Tripredacus
An oddity for sure, but an actual ability to get an HTTP 418 response on a live website... at least until it is fixed, if ever. HTTP 418 response code is "I'm a teapot" or the server refuses to brew coffee because it is a teapot. Which is... apparently... a legitimate HTTP response code: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/HTTP/Status/418 At this very moment, this is the response code you get if you try to view the License Agreement on glass8.eu.
NotHereToPlayGames
When I click the License agreement link at the bottom, it takes me to here --
UCyborg
The link was changed to point to license2.txt. It used to point to license.txt: http://glass8.eu/out/license.txt (which shows HTTP 418 code ATM) Edit: It looks like only the statement about how it works was removed, which I suppose makes sense for a license text. Tripredacus
I had PMed bigmuscle about the link error before making this post. I guess he had since updated the link between me posting this thread and when arcticfoxie replied.
Mcinwwl
Well, changing website response to shout back 418 instead of 404 should not be a big deal for a coder. Shame we see it so rarely IRL.
jaclaz
Not so easy, you need to program the whole HTCPCP protocol and stack, if you want to do it properly ;) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyper_Text_Coffee_Pot_Control_Protocol The google implementation is still online, however: https://www.google.com/teapot jaclaz
NotHereToPlayGames
Cool. Did you notice that you can click on the Google teapot and it pours tea? But you can't click again to get it to stop pouring.

Sure, the issue is that once a whole cup is poured, the level of the tea in the cup diminishes until it is empty (the cup must have a hole of a crack) jaclaz
Tripredacus
I like to think that the bottom of the teacup hides a hole that leads to the bit bucket.
jaclaz
Anyway (for someone that likes tea) it is literally tantalizing. though - most probably - that teapot is not any better than the Nutri-matic machine Douglas Adams described: Quote After a fairly shaky start to the day, Arthur's mind was beginning to reassemble itself from the shell-shocked fragments the previous day had left him with. He had found a Nutri-Matic machine which had provided him with a plastic cup filled with a liquid that was almost, but not quite, entirely unlike tea. The way it functioned was very interesting. When the Drink button was pressed it made an instant but highly detailed examination of the subject's taste buds, a spectroscopic analysis of the subject's metabolism and then sent tiny experimental signals down the neural pathways to the taste centers of the subject's brain to see what was likely to go down well. However, no one knew quite why it did this because it invariably delivered a cupful of liquid that was almost, but not quite, entirely unlike tea. jaclaz
