_updates.html You may be better served with something like this - https://archive.org/details/en-windows-xp-professional-x-64-fully-updated_202201
