Is there an MP4 player available for Windows NT?

I've tried looking around but haven't had much luck. Even the TCPMP player doesn't run on Windows NT SP6a. Installing klite 2.73 changed ZoomPlayer 8.0 to go from invalid codecs to internal errors. Not sure if this is the fault of ZoomPlayer or the codecs.

Hi! Mp4 is just a container. Which codec do you mean, exactly? DX50? H264? Divx?

Do you have K-lite Codec Pack 2.73 installed?

Yes, I installed this codec pack and video does not work.

However, I found an alternative player that got MP4 to play on NT 4 after trying at least 20 different media players. :)

Now, I'm just trying to find the lost DirectX 6 patch for Windows NT 4.0.

You mean this one? Found it for you.

The downloads below are archives provided by the Internet Archive Wayback Machine from the Microsoft Download Center prior to August 2020.

This is a security patch, not the runtime?

But I found the DirectX 6 patch anyway. Carnivores runs on Windows NT 4.0 with it!! :D

You want DirectX 6 itself? You can get it from oldversion.com.

Edit: Oh wait, you are talking about the End-User Runtime. Would this one work for you?

That one is meant for Windows 2000. I found an unofficial one for Windows NT 4. Tested it and Carnivore worked!

"Susan Bugher, May 21, 2003, 1:32:09 AM, to alt.comp.freeware : I think it would be helpful to have a list of *ware* types on the Pricelessware Info page. NOT a list of which ware types are on-topic. Just a list that shows the difference between adware and nagware, etc. etc. I created the list below as a starting point Additions, corrections and comments are requested. Susan"
